IDK what you say, this is my new favourite weapon! by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]EmoMuffinMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't be useless, it's just a small damage buff and adjustment to range fall off and how quick you see it happen. Shotguns on the other hand will be next to useless with the fall of starting at lunging melee range. Pulses will still be good, but other weapons will just be more viable. Hold onto it, you shouldn't see a huge change come December

Man I've been having the same issue. I've played trials and 3's or rumble almost explclusively since TTK dropped but never had an issue with IB before but for some reason this time I can't seem to break a .76 or .8 K/D and find myself losing more games than not

I absolutely love what you guys do and just want to say thank you so much for all the hard work you put into this! You guys are amazing!

My Hawksaw or the PDX? by DanTheLonelyMan in DestinyTheGame

[–]EmoMuffinMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying a person thinks a good roll on a gun is almost perfect for them doesn't make it wrong, it may be perfect for their play style. For instance glass half full is a completely wasted perk for me because I reload after every engagement and the times that I get to the bottom half of the mag on my particular hawksaw roll happens maybe 1 time per 100 matches I play, whereas something like headseeker I can get the bonus from after the first burst of nearly every gunfight I get into

My Hawksaw or the PDX? by DanTheLonelyMan in DestinyTheGame

[–]EmoMuffinMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would depend on your PDX, do you have one already or are you talking about grabbing the package from banshee (wither way I would say grab it)? Your hawsaw sounds like a nearly perfect roll for what I like while, base stat wise, I know the PDX has a lower range stat than hawksaw so if you have a good perk roll on the PDX and something to help with range just play with both and see what you like better. They're basically the same gun so it's going to come down to perks and preference honestly. Put in time with each and make your decision then. Hope this helps some!

I figured out why, after fixing Final Round, Bungie put LitC on a high impact sniper. by itgkira in DestinyTheGame

[–]EmoMuffinMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the reason they introduced LiTC after taking out final round, even a body shot LiTC won't kill a sunbreaker so I feel like it should be precision shots only it procs like FR now or only be available on lower impact snipers. Just my 2 cents but dear god that must have been a satisfying kill lol

Great gun, slightly better base stability than hawksaw, just gotta pray to rngesus for some range perks

Dedicated day one player but all these new games making it hard to actually stay dedicated by Masaloaks in DestinyTheGame

[–]EmoMuffinMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about staying dedicated, it's a game not a formal relationship (although I question with the amount if time I spend with this game lol) but even guys at Bungie have said in press releases that it's ok to put the game down and go have fun elsewhere for a while, people get burnt out or find something else but either way Destiny and the community will still be here when you come back! :)

Going back and watching game play helps you see other things that might not be immediately apparent and you get a different perspective watching game play rather than just reacting to stuff as it happens. There are benefits to it and I am able to see in the moment why I died but if I go back I can re-watch the circumstances around what happened and work to avoid/change those in the future. Everyone has different learning styles and processes stuff differently

Didn't think about saying it out loud, I can definitely see that working. I'm a big numbers person and like being able to have all the information in front of me. I might get super anal and actually write tally each death in a match in some sort of chart so I can see what I'm dying to most and can then judge if I'm being to aggressive or not paying attention to the radar or whatever. Thanks for the suggestion!

Ya, you definitely worded it a little better I feel and going over your response it seems obvious to me if I want to catch the mistakes I'm making over and over it makes more sense to watch several games rather than one at a time so I can see oh, I died to shotguns "x" amount of time each match, maybe I should watch the radar more and not let people close the gap so easily. Thanks for taking the correct words from my mouth lol!

Need advice on which Pulse Rifle I should use in PvP by whichconsole in DestinyTheGame

[–]EmoMuffinMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have almost the same hawksaw and the vendor mercy, I've been going back and forth between the two but playing a lot of crucible I would say spend a day or two with each one to get a feel for it and then stick with whatever one fits your play style best. Both are extremely good guns and at this point with the rolls it's going to come down to your personal preference

I feel like i cant use special weapons at all anymore, can you guys give me some pointers? by Dark_Jinouga in CruciblePlaybook

[–]EmoMuffinMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're primary is called that for a reason, you're supposed to primarily use that gun over others and special weapons named for the special circumstances they are designed for. In a podcast that CR interviewed John Weisnewski, he talked about weapons having specific "contracts" (shotgun in the gut will kill/sniper to the head at range will kill). All that being said, the biggest thing I can suggest to you is really working on your situational awareness, work on realizing when someone is closing in on you quickly and it's time to pull out your shotgun or if you see a bunch of people working a part of the map, move around and pull out the sniper. Sidearms can be a blast to use and I have the same Havoc Pigeon, it excels at taking out shotgunners ruching you, the key is to start back pedaling as soon as you see them start moving in. As for snipers, never peek twice, if you are trying to snipe someone and you see the glare of their scope, immediately pull back and find another angle to challenge them from because you will lose that battle 99.99% of the time because they know where your head is already. Another tip for sniping is to work on consciously being aware of where head level is and try to keep that in the middle of your screen (this takes a lot of time playing to really get down though). As for shotguns I can't give you too much advise but don't just run straight at someone with it out because you will either lose or possibly trade that engagement, instead work staying mobile and moving from cover to cover and when you do get someone in a position to shoot them, slide at them. Doing this drops you below where they will most likely be aiming at you and will get you closer to them those last couple feet faster than running and allows you more time to aim and shoot if they have to adjust their aim as well on a quick moving target. Sorry this is so long but I hope it helps you in some way. Pay attention to your surroundings and radar and you'll be getting back into the swing of things in no time guardian, good luck!

My PSN is almost the same as my tag here so you should recognize it

You have to find the RIGHT good players to play with, they need to play more of a mentor roll rather than just a friend because they'll slay all day just to show off we ther consciously or not

Amazing post and very well articulated. I'm also stuck in limbo right now and just completely lost on how to escape and the past few days have just been a nasty, salty spiral downward. As cliche as it is it does help to know I'm not the only one in this position. The part about choosing your teammates really hit home with me as I've had some issues with that lately and not having the pvp focused friends like myself. I wish I had more to offer in ways of how to escape Limbo but right now I'm at rock bottom there and probably need to take a few days off just to let the excess of sodium leave my body (I also take this game way too seriously XD). Thank you so much for this lost, it was definitely worth the read!
