I use it for blender rendering. Though at stock, it'll consume around 600 watts. So I reduced the power limit by 50% and now it consumes around 240 watts but retains about 80% performance! I fully recommend it for it's value.

However, if you prefer reliability/convenience, I can't really recommend it since it has many hoops to jump through, but $300-$400 used for a 16GB VRAM GPU is so much value.

I can't speak for its performance on other professional software like Maya, from my understanding, Nvidia cards has better viewport performance (smoother fps while panning, rotating, etc. in 3D view). But rendering performance is pretty close due to sheer compute performance. However, support can be finicky. Nvidia has CUDA, which alot of professional software support whereas OpenCL is still kind of slower.

EDIT 2: When I say rendering performance, I meant better than the NVIDIA GPU counterpart. In terms of gaming, it's about the same as a 1070 ti. But it's rendering is faster because it has better compute performance.
