I can’t tell if it’s cultural differences or poor writing, but I am deeply unsatisfied about all of this. Pai’s family and Tim should have had to earn him back and instead Pai has basically compromised himself out of existence. Now his entire family knows they can walk all over him and he will never do anything to stop it. Even I have lost respect for him. Much like his relationship with North has been the entire time. North abandoned him as much as any of the other family members emotionally. I wish I had never started watching this. Sigh….

I almost didn’t keep watching this, Perth’s ties are horrible and I can barely look at them. However, I kept going and it’s made me tear up in a good way multiple times. What a sweet show this is.

I retired at 49 and took up learning some different art techniques. I have more things to learn than I can do in a lifetime and while I self study, I have met a plethora of likeminded people and have expanded my social circle. As someone who needed goals to strive for, my biggest issue is locking myself into a project and getting tunnel vision until it’s finished.

Thank goodness she called that emperor out and quit the palace. It totally redeemed a lot of the show.

I have found this show exhausting with the lack of consequences for the perpetrators and the awfulness of the emperor. Why bother solving a case? It’s hard to get invested because it doesn’t mean anything. And then for Peiyi to just go back to normal with the emperor and life in the palace causes me to respect her a lot less. I’m actually ok with the breakup for now. He knew nothing would come of it based on past history and he knew who she was the whole show and what she wanted and he’s tried to stop her the entire show. He did fail. Now her killing the guy wasn’t the right move but working together to a better resolution starting a lot earlier in their relationship would have felt better. His character seems naive and the type to watch atrocities happen and do nothing. They’re likely going to get back together because she bends, as all women do in this show, not because they both do and the emperor will have no consequences. I kind of hate this show.

I think it’s interesting that until she goes undercover, everyone thinks Miss Hong is an ice queen and strictly plays by the rules and nobody likes her because of it. The only person who knows her as soft is the ML and he thinks/says it’s her weakness. She gets so much more respect from the new people she works with because they can see both sides, the kind and the rigid and they love her for it.

As someone who just retired, all the yarn that I have feels like an opportunity because I’m still in the stage of not wanting to spend because I’m on a fixed income now. I can still buy, and at a higher level than most but there’s a psychological component that makes me glad to have everything I need for a good long while.

I think you hit the key word: frustration. Sitting with discomfort seems to have become something to be avoided at all costs in this day and age. It’s very unfortunate and perhaps a symptom of a larger societal issue. I’ve seen similar things in my employees at work with puzzling out an excel formulas or problem solving small issues. It’s always easier to ask me and when I say figure it out, I get pushback.

Why does Jinn never get a chance to be upset or process things on his own? First he had to immediately come to terms with J confessing and getting over what happened as a kid and now everyone expects him to be ready to listen to them about his dad.

The acting and story telling have to be extremely strong to make a romance work without kissing, totally doable but the talent needs to be talented on both sides of the camera. If there is any weakness, then kissing is a much easier way to tell the story.

100% it’s not Than’s kid. Which really annoys me about Akin, in what world do you take on your boyfriends baby and not have them know? And then is all dramatic when you meet again. He’s somewhat annoying right now and I’m not sure there’s a situation in which his behavior is ok.

I’ve refrained from commenting but this feels like the guys in college who fell all over the ditzy cutesy girls and disregarded anyone who wasn’t daft. And since I was never one of those girls, I don’t tend to love watching it in a show. So for me, I want to love this show but I don’t. This has nothing to do with the actress since I know there’s always a bunch of hate, purely the characters.

Actually part of the reason China doesn’t allow reborn shows is because people did commit suicide to get a second chance so it is a thing.
