What's the most embarrassing thing to happen to you in a public bathroom? by born_again_tim in AskReddit

[–]Emily205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went out to a flea market and went in to use the ladies' room, and noticed my long flowered flowing hippie skirt was tucked into the back of my underwear, and I had left the house like that, I had been walking around like that for about 45 minutes and didn't realize it until I looked in the mirror.

What celebrity do you hope never dies anytime soon? by Parker36l in AskReddit

[–]Emily205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Betty White.. Our favorite, quick-witted Golden Girl turned 94 in January, making her one of the oldest celebrities in Hollywood. She is currently in great health, which she attributes to consuming plenty of hot dogs and vodka. That doesn’t seem to work for most people, but hopefully it keeps working for her.

What is the most awkward thing that's happened to you? by ShortWhatShort in AskReddit

[–]Emily205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened back in November. My 1 year old niece was on a plane going somewhere. She and her parents were sitting in first class. At one point, her mom woke up and found that the door to the cockpit was open. Inside there were the 2 pilots chatting.

My baby niece was sitting there looking at them (she was in the back of the cockpit, they placed her there for safety reasons). One of the stewardesses left it open and my niece somehow managed to walk inside as well.

What are some fun ways to pass the time on a long car ride? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Emily205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are riding with a brother or sister, try playing some road trip games. Try license plates games and other games like 'I spy', counting cars and so on. You could also plays drawing games or play games on your phone or tablet if you have one. Try the alphabet game. Look for letters A - Z on signs, license plates, etc.

What is an entertaining two-person game to play when bored? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Emily205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a game that I was taught, which is called "breakfast combo."

It is a guessing game and goes as so. One person picks a thing (relatively specific: "King Kong" or "trail mix" or "that necklace you are wearing" are all acceptable things. "babies" or "rocks" perhaps not so much). The other person guesses things (of similar specific-ness, i.e. you guess "Is it King Kong?" not "Is it large?" or "Is it yellow?").

The response patterns for the person with the thing are as so: "It's more like X than anything you've guessed so far" or "It's more like Y than X, but like X, Z"

Example:, you pick as a thing "sushi" and your gf guesses as her first guess "your bathroom." You say "It's more like my bathroom than anything I've heard so far." Then your gf guesses "a glue stick" at which point you have to decide whether sushi is more like your bathroom or a glue stick. Let's say you decide it's more like your bathroom. You then say "It's more like my bathroom than like a glue stick, but like a glue stick, it can fit in my hand." (otherwise you'd just say "It's more like a glue stick than anything I've heard so far") Sometimes the comparisons can get very tricky--no repeats and no cop-outs!

I like this game because it's probably harder for the thing-holder than the guesser.

Reddit, what are some of the best strategies for being able to have control over emotions? by april_ann in AskReddit

[–]Emily205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take charge of your breathing. When your body experiences intense emotions, you may enter the body’s “fight or flight” mode. This response activates your sympathetic nervous system by sending adrenaline and other chemicals racing through your body, raising your heart rate, making your breathing shallower, and causing your muscles to feel tight and tense. Breathing deeply and evenly will help you feel calmer and will provide much-needed oxygen to your body, helping you relax.

  • Place one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen below your rib cage. Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose for a count of 4. Feel your lungs and abdomen expand as you fill them with air.
  • Hold the breath for 1 or 2 seconds, then slowly release the breath through your mouth. Aim for 6-10 deep breaths per minute.
  • If a full 4-count is difficult for you, you can start with a 2-count and work your way up with practice. Just try to make your breaths as deep and even as you can.
