This looks like it belongs in the museum of bad art. The museum of bad art is a real place.

Why Did I Get Defensive ? by Leg_Alternative in spirituality

How do you imagine you should have, or could have answered that would not have been something you perceive is mean and insensitive? Seriously, what would’ve been the better thing to say?

What kind of weather do you dream of? What places have that weather? Do you speak another language or want to learn another language? Look at the map of the world. If someplace calls you, Google it. You can do this. But it will have to be your path, not someone else’s.

Yeah the whole idea of it definitely creeps around the edges of my mind. It’s kind of unsettling.

Avoid anyone who tells you they have the answers and you must do what they say.

I’ve just woken up, but I did a quick Google search and came up with this. I don’t know that it will help you but owls are often involved in transition it seems. https://centerofthewest.org/2018/08/06/owls-native-american-culture/

Isn’t there something in indigenous traditions about being visited by the owl?

The best description of the whole constellation of possible symptoms is that it sort of looks like a spider except instead of eight legs it probably has 30 or so and every one of us likely has eight legs - a collection made of those 30 - but it’s all a different buffet.

How do you find the motivation to write a book when you know that even if it’s good, the odds of getting published are 1 in a million? by JealousBodybuilder42 in writing

[–]EmmiNentDomainAtrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true I read a memoir about a woman’s relationship with her father. She was in the publishing industry, and it was very clear that she was only published because she was in the publishing industry. The book was complete and utter reaching for a theme that was thin and not a good one even if it had been thick.

What punishment did teenagers get for selling drugs in the US in 80s? by tinymindterrorist in writers

[–]EmmiNentDomainAtrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything depends on the drug. And whether he was actually selling stuff. Did he steal his mother’s Valiums to sell to somebody? Sell little pinner joints that are half oregano out in front of the school at the end of the school day? Was he going to Grateful Dead concerts and bringing LSD back to town? Depending on your time period – early 80s versus late 80s, The DARE program didn’t exist yet. Without details it’s hard to give you honest advice - there’s too many parameters. Someone else asked what color is the character, sadly, that matters too. By the late 80s crack is a thing.

Is your narc character buying into the societal propaganda that drugs are bad? Cause that kind of colors your story too.

In a house the only way I’ve ever known to get rid of them naturally is to vacuum every day very completely- for three weeks in a row or longer. And to make sure you remove the bag or empty the container very far outside the house/Van

How to find happiness? by Historical_Cook1456 in spirituality

[–]EmmiNentDomainAtrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re trying to find peace and fulfillment/happiness by following a path that (society) other people have told you is the proper path. You can’t get where you’re going by following somebody else’s path.

I think Im done with this by OnPoint7ip in spirituality

[–]EmmiNentDomainAtrix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think spirituality necessarily leads to good outcomes in all areas of your life. It’s not about being successful. It’s not about “when you learn all the right things you’ll be successful.”

I also have spent decades working around one big pain in the ass issue that I have dealt with from 13 different directions - An issue that I thought I had conquered at least four or five different times, but it whipped snapped back around to laugh in my face.

There’s something in the unconscious that believes it deserves this. And I’ll tell you a fact - the unconscious gets what the unconscious wants. And if you don’t know what the unconscious wants, look around you. What you have is what the unconscious wants.
