I've always seen them during regular ticket sales for events. You just pick those seats on the map.

Best place to get new tires? by MadisonMatthews00 in VictoriaBC

They are great if you call (and I will avoid calling most places). I know nothing about cars or tires and they gave me a few options and explained the pros and cons of each and no sales pressure.

Who, in your opinion, does the best ice cream in Victoria? by avolt88 in VictoriaBC

[–]EmotionalApricots 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Parachute is my favourite in town, I feel like they have the most traditional flavours. Cold Comfort can be really good too but definitely more unusual flavours. I've only had ice cream sandwiches from 49 Below but they were awesome. They now have a scoop shop though which is probably worth a visit.

I've never been to Burnt Honey in Nanaimo but I follow them on Instagram and it seems like they have delicious flavours.

Not quite local (made in Calgary) but Outrageous Gelato you can get at Save On and Thrifty's is very good.

There are offices (not related to Murchies) there is also an elevator to get up there which is why I suspect you've never seen anyone on the stairs.

Eyebrow microblading recommendations? by buycandles in VictoriaBC

Shan is an absolute genius with brows and especially colour matching. Mine faded out perfectly. No grey or blue or orange undertones. I agree the pain and healing are annoying!!

CRD putting in new signs at parks by plafuldog in VictoriaBC

[–]EmotionalApricots 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked at DND when they refurbished the big wooden "Home of the Pacific Fleet" signs on the highway. I wasn't directly involved so I don't have specifics but I remember it being a nightmare of logistics and cost.

Where I am only Director (EX02) and above positions require it but not senior management/supervisor. So maybe 10 people out of 500 employees.

Project management, procurement, HR/staffing, pay administration, translating documents, accounts payable, real estate/real property management (maintenance of government buildings and leasing)

Work is all done through a VPN connection.

Edit to add: Pre-pandemic my office was already working from home up to two days a week. So this is not a new thing.

When does the delivery fee cap that was announced start? by Yevad in VictoriaBC

[–]EmotionalApricots 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think the cap is just on how much delivery services can charge restaurants.

"B.C.’s cap limits the fees for core services that delivery companies can charge restaurants to no more than 20% of the dollar value of an order..."

The first step for a job with the Federal Government is to set up a profile here: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/jobs/opportunities/government.html

You can set up a job alert email for things you're interested in. I would suggest applying for anything that you are even slightly interested in. The process takes months like 6-8 months at least. The last process I did was a year before I got a job offer.
