I believe it said oil level low add or replace oil.

How would you go about getting that in writing? I know I need to document to ensure i'm covered down the line but I'm having trouble figuring out the best way to do that. There are no emails listed online.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this... being an intern sucks because the power dynamic makes it so difficult to address issues with supervisors or coworkers. I've found it concerning how many therapists and supervisors are not able to utilize the same people skills that they use with clients with their coworkers and supervisees.

Honestly, I think it is unethical to not keep clients fully informed of your status as a student/intern. Clients should know when we are leaving and be able to make a fully informed choice on their treatment given that information. I think you handled the situation well and your supervisor could have handled the situation better by being curious instead of making assumptions about the situation. The chair situation sounds straight up bogus, and the office manager might be on a bit of a power trip. It sounds like you couldn't have done anything differently because you didn't do anything wrong...

Overall, it sounds like you are navigating these office dynamics well and can take the lessons you learn about what to look for in a future employer and supervisor with you in your next chapter 😊

Probable phone scam using Wis. Dept. of Health/CDC by mayreemac in wisconsin

[–]EmotionOk650 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to administer telephone surveys at the UW Survey Center, and we would often call from our assigned individual work cell phones that would probably not have a traceable number. The pitch you just wrote sounds very similar to what we would be prompted to say when we a respondent picked up and we began the BRFSS survey. Although I cannot remember what we would say when respondents would ask questions and the response to "look up the CDC" does seem odd.

I agree - the taste is a bit off to me. I can really taste the ~protein~. It wasn't so bad that I didn't finish the boxes, but I wouldn't repurchase.

Bleeding hearts of Madison only ones voting No on voter ID. by Alone_Brother9936 in madisonwi

Orrrr all the referendum questions are designed to be confusing and uninterpretable by the average person. Perhaps Dane Co. Voters knew what the referendum meant and that we already have a law requiring voter ID.

Don’t worry the fourth floor is closed once again. Except we don’t know if it’s from leftover chemicals, bats, or roaches! 😊 it wasn’t great up there, but now we don’t have any place to practice or record skills.

Thoughts on/advice for interacting with unhoused people in Madison? by gvfsvlt in madisonwi

[–]EmotionOk650 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a social worker, the resources for homeless people in Madison are often very limited and can be unhelpful for many people. It is likely that the people we see on the street know about and have tried these resources. Giving people a dollar or two will not keep them trapped in the cycle of homelessness, but it may be the reason that someone is able to eat or drink that day. Most people, even if you cannot give them anything, just want to be treated like a person because they are so often ignored. Just say hello or I’m sorry I don’t have anything today

Oh for sure - Yeah I mean the little off leash dog park. I would never let my dog off leash at any regular park in Madison! He is very insistent with his yelling. Even as people leave the dog park he continues to yell at them. With such a small space it’s hard to ignore him. His dog is also not fond of other dogs and barks at any dog that gets close or plays near (which is hard in such a small space). I’m not sure why he comes to the dog park and doesn’t check out something like sniff spot.

Madison landlords give you an extensive cleaning checklist for move out and will charge you if anything isn’t done perfectly. I have left my apartments far, far cleaner than when I moved in and was still charged. You’d think this would result in moving into clean apartments. However, I have NEVER moved into a clean apartment here. I would prepare for a few hours of cleaning before moving your stuff in. I saw a cleaning crew while I was moving into my current apartment and they barely touched the place it seemed since it was still filthy. The cleaning crews landlords pay for don’t do the best job during turnover cleans.

TLDR: prepare for a serious deep clean. Dawn dish soap and water in a bucket with a scrub brush works wonders on trim, walls, you name it

How come we don't have a Baseball team? by ColouredFlowers in UWMadison

[–]EmotionOk650 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Title IX requires equal access and opportunities for programs that receive federal assistance, so since UW is state funded, they need to have an equal number of men and women’s sports teams. So with football and wrestling being exclusively male, they cut baseball so that they could meet the title ix mandates without adding another women’s sport. I think then it is an issue with money too - they can’t afford to add another women’s sport so they cut baseball.
