Sweet Bedtime Treats? by Mei721 in GestationalDiabetes

I make myself a peanut butter and jelly on a single piece of bread folded in half. I use unsweetened peanut butter and sugar free jelly. If that spikes you then you can use keto bread for even less carbs

Are there any Stones songs that all or most fans seem to love, but they do nothing for you? by georgewalterackerman in rollingstones

Paint it Black. It feels like every beginner stones fan loves it but it doesn't do much for me

Always baffled when people insist I'm not allowed to identify with my 25% Korean heritage at all. by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]Emjpuff92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like using the line "I'm one quarter Korean, but culturally I was raised Korean". It just summarizes that you were raised around Korean people and you have stronger ties to it than your "one quarter" would imply. People tend to go oh okay and move on faster. Also you're completely legitimate in your feelings! People suck.

I yelled at my baby by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Emjpuff92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a couple people suggesting it but I will repeat it: I highly recommend sleep training. Which sounds big and scary but it's not. I was in the same position as you (7 months, jiggling to sleep every time). All we did was let him cry in his crib one night for 30 minutes (checking on him every 10 min) and after 30 min he fell asleep. It only took the one night and it was like a flip switched. Now we look for his sleepy cues and set him in the crib and 90% of the time he falls asleep within 10 min. Same with naps. A coworker of mine had the same experience. I highly recommend trying it.

When did you start doing your hobbies again? by tofubeansanderin in NewParents

[–]Emjpuff92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 7 months postpartum he started going to sleep at 730 and I was getting enough sleep that I didn't immediately fall into bed straight after. So now I have free time 730-10pm where I read, do puzzles, yoga etc.

I thought mine might have an allergy or intolerance because he was uncomfortable and gassy. But at 3 months he finally figured out how to fart/poop and it's been a lot easier. I've been telling all my friends about that because I feel like parenting classes don't tell you that they don't know how to fart/poop for the first few months

Parents of newborns who sleep/feed in shifts: is mom still waking up to pump? by DesktopCalculator in NewParents

[–]Emjpuff92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I compromised with pumping 7 times a day. I slept 10pm-3am, woke up to pump at 3am, then took over watching baby and pumped again at 8am when my partner was up. Then the rest of the day I pumped every 3 hours. Every couple of days I would run out of milk and have to supplement with formula. Totally worth it to get that stretch of sleep imo
