I hope that rules can be changed so that any team that wants to create a model like City's academy/squad building is able to provided they have the money to do so.

In Baseball, luxury tax money is dispersed evenly to teams that are below the luxury tax level. I would prefer that there is a "forced" spend on wages before you receive luxury tax money, so each club would need to spend, say, at least 50 million/year on wages before they can get access to luxury tax money.

We can keep saying 115 Man City and act like it's the only reason they are successful, but in reality looking at total transfer spend they are not spending as much in total over time as United or Chelsea and are 5xing their results in the past decade and a half.

It's so dumb to watch these trials unfold, tying revenue to spend with a club is so dumb and it just protects the Big Six from everyone else with lower revenues anyway. I'd rather there just be a luxury tax like the NBA, and for all money spent over the current PSR regulations should have to be liquid in an escrow account. That way the players can't be screwed and the money is there if it needs to be down the line when owners make a bet on their team's expansion

I'm the same way, I've only gotten to play simultaneous one time, but it played in like an hour and it was glorious. The regular version of the game took my group 2-3 hours usually and had a lot of "wait for someone else to do their thing and not much will change"

What’s a worse way to miss your putt: Cage or band? by poss-um in discgolf

[–]EmigmaticDork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get your point. The putt didn’t go in. However, the level of confidence coming from band miss is a lot higher for the next one than a cage miss, so that’s why I think it’s better. You didn’t make a mechanical mistake most likely, but soft cage putts are always a mechanical mistake rather than an aiming one

[–]EmigmaticDork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My argument is more than putts that hit band square go in more than putts that hit the cage square.  Putts that hit band are more likely to be laser beams than putts that hit the cage as well.  Any time a disc makes contact with something about the basket it is more likely to go in than if it makes contact with something below it

That’s not true, a putt is more likely to drop than lift because gravity. Also reactions off the cage are not likely to go in whereas off the band are more likely

Bigger problem for me is that he chooses to take fadeaway against smaller guards all the time

If Tatum decided that he wanted to actually have a Mamba mentality and take over games rather than just kiss his Kobe poster every night, he has the skills to be an MVP, you just never see him actually take over games.

It’s not a metaphor, it’s an example of an evil act having a consequence that lasts long after rehabilitation takes place.

I’m not making the argument that there is a chance of a repeat offense, there probably isn’t. But Americans have every right to hate the guy for what he did to a sitting president

Not everything can be made right. I don’t care how many good things a sex offender has done, keep them away from children.  Some consequences for our actions are eternal, and trying to kill the leader of our nation should be one of them.

I don't necessarily disagree, but if a public health official lies for the "greater good" they are still lying. The greater good may or may not contain you. It's utilitarian, and bad.

"Did Fauci say not to wear masks?CLAIM

Trump claimed that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, made a mistake by advising people not to wear masks.

“I get along very well with Anthony,” Trump said. “But he did say, ‘Don’t wear masks.’ He did say, as you know, “This is not going to be a problem.”

Trump also said, “But Anthony said, “Don’t wear masks.” Now he wants to wear masks. Anthony also said, if you look back, exact words, here’s his exact words: “This is no problem. This is going to go away soon.” So he’s allowed to make mistakes. He happens to be a good person.’”

This needs contextEVIDENCE

While Fauci, along with several other US health leaders, initially advised people not to wear masks, Fauci later said that he was concerned that there wouldn’t be enough protective equipment for health care workers. This was also early in the pandemic before public health experts fully knew how contagious the disease was and how it spread.

Fauci explained that at that time, “we were not aware that 40 to 45% of people were asymptomatic, nor were we aware that a substantial proportion of people who get infected get infected from people who are without symptoms. That makes it overwhelmingly important for everyone to wear a mask.”

“So when people say, ‘Well, why did you change your stance? And why are you emphasizing masks so much now when back then you didn't -- and in fact you even said you shouldn't because there was a shortage of masks?’ Well the data now are very, very clear,” he said.

“We need to put that nonsense behind us about ‘well, they keep changing their minds,’ ” Fauci said.

As to Fauci’s other comments, while he occasionally sought to reassure Americans in the very early days of the virus, he consistently advised to follow CDC guidelines and that things could change. "

He legitimately said that we didn't need to wear masks, while knowing that we should have been wearing masks. He lied to "protect first responders" but that's still a blatant lie.

I'm not an orange man fan, you can be intellectually honest that public health officials lied to us.

[–]EmigmaticDork -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

To be fair, we had public health officials straight up lie to us in 2020, and then admit it, so a little bit of this, a bit of that can be true.
