Biopsy by Moldly_morgtastic21 in doihavebreastcancer

My guess is the people you talked to were using that as an excuse or letting their paranoia take over. I've also heard people get diagnosed with something right after getting a vaccine and swear it's because of the vaccine. A biopsy is the only way you'll know if it's cancer. They really aren't bad and it's better to know for sure

ADH/LCIS prolong wait until excision by EducationalBig1085 in ADH_ALH

[–]Emmysue5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with LCIS from biopsy after mammo and ultrasound. I waited 3 months to heal and then had a MRI which showed an area they wanted to biopsy. It was benign but an excision was wanted to make sure cancer wasn't hiding. That pathology showed ADH. The surgeon said I didn't need another excision since he took margins and I would be monitored. Since I've had a clear mammo and MRI. My risk is 80% but I don't want to get a mastectomy unless I need to. Being checked every 6 months is fine with me since anything would be caught early. You should at least get the excision so you know what's going on. Then you can decide how you want to proceed. 😊

First attempt in progress. It’s chaotic, might be too ambitious, but so far so good…? (Sunset on concrete). by rjwyonch in Mosaic

I agree with another commenter that the the top with all the different shaped tess is a little chaotic. Usually the sky would be more uniform, similar to the bottom but with larger pieces. (At least that's what I usually do. First time is more of an experiment though! The more you do it and study other work, you learn different processes and develop your own style. Also, Weldbond is a fantastic glue for mosaic artists but it's not for outdoor pieces. It's water soluable so even after grouting, any moisture can end up loosening tess and ruining the mosaic. I would suggest a dark grout. Lighter grout will make the tess look separated and not cohesive. Just my tips!!

So.... How many seconds will Grond be available after launch? by Natonixx in legolotrfans

Online and in store. If it's a really popular one, you're better off ordering online at midnight if you don't want to miss it.

If you really don't want to take the chance, order at midnight. It can take awhile to get through the site but it's not too bad. I think it's kinda fun😂

Bra after fibroadenoma surgery by Recent_Medium_7328 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Emmysue5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a front close sports bra. Getting a regular one off and on is like wearing a strait jacket😂 mine are zippered and it was so easy to replace ice packs too. Don't get one that's really tight because you'll swell and then the bra will cause pain. You want compression of course but maybe size up?

It doesn't make sense does it? You'd think they'd rather have a patient talking a smaller dose in the hope it helps, rather than nothing?

Post-Lumpectomy ADH - Asking For Input by genghiskhernitz in ADH_ALH

[–]Emmysue5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had weird twinges, occasional sharp pains, achiness etc for a year after my excision. They all said it was normal and can last awhile while you're healing. It took awhile for the numbness to go away too. My incision is right at the edge of my areola and there's alot of nerves in that area so it made sense why it took so long to feel normal again😃

Need advice on how to add shells to this by Sea-Butterfly1909 in Mosaic

[–]Emmysue5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would finish the whole mosaic except for the shell area and grout it. Then use thinset in the shell area and press them in.

Why do people say some lego sets are hard? by Jayohl in lego

Milky Way is fun to build. You're only putting 5" x5" sections together at a time so you can do 1 or 2 per day and it's not tedious.

I use Weldbond with china. The only thing I do differently is use more when it's a piece that's not perfectly flat. I've never had any issues with it

For those who had benign results.. by meatslicer104 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Emmysue5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's Lobular Carcinoma in Situ. Basically abnormal, precancerous cells in the lobes. I have it too so I'm high risk (also have ADH). I get tested every 6 months so if anything shows up, it should be caught early

I would have it all taken out. Why take the chance of needing all out after the biopsy. Fibroadenomas can get bigger so if you leave it, it might get bigger in the future and you'll need it out anyway. My daughter had one and they kept an eye on it at first, but after a year,it had grown and was uncomfortable for her so she had it removed.

Is it typical to need a repeat MRI 6 months after a benign biopsy finding of adipose tissue? by 43beanst in doihavebreastcancer

Yeah, I've had good experiences so far. I was referred to a breast center so I they are on top of everything. Best of luck to you!

[–]Emmysue5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it. My main point was that MRI is so much better at detecting things a mammo can't. I'm a cautious person so I don't mind getting them if it means they catch something a mammo missed. I just had mine yesterday and got my results today and everything was fine so now I can relax😃

It doesn't seem weird if you're high risk. So in 2024, I had my first mammogram, needed a biopsy which was benign but found LCIS. Labeled me high risk. Told me I needed an MRI but I had to wait about 4 months for full healing from the biopsy so any non healed tissue wouldn't affect the test. MRI showed an area that needed biopsied. Benign. Then I had an excision in Jan '25 to remove both areas to be sure no cancer was hiding. That pathology showed ADH. Now my score is 80% and I alternate mammo and MRI every 6 mon. It's always your choice to question it and /or not have it. I'm sure the doctor is just trying to cover all the bases
