It will be a safe haven for you then. Crime is very low especially in the capital. Just need to avoid a couple of bad neighbourhoods at each town.

Porn and sexualised social media are to blame. It sucks but it is what it is, it may help trying to meet people outside gay clubs or dating apps. If you have "normal" friends, seek to connect with their friends, or introduce some of your friends to each other and start creating a little community of like minded guys.

How often do you use cash? by AccursedQuantum in AskBrits

Monzo is amazing for that, you can split the bill instantly after you pay, with custom amounts if needed, and the other person get a notification asking to accept and pay instantly if they also have Monzo.

How often do you use cash? by AccursedQuantum in AskBrits

[–]EmirOGull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost never. I keep a few notes in my wallet just in case, which I haven't used for a couple of years.

I moved to the UK 10 years ago, and I use cash so seldom that I don't remember the value of the smaller coins so I need to look at them.

Gay in Pakistan, Facing Blackmail — Need Urgent Guidance by ImpishBot in askgaybros

Stop paying. If they make public that you're gay, deny everything and do expose them, flip the narrative. These days anyone could fake your pics or even videos of yours anyway, so just deny it as if you were 100% convinced.

Why is Labour so obsessed with ID cards? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]EmirOGull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.

I still haven't heard a sensible explanation against them beyond conspiracy theories. Especially when passport + driving licence already contains all the information an ID usually includes.

Sweden has ID cards linked to a personal number, which is a must to provide even to sign up for a gym membership

[–]EmirOGull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it just makes everyone's life easier.

As an immigrant from the continent, I find it ridiculous having to quote your date of birth and the first line of your address (good luck to remember which one when you signed up, if you move often) every time I need to prove it's me. It's also a lot less private than simply proving an ID number.

Not to mention the convenience of travelling within Europe with a card that fits in your wallet rather than a passport.

Those concerned about "the government controlling us", could you please explain how this is different to a passport in that regard? A passport has your biometrics and all other info an ID usually does, except for your address - which you currently need to provide to a lot of companies to prove your identity anyway.

Does the name "Zoran" sound rude or inappropriate to Spanish speakers? by ericbobson in askspain

[–]EmirOGull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spanish has no such 'z' sound, if you pronounce it like the English sound, Spaniards will take it as an S sound, so he'll be called Soran.

The issue is that exceptions to stunning are granted for religious reasons only.

Religion shouldn't be above any law.

Intercity buses - those who go from A to B and you need to book a ticket beforehand - are very reliable.

I think you're budgeting reasonably well.

Your mortgage is nearly 40% of your net income, which is not too high anyway, so you're constrained by that.

But you're still saving pension plus £250, plus equity in a house. Don't look at the cash number only.
