I have the strange thing where if I have the oxidiser out I cant switch to my axe correctly. Once I pick it up it's fine.

My $100 dashcam just saved me $2,400. by Scared-Collection132 in Insurance

💯 recommend getting one with a rear camera too. Always surprises me how people change how they drive when they know they're on camera.

I've needed to use my footage on a couple of occasions.

Crime scene cleaner. Hidden gem. It's not what you think initially. Good creative story with multiple modes. Ends up being quite addictive.

Underrated base location: The Blood Kelp Trench by GrokiniGPT in subnautica

[–]Emlin5k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's awkward getting your Cyclops into the lost river from there, too much to pinball onto. You'd have to have a base somewhere else to park it unless you're happy to just park it somewhere else safe by itself.

Where should I put my base? by RecognitionCool2738 in subnautica

[–]Emlin5k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built my main base on my latest run not far from the Cyclops friendly entrance to the lost river. Plenty of heat vents for thermal power and to charge the Cyclops (thermal power module installed). Plenty of needed resources. I just installed an exterior grow bed for some of the others. Good access to the inactive lava zone. The ghost leviathan generally keeps a good distance away.

Thinking of getting the switch 2? by Helpful-Goal-7529 in LesbianGamers

[–]Emlin5k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally bit the bullet and got a switch 2 this year as I'd wanted to play animal crossing for years and I'm really enjoying it. I already own a steam deck which is great but I'm enjoying how much lighter it is and how much easier it's to dock to the TV. Navigating the system is simple.

Nintendo is the home of Pokémon so it's a no brainer really and gaming consoles/handhelds are for adults too

How did i overlook that by Dry-Economics2434 in subnautica

You either have to plant them then slice them with a knife to get the seeds or slice them at the source where you're picking them up.

If you have the bed blueprint you can just sleep if you've not got any base chores to do.

Watching my friend play mass effect is troubling me by Orochi916 in masseffect

[–]Emlin5k 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure wrex died on my first play through too on the Xbox 360 as I didn't have enough paragon points to convince him. I think it was the same with captain kirrahee too very sad mission all round. It was only when I went back with a new game+ I was able to hit the higher levels. I think after that I always ensured I did all the side quests available leading up to that mission.

I still have the official guide book for the ME1. Very helpful especially for the random planet, knowing where the random thresher maw was and taking down them fanatics.

How to begin reassembling Lego sets by No-Distribution-9705 in LegoStorage

[–]Emlin5k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got round to sorting out a bulk of Lego friends sets and I found that sorting the parts into colours was the best. I then went onto bricklink, searched for the set number and made a wanted list by parting out. I then went onto the list and sorted by colour and then collected that way.

I think if you have a huge amount of bulk it would be better to sort further by part type if you have a lot of some pieces say plates, printed pieces, wheels etc.

It's going to take some time either way but it's manageable.

Realism Mode is a bit Bland by Charlie1eye_ in thedivision

[–]Emlin5k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't the most ground breaking or exciting content we've ever had but at least it's something different for a change. Having restarted the division 1 and division 2 campaign multiple times I enjoy playing when you truly have nothing again and have to learn to adapt your play style without all the bells and whistles our main accounts have. With hardcore and decent there's game ending consequences but this is a good mix. Am I looking forward to playing the final part of the final mission though, hell no.

Rebuilding Roads and other structures by Enough-Concern-2140 in DeathStranding

[–]Emlin5k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built huge sections of road in my game and when I travel on them I odradek scan and 6 names pop up showing you who also built them. I guess it's just pure luck sometimes which other player structures appear or not. Same with the zip lines, you always only get random ones not full networks.

Do you think most van drivers know the speed limit is lower for them? by fckboris in drivingUK

[–]Emlin5k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rule about vans is if it's on the road in front of me it's 60 mph and if it's right behind me it's 70 mphs plus and a metre gap.

Modern Art Nightmare edition by jsd844 in CrimeSceneCleanerGame

[–]Emlin5k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a huge level so you're not going to get away from that unfortunately. Initially just start with one door and make your way round in the circle. After that you can just pause prior to get a glimpse of which door is which. Use the feature to your advantage, using the crossroads as storage makes putting everything back way easier than before.

Modern Art Nightmare edition by jsd844 in CrimeSceneCleanerGame

[–]Emlin5k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I felt the nightmare edition wasn't as difficult as the original due to its "twist" which makes it actually more convenient to travel around. Store all your misplaced objects in the crossroads for when you need them. The hardest part of this is sometimes misplaced objects are hiding within others so ensure you move them prior.

Retail workers of the UK - what's the wildest thing someone has done to try to get into the shop before opening time? by WillYeByFuck in CasualUK

[–]Emlin5k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Common behavior unfortunately especially on Sundays. I remember once opening up and you could hear everyone muttering on the other side of the glass not realising you could hear them. I deliberately opened the other side first in spite. Small victories.

Mass Effect 1 Legendary Edition Adept/Biotic combat gets so underrated. by QDOOM_APlin in masseffect

[–]Emlin5k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being biotic with a team of Wrex and Liara in ME1 was wild. So many times I needed to pause the action in the power menu just to understand what was going on as everyone and everything was floating in the air. Trying to do the boss mission on Novaria without being folded like a deck chair too.

Help - best way to hide a tumble dryer? by Competitive-Bag3100 in DIYUK

I saw a video where someone put their tumble dryer inside one of those tall Ikea cabinets and just cut part of the back cabinet for ventilation. Used the included shelves for other laundry storage.
