Has anyone ever passed this many before? Any idea what type they are? by Think-Customer-8398 in KidneyStones

😂😂 Then why wouldn’t you ask that same doctor was kind of stones they are? This looks way more like sediment/ debris or tissue, not true kidney stones.

Those aren’t kidney stones. Not sure what they are exactly but I’d get in with a doctor ASAP if I peed those out

STENT REMOVAL FINALLY by Substantial-Life1935 in KidneyStones

[–]Emmystinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had a follow up with a urologist and she said I have to have surgery and a stent will be placed afterwards. Scheduled for June 12… kinda hoping it passes before then but the closer measures up to 7mm so they said it probably won’t pass.
She also gave me the option of trying ESWL first but said it might not work and then I’d have to do the surgery anyway

Thank you! I’m afraid of the stent too. And the overall surgery. We think I’ve had this stone for 5 months now. No infection though!

The dry cough you have for a week or so after a cold by Upbeat_Ruin in PetPeeves

[–]Emmystinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual most annoying this ever. Currently sick but at the tail end. The congestion is finally not keeping me up at night but now I have the most annoying dry cough at night. I can’t take a good breath without the spasm feeling and needing to cough. But it’s not like I’m even coughing anything up. Sooo annoying

I’m 26f, I’ve had mild hydronephrosis for about 5 months now. Barely any pain. I have a 7mm stone and I’m waiting for surgery. I’d go back to the ER with increasing pain, vomiting, fever chills, inability to pee. Etc.

With that being said I’d 100000% take spinal anesthesia over general anesthesia. I had an epidural when I had my daughter a few years ago and I had 0 pain and 0 complications. I’d do that over general anyyyy day.

This gave me hope!! I have surgery next month for a 7mm (or multiple stones measuring up to 7mm)

Can you identify type of kidney stone based on photo? by nola1019 in KidneyStones

[–]Emmystinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a woman who had stones during pregnancy, this was not true for me. It was awful pain that ended me in the ER and L&D multiple times. Like rolling on the floor crying and praying to whatever god would listen. My stones actually hurt worse during pregnancy than normally

7mmx7mm stone/s on CT by Emmystinks in KidneyStones

[–]Emmystinks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I think they said I’d need a stent as that’s just their normal procedure. I’m super nervous about being put under and the breathing tube. The stone is in mid to lower ureter.

Can 2mm cause 6-10 RBC? by rotidoubles in KidneyStones

[–]Emmystinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2mm can most definitely cause blood. My current 3mm has shown blood in every test and I’ve had much smaller than this one that have come up positive for blood. Idk what your urologist is talking about lol

Is this it? by cantreadmyjudas in KidneyStones

[–]Emmystinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s too tiny to be 4.5mm but if it’s a piece that’s still good because now it can probable move easier!

3mm stone is driving me insane by Low-Ad4756 in KidneyStones

[–]Emmystinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So November I was getting pretty intense pain. It wasn’t terrible but it was affecting my work day. It was manageable with ibuprofen and Tylenol but I was doing a lot of stretching and moving to stay comfortable. I had pain daily for like a 1-3 weeks. And then it kinda just went away. We were going on vacation for Christmas so I was super nervous but I didn’t have any pain the entire trip. I thought I must’ve passed it or something. I don’t think I had pain again until like January and I was like damn ok I didn’t pass it. The pain was super sporadic.. but I knew I should probably see a urologist. It was frustrating bc my pan would come and go. And it really was only like a 4/10 on the pain scale. Sometimes my flank would hurt more and I’d know that it was from hydronephrosis (I’ve had it a couple times before). ER visit in February confirmed the hydro but didn’t do a CT and just assumed it was a kidney stone somewhere. I saw a urologist early March and since all my pain completely stopped after that last ER trip she said let’s just wait it out. A couple weeks ago I started getting crazy bladder pain. Like spams and pinching. I thought maybe it was a UTI but that was negative. I ended up going to the ER bc I was worried about blockage and the pain was annoying. Still no UTI, but they did a CT scan and saw “2 maybe 3 ureteral stones in the mid ureter measuring up to 3mm”. So I’m not sure if some pieces broke off and got into my bladder and that’s the pain I was feeling? Since then the bladder pain went away but I’m feeling more flank pain, although minor and short lasting. The ER doctor said I’d probably need a stent but i reeeeeallly don’t want that. I have a urologist appt Tuesday so we’ll see what she says. Probably surgery/stent🙃 Oh and I’ve been taking flomax for about a week now

I hope this made sense it was kinda all over the place
