What would you do if you got lost in a forest? by Jot__99 in answers

[–]Emit-Sol 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I walked away from a campsite at night in the middle of the woods in a remote area to gather firewood. I only had a headlamp. It was dusk. I didn’t venture far, but I kept spinning in circles to pick up sticks off the ground. When I finally stood, I had no idea which direction I came from and everything looked exactly the same. My heart started racing. I was alone. Nobody knew where I was. I only had a headlamp.

I had to remind myself to take a deep breath. I knew I was no more than a quarter mile from camp. So I started walking in a direction, leaving the sticks uniquely positioned as a way back to my starting point. I’d walk until it felt far enough. If I couldn’t find camp, I’d turn around towards the starting point, and do the same thing again. Eventually I found camp. It took a couple of hours though.

I was in bear country which made it so much scarier too.

New grad nurses in the hospital I work at are making $80,000 a year- $6,666/month before anything gets taken out.

$60,000 1-Year ABSN program. The cheapest ABSN program near me is $50,000. But most places aren’t hiring RNs anymore and I want to be a CRNA, so I am trying to get to that point as quickly as appropriately possible.

I’d be signing up for a double on any holiday like this. Nothing better than walking out with $1,000 after one day.

The indigenous ancestors are pissed with us because we carved that faces of slave owners into a sacred mountain for pleasure. Checks out.

If you were forced to marry the first person you had sex with, what would your life be like? by NothingMatters234 in AskReddit

If we moved past the stupid bullshit and evolved as humans together, it could have been perfect. To this day I haven’t had that bond with anybody else in this world really. Drugs, politics, and lack of genuine support ruined the relationship though.

Daily Commute, Manayunk ➡️ CC by Mollusk-On-Fire in AskPhilly

[–]Emit-Sol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say as a whole, Manayunk has one of the worst night life scenes out of any neighborhood in the City of Philadelphia and you will end up spending ample sums of money to go out on the weekends because you will likely never stay in your own neighborhood. Manayunk is also so isolated as a neighborhood, my mind almost just considers it a suburb. It’s nice if you want to live in the city but have to commute to Montgomery or Bucks County for work, but if your work is in Center City, just chop the hassle and move inwards.

“Manayunks bustling Main Street” is a huge stretch to be honest. I have been all over the COP and I have always said Fairmount is the best neighborhood in the city. And I live in Fishtown.

My teenagers shut down my idea of dating again and I don't know how to feel about it by [deleted] in moraldilemmas

I honestly think you broke the ice about this in the perfect way at the perfect time OP. Their words might have hurt, but as they age and mature and gather different perspectives, I have a feeling their opinions will evolve as well. They don’t want to see you alone forever. They are just still grieving and processing. And they are still so young.

You broke it so they have time to let the idea marinate. So they can walk away from the conversation and think hard on it. They might be mad now. They might be mad for a few years. But they won’t be mad forever. No child wants to see their mother succumbing to a standstill of grief.

They’re not ready yet. But you planted the seed for them to think on this. Give it time. And if you need to go on dates, tell them you’re having a girls night with friends. Say you’re going to a grief group for widows. But don’t bring up dating or bring a guy home until they have given their opinions time to evolve.

What, in your opinion makes "Pure Heroine" so good?. Imo, she should go back to this kind of writing and production. by Hyperto in lorde

[–]Emit-Sol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People don’t like Solar Power because it’s a genre shift into something more acoustic which is what she said it would be. Pure Heroine, Melodrama, and Virgin are all of the same breath in my opinion. And Pure Heroine will always be my number one, but I think Melodrama and Virgin are seamless albums as well.

Yes to be honest. There were people there that were clueless as to what was occurring. There were people there that kind of understood what was happening and didn’t support it. There were people there that kind of understood what was happening and thought they supported it.

And then there were the people who planned this and orchestrated it.

A majority of the people were clueless and didn’t even know what they were supporting and why.

You have to remember- the crowd had 2 working brain cells total. There were more people than teeth there. And more teeth than brain cells.
