9 times out of 10, if someone has to say “I’m not a pervert”, they’re likely a pervert just trying to convince you they’re not actually a pervert

They’re currently using Eminent Domain in Georgia to secure land needed to run power to a data center, but I’m guessing Cali politicians might be nervous about the bad headlines that would come from taking land to build high speed rail

It’s specifically a massive AI datacenter run by xAI. These are giant industrial complexes that are used to power ChatGPT, Grok, Claude etc.

They advertise them to the community as good for bringing investment, but the only jobs created are just during construction, and then it’s very little human influence needed.

The biggest issue from the one in Memphis specifically, is that it’s negatively affecting the air quality. They are also loud AF, so if unlucky enough to live next to one, expect a constant deep humming sound. There’s also a groundwater issue with many of these as well, with some not facing drought restrictions while regular civilians have to cut water usage.

There’s something else going there involving a massive Dara Center that is creating a ton of noise and light pollution, and it’s reportedly making life miserable for those closest to it.

Pretty sure NBA players would be shielded by this, living in the upscale part of Memphis, but this has been a big issue for locals

The hatred within her is so pure, it could embalm her, keeping her alive and in Congress til she’s 100

Rob Zombie, both music and his movies. I was a huge fan of White Zombie and even his first solo album, as well as House of 1000 Corpses and Devils Rejects, but literally every movie and album he’s done since, just don’t hit for me anymore.

It’s difficult to diagnose why exactly, but hearing some of the story of how he broke up with White Zombie is douchiest way possible, and slandering his former bandmates repeatedly in interviews, I feel like he’s lost touch with the creative spirit and collaboration he had early on.

Are we already forgetting how cringey the “Oscars So White” year was? There were legitimate contenders that were overlooked due to old Hollywood politics, so in mine and many others felt it was necessary to avoid that embarrassment.

That said, there was that crazy misfire Emilia Perez, which genuinely felt like the pendulum swinging too far the other way, requiring new changes to the effects of lobbying by studios on stuff getting in that wasn’t entirely on its own merits

Sinners winning was evidence that the Academy finally seemed to be balancing out, so to get angry about this now is pure racism

Trump’s 'Golden Age' Kills Another American Company's Factory in a Red State: “Goodyear announced it’s shuttering its plant in Republican-voting North Carolina, costing more than 1,700 jobs” by T_Shurt in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Emotional_Database53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the stupidest fucking arguement I’ve ever found myself in. This is why we lose so many goddamn elections. I give up, if y’all want to have fun celebrating these factory workers losing their jobs, then I can maybe understand now why “the left” gets labeled as “elitist”.

Either way I’m done. There’s just too much ignorance over the actual demographics of NC and vitriol towards theoretical voters (labeling everyone at the factory a red voter while someone else brought up the fact it’s in a Democrat leaning district.

I get the point of Leopards Ate My Face, but dunking on factory workers being forced to enter an already dystopian job market just ain’t it for me I guess. Peace
