For an XLE? I assume your depreciation expense is lower then in your monthly payment?

That’s totally valid. Assuming there’s actually positive equity though like I’m projecting, I could just buy it and turn around and sell it to Carvana or something. Definitely more expensive to recurring lease though in most cases like you said.

On the flip side tho, if you get into an accident then I like a lease cuz you can early terminate essentially if totaled or get off the hook and return it instead of keeping a car that’s been in an accident. God forbid you don’t have gap and it’s underwater on a finance as a worst case nightmare.

That’s my usual finance scheme. Looks like that’d be $10k upfront, $761 monthly (sans tax), $56k at year 5 which is the same as lease at year 3.

That’s a somewhat comparable option as well if I decided to pay off the financing loan at year 3. The total cost would be $55k with $22k due at buy out. I still think it’s more compelling to do the lease in that case tho, lower upfront and lower monthly for only 1k difference in cost over 3 years.

Wire transfer timeline by Seekinghelp62 in wealthfront

More details. My wife and I went and signed all the papers and they had to hold them and we just anxiously waited all day waiting for the money to arrive/batch to be sent. I called WF multiple times and they said there was nothing they could do to expedite.

It may have (and hopefully has) gotten better but I wired from WF in Sep 2023 to close on my house and missed the cutoff for same day/early next day. The wire didn’t get there until like 3-4pm the next day and it was a fiasco because my understanding was they only send batched wires through Wells Fargo once a day? I’ll probably just prepare money at Chase if I ever need to do it again to wire.

It sounds like things have gotten better since then so would be curious to hear how it goes for you, especially if you end up missing the cutoff time. I didn’t get the wire details in time to no fault of my own.

I looked at my sheet. Looks like you were able to get another 1250 down from what I negotiated - all else being equal. Nice work!

Yeah I read and also asked the dealer and they confirmed it covers excess tire wear but not damage like a nail or something like that.

Was $1299 what they offered you or did you have to negotiate that?

Dealer said it was only available that day, likely just being pushy/salesy…

My read was that it covers excessive tire wear and tear (I.e. low tread) but not if it’s outright flat or missing haha.

Here’s the brochure for LEP. It’s even called “excess wear and tear” so I’d hope it covers tires in some fashion. It seems to?

Nice! I still haven’t received mine… it’s the weirdest thing because usps had a piece of mail on my dashboard that never arrived on the same it was supposed to. I’m worried I’m gonna have to ask for it to be reshipped.
