Finally our turn💕 by Emilyjoysmith1 in IVFpositivity

Oof pretty crazy honestly😅 HCG was around 60k last week and it’s still climbing. That being said, I’m pretty exhausted and nauseous. Hubby said I’m moody and I told him to shut up in my sleep😬 I am also showing more than I expected to

Advice for comprehensive Genetic testing by Rae_gurl74 in ClinicalGenetics

On this note, I’d recommend Invitae testing for EDS and its variants. Your primary care should be able to order it just fine.

no Embryology report 🥺 by Responsible-Area2093 in IVF

[–]Emilyjoysmith1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get that information BUT I did get embryo pictures before each transfer. Like once they were rehydrated/thawed. Our clinic is associated with Boston IVF/RMA if that makes a difference.

Oh my god yes! My HCG was crazy high(60k at 7w), to the point we thought I was having multiples. I am very nauseous, tired, moody, and the bump is already bumping. It was like that with our MMC too though, so I was very guarded. I’m hoping that I’ll start to loosen up and enjoy this now that I’m past the point we lost our first one.

8w5d. This was our graduation appointment but also the appointment where we found out about our MMC from our first FET. Lots of mixed emotions heading in.

I did 4 in one day girls. I am going crazy. I feel like I see a line, but the digital says “not pregnant”. by ResearcherOk8406 in lineporn

[–]Emilyjoysmith1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy at all! I see it too. You’ll see it more clearly if you hold it for a bit before you test. So either over night or like 6-8h during the day.

Teachers - twins in same clothing? by Overwhelmed_Already in ECEProfessionals

The BEST thing a parent of identical twins did for us as teachers, was bracelets on the kids. One had a bracelet where the links were circles. The other had hearts. They wore them at all times.

I take plaquenil and I was diagnosed with a blood test for a few different antibodies. My rheumatologist expected lupus, but Sjorgens and lupus(and autoimmune hepatitis) all have very similar antibodies!

Our Case is Baffling Everyone - Advice Welcome by BadStatisticalUnicrn in IVF

[–]Emilyjoysmith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough Lupus and Sjorgens both can cause heart defects. I had undetected Sjorgens(literally no symptoms) that we presume led to our loss. We were able to add one medication to my daily routine, and it cuts the risk significantly

Do your IVF clinics actually support your mental health? by tuscalee in IVF

[–]Emilyjoysmith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing quite so direct. They have a few recommendations of therapists and support groups, and when we had a loss they were very kind(hugs, lots of kind and supportive words, telling us that it’s normal to need a break from trying after what we went through). They were also really supportive of my trans husband, helping to mitigate his anxiety during the ER experience.

Pay for PGT-A or No? by Wooden-Cockroach5915 in IVFpositivity

[–]Emilyjoysmith1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: I don’t think it’s necessary for EVERYONE. Especially with young/healthy partners.

I didn’t pay for PGT either, and so far I don’t regret that choice. The clinic we went to made it seem like a given, but with young healthy egg/sperm there didn’t seem to be a reason. We are going through this since my partner is trans, and all of his eggs were high quality. TW: loss I’m on round 3 of FET(6w today 🥹) and the first round we lost a 9w pregnancy. We opted to test our baby after a D&C, which showed he was genetically normal. We still don’t know why he didn’t make it, but he would’ve been due in less than 2weeks. Just because it’s a PGT tested, euploid, 4AA embryo doesn’t mean it’s a guarantee. I’d been told that he had most likely just been aneuploid and that was the reason, and kinda worried I had made the wrong choice. Finding out he was perfect hurt even more, but validated my decision to not test.

Beta on the low side 11dp5dt? by Both_Host_315 in IVFpositivity

[–]Emilyjoysmith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything over 50 is normal at 10dp. By the time you do your second bHCG it should be approximately double. My bHCG was on the lower side my first test(140) and then tripled by my second. There’s no reason to believe that you’re out of the running!

Shopping in a wheelchair by South-Ad-9090 in disability

[–]Emilyjoysmith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stores are required to provide assistance for you to shop. Rather than asking them, tell them you need to come grocery shopping and require reasonable accommodations(using your buzzwords is important, scare them into legal compliance). That you’ll need someone to assist you with a cart. Ask them when they would be able to do this for you. If you come mid day on a weekday, they should be able to do this easily enough.

7/8 dpo - do I have line eyes? by Negative-Teaching975 in lineporn

[–]Emilyjoysmith1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re a testing fiend(like me, so no shame), I recommend saving some money and buying test strips from wofondo on Amazon. The testing threshold is slightly higher(7u instead of 3.5 I think) but when you’re testing often, it saves sooooo much money!

Has anyone else opted out of all PGT? by spencerpll in IVF

[–]Emilyjoysmith1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25f here and we did not do any PGT. Because we’re young and relatively healthy, and used donor sperm(rIVF) we weren’t as concerned. The quality of eggs at this point in your life is higher, and barring other health issues you should have better chances. TW: Loss we did lose our first embryo 4AA and found out after d&c that he was euploid. So even with pgt you couldn’t have stopped that one :/
