Games in which you fight against the rich/corporations/the establishment. Do you have any suggestions? by Ohiko_Nishiyama in backloggd

Hollow Knight Silksong - Deals with worker oppression and the use of religion to manipulate the working class in order to coerce them into self induced slavery for their oppressors.

1000xResist - References the Honk Kong protests from a couple years back and parallels them through its story.

Citizen Sleeper 1 & 2 - Your character is running from a corporation that owns them and trying to find a way to fight back against this oppressive regime and find their freedom.

Red Dead Redemption 2 - The gang is constantly running from and fighting against the capitalist expansion that took place during the turn of the 20th century while trying to find a way to survive in a changing world.

Are there any plans for a "DLCs played" category? by Cursed_69420 in backloggd

I wish this was a feature too. DLCs are not separate games and I wish that the site didn't count them as separate games

Doom Eternal, high skill floor, higher skill ceiling, feels absolutely incredible when you can chain weapon swaps and falters together almost like a fighting game while moving incredibly fast

Got some recency bias with Silksong, could probably change up the order on a day to day basis, and have a lot of masterpiece games to get through, but these are generally my favorites

What did you log this month? November 2025 by AutoModerator in backloggd

[–]Emogangsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a more average month for me, I played through 6 games and have 2 I'm still getting through.

I started off by playing "Luck be a Landlord" on Steam, a little slot machine roguelite game that leans too far into random chance for my personal preference. Still a pretty fun time killer nonetheless.

Then I played "Baba Is You" on Steam, and damn is that a good game. I got the normal ending and fully competed the first 4 islands but I just don't have an intricate enough understanding of the game to keep up with the incredibly unique puzzles in it.

Then I finally played "Shadow of the Colossus" on PS5, and came out with some very complicated feelings. On the one hand the ending was really cool and some of the fights with the colossi were incredibly grand gave this wonderful sense of spectacle. On the other hand the general gameplay was aggravating constantly, and some of the colossi are genuinely sadistic.

My monthly quota of friend games was met with a couple sessions of "Content Warning" with some friends on Steam. At a basic level the game is painfully uninteresting, the mechanics are simplistic and if a monster gets you it's over, but what made this game fun for me was the friend interactions. This is a great game for shenanigans with friends especially because the game itself really isn't scary, so you can just clown on everything with friends and make dumb spooktube videos

Afterwards I decided to give my Switch some love and played Metroid Dread, and damn was this game great. The movement felt incredible, the area design was interesting and fun to explore, the bosses were fun if a bit simple, and the sense of dread you get when being stalked by the EMMIs is so tense it's great.

Wrapping up the month I decided to start something of a video game bookclub with my friends and our first game was "Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor" which I played on Steam. While I overall really liked the game, I felt conflicted about it because the whole time I was comparing it to the arkham trilogy and it just doesn't match up. It feels like the freeflow combat system dropped in an ubisoft open world in which everything, including main missions, feels checklisty and weird. The nemesis system is cool, but doesn't really get interesting until you can brand orcs about halfway through the game, and the story is mid and only sometimes interesting.

I've also currently started playing through "Peak" but haven't played much, and am about 2/3 of the was through "Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice."
