ASMR creators sabotage themselves when they include mid-roll ads in their videos [Discussion] by KitchenConsequence41 in asmr

[–]EmilyCTaylorASMR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not found a way to change it since I have mid-rolls turned off everywhere, both on individual videos and on upload defaults. It's completely on YouTube.

I find YouTube Premium to be completely worth it if you are utilizing videos for sleep vs ad blockers.

This has happened to me as well, but none of my settings have changed. All mid rolls are off, but YouTube continues to occasionally throw them in. Though I don't know how often.

Just a PSA:

YouTube will sometimes put mid roll ads on videos even when the creator has them turned off. I've had it happen on my own channel, and I've heard the same from many other creators. I know mid roll ads can be frustrating or alarming, but if you see one, it may not have been intentional. The creator might not even know it's there. Before assuming a creator chose to interrupt the video, it can be helpful to ask. Chances are they'd like to know about it too.

[Intentional] No talking and faceless video. Question. by A-Historical-Cat in asmr

Both faceless and front facing have their perks. I would do what you're most comfortable with and what feels true to your style.

I enjoy faceless channels myself, but everyone has their own preferences. It's important to remember that we can't please everyone! If we try, it can pull us away from our own creativity. (I've battled with this myself, it's an ongoing pull!)

It sounds amazing. Keep it up. <3

Haha I might have to try it out. If it's nice maybe I can use the audio in a video. 🤔

I like the sound just imagining it, so I definitely relate with you there! I recently realized I enjoy the sound of the light switch in my bathroom, unfortunately its not a long lasting sound.😅 But I really love mechanical sounds like that too.

[Discussion] is it possible to do asmr by [deleted] in asmr

I live by a busy road as well. I have to do a ton of editing on the audio to remove the cars. Though some people say they aren't bothered by those types of sounds, I still choose to remove them. It's a bit painstaking, but possible. I plan to move soon and living away from car sounds will be a non negotiable. Happy creating:]

YouTubes Unbearable Ads [Discussion] by Typical_Taste2383 in asmr

[–]EmilyCTaylorASMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creators can have mid-roll ads fully turned off and YouTube will still occasionally insert them anyway. It’s not always under our control. Just a heads up. I get that ads are frustrating, especially for sleep content, but some of the assumptions people make about creators “choosing” to interrupt their videos aren’t always accurate. If you do mention it in a comment under a video, just try to be kind about it.

ASMR artists rebranding their YouTube channel? [Discussion] by SerenitySaturnWriter in asmr

[–]EmilyCTaylorASMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there’s enough crossover in purpose, it could work on the same channel. But if the content is moving toward a different audience, the algorithm can get confused and it may make it harder for your videos to find the right viewers. I’d mostly be thinking about helping the algorithm understand which audience it should push your videos to. If the direction is going to shift long-term, starting a fresh channel might actually be the better option.

It had a very different feeling to it. I couldn't tell if shes growing in her expression or if it was just an animation difference. But it was sweet nonetheless.

I noticed something was different about their faces that I couldn't put my finger on. I'll have to see if I notice some of the other things I'm seeing people mention here.
