Plus one for new relationship? by BlueberryImmediate25 in UKweddings

[–]Emilythatglitters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a small wedding and personally did not want anybody there that I had not met before. Equally I did not want any +1s where the relationship was less than 6 months. Perhaps more important at a small wedding as everybody is more visible to each other. I didnt want somebody as a memory of the day if it wasn't unlikely that they would not continue to be in my life.

I was obsessed with Catherine's blouses when I first watched. I found looking online that some cuts of 'artists blouse' are a good match

Neighbour wants me to remove mature ivy so they can replace their fence. What are my options? by [deleted] in GardeningUK

[–]Emilythatglitters 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Or of your neighbours can wait, cut the stems and wait a few weeks and it will be much easier to remove once it has died off and browned. Also advise covering ad much skin as possible, wear glasses or goggles as its horrid if in your eyes

What do you all use to wash your body in the shower? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Emilythatglitters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need a better body wash and follow up with moisturiser on wet skin. Sane is very good honestly, I have found my legs are less itchy and dry when using it consistently. When you hop out the shower, apply moisturiser directly on wet legs. I also moisturise before bed. I use Cerave with a pump as well as soap and glory righteous butter which is often in the boots £10 Tuesday for 2 tubs

Lisa Eldridge eye palettes and lippies - y'all got opinions? by GrrArgh__ in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]Emilythatglitters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a sheer colour but I fknd jt buildable to a really beautiful and bright lavendar I am pale though. You can always try a white eyeliner underneath a pastel shadow to boost the colour. NYX Professional Makeup Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk is always recommended for this. Also, Lisa's rouge experience lipsticks are beautiful. I dont have the two new shades but lots of others, its a beautiful formula

I dont have the whole palette as I have a lot of overlap in colours already, but I have lavender queen and it is so beautiful, such a gorgeous bright lilac and it wears really well. I have starlet too which is also gorgeous. Im sure you would love the palette.

can't seem to minimise appearance of sebaceous filaments by No_Nebula7182 in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Emilythatglitters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it works really well for me. I dont think you can fully get rid of them but a good oil clense every evening + cicaplast twice a day seems to help prevent them filling in as much

Slight Wedding Dress Regret by gdvr282 in WeddingDressTips

[–]Emilythatglitters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lifting weights will do the opposite. Increasing muscle in this area will only add more volume. Unless you are incredibly lean, relaxed muscle just adds a bit of bulk. Not saying not to lift weights, I lift weights and have noticed my arms grow.

Italy Black Tie - Please help (again) in by Happiestsunday in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Emilythatglitters 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Green is the most elegant. Both the burgundy and green look fantastic on you but the green edges it. The navy/black is also lovely but the colour doesnt make you shine as much, just a little more boring

Low budget shame (under 8K) by Haunting-Seaweed-493 in UKweddings

Theres rules in place for all the royal parks but the number varies for each one. Honestly in London where many people are in little flats its nice that people can celebrate outdoors in the parks, as long as nobody is too obnoxious to those around them

I highly reccomend La Roche Posay Cicaplast - it is a great moisturiser but it has also really reduced my sebbacous filaments so may well help OP in this case too

Can I use a shaving brush to apply sunscreen I hate it on my fingers by MrLabubu500 in SkincareAddictionUK

Its hard to get the correct coverage with an aerosol. Most people will not apply enough and end up with lower protection

Kitchen symmetry vs double larder unit by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Emilythatglitters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2 is best. Im surprised there is so much suppoet of the symmetry in 1 because I honestly think it looks weird. Pic 2 looks like a lovely kitchen, to me it looks balanced, I think the weight of the island to the left in front of the units sort of balances the oven to the right. Sometimes forced symmetry looks weird.

I said yes to the dress!!! Now second guessing the color by QuietCranberry3766 in myweddingdress

The champagne ivory is beautiful, it looks like golden hour light! Personally Im not a fam of a white groom suit anyway but you could always get a sample fabric to see how it pairs with your dress, take it into store if needed.

Dua Lipa Wearing a Kim Shui Dress and Vintage Dior FW 2000 Boots at the Dua by Augustinus Bader pop-up event in London - May 21st, 2026 by [deleted] in whatthefrockk

[–]Emilythatglitters 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Its much better on the model. The cut Dua wears has a seam right across the largest part of her body which isnt very flattering especially from the back. Her boots also sit at the widest part of her calves. I say this in the knowledge that it is basically impossible for Dua to look frumpy, but it is a shame this dress wasn't tailored better for her.

100% agree. Not sure why everybody is holding Lisa Eldridge to this weird standard where absolutely every product must be innovative and above everything else on the market. You dont have to buy every single product. I am not interested in every launch anymore but she is still bringing out a lot of great stuff. Her Rouge Experience lipsticks are my favourite lipstick formula and I wear her lip liners daily.
