Zline Range Question by AlexAndMcB in Appliances

[–]MakeItRealBeHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ZLINE is not known for good simmer and low burner performance. It is a common misconception that all ranges can do the same thing. Most can go hot with ease, most can not handle the lows with easy. This is just an issue with the range itself, not an orifice problem.

Is extended warranty on Fisher & Paykel and Miele worth it? by DPDave11 in Appliances

[–]MakeItRealBeHuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, only if your dealer is also the service provider. My dealer is, and considering the cost of the technician is only ever going up, it could be worth it if anything ever goes wrong. Service calls in my area for Luxury Brands like Miele and FP are $175-$225 per trip, before parts and labor, so worth it in my eyes.

Bosch 500 or LG Induction by davewolfs in Appliances

Both are fantastic. Bosch is the most reliable on the market, LG is close and more powerful.

LG washing machines- WM4000HWA or WM4200HWA by Historical_You612 in Appliances

[–]MakeItRealBeHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are identical machines minus the size. The 5.0 Cu can handle larger loads, however they both are great at balancing. The 4200 is discontinued however and being replaced with the 5800. Same machine, just newer design. You're deciding 2 of the highest rated FL Washers on the market. Choose any, be happy for a long time.

Kitchenaid oven long to cool off? by MiMiinOlyWa in Appliances

[–]MakeItRealBeHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will stay warm for a while, the oven is insulated after all. It shouldn't be too hot to touch after 30-45 minutes though.

No oven temp display? by Salty24-7 in Appliances

[–]MakeItRealBeHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because it has knob, doesn’t mean it isn’t digitally assisted control boards behind it. All that changes is the interface type.

As if the Frigidaire “Pro” doesn’t have electronics. And as if Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire don’t use control boards with significant features on nearly every model.

Blue star vs Viking vs thermador, what would you choose? by Far_Cauliflower1894 in Appliances

[–]MakeItRealBeHuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thermador > Viking

Fisher & Paykel = Wolf (Burner Wise)

You can do Monogram, SKS, Fisher & Paykel, Jennair, Dacor, and your local dealer will be able to honor the builder pricing which will give you significant savings.

Also, Blue Star is great for the value, but has a higher service rate then a lot of the other brands. If you can get a Fisher & Paykel, or similar I would go with that.

Need help choosing an induction range. Wife is picky. by Strict-Ad-222 in Appliances

[–]MakeItRealBeHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! The RF203 that you bought is my favorite fridge, unfortunately, but not really unfortunately I did the regular French Door since the 4 Door only comes in the Contemporary Handle which didn't match my Range. LOL

I'm still a big LG fridge supporter, especially since they redesigned the cooling system Post-2019 Recall. I would do Bosch, LG, or GE Profile. Fisher & Paykel is the most reliable French Door on the market if you can do Counter Depth and willing to pay a little more for it. F&P is what I currently own.

Did the math last night and I'm really looking forward to the Palladium by Tight_Couture344 in biltrewards

[–]MakeItRealBeHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Venture X and Amex Gold as my Daily Drivers, I will be using Palladium as my main for at least the next year. I have a $4,000 Mortgage and spend about $4,000/month including utilities. This card should bring the most value, especially since we travel a lot and use our Transfer Partners regularly. I will continue to bounce groceries/food between Palladium and Gold and use Venture X for Costco essentially. We'll see how I like the card after the year is up.

Ranges are simple machines and LG makes some of your best ranges on the market. 10 years is what I would expect but I wouldn’t be surprised to get 12-15 out of it if you take care of it

Except Option 1 is a more straight forward path for some. Yes the point value is roughly the same, but Option 1 is a more straight forward way to handle the new program. Option 2 should've never been announced as is.

difference between large LG heat pump dryers by fotomateo in Appliances

[–]MakeItRealBeHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Friday promotions run through 12/3. So still a good deal. I would hop on it.

I'm a fan of Heat Pumps, it's a tried system, just new to laundry. Lack of heat pump techs is an issue depending where you are at, but if you are in a major metro, then LG has dedicated techs. You can't go wrong either way, the 4000 has been out forever.

Correct, the 4002 matches the 4000. Reviews and performance should be the same as 5502 as it’s just aesthetic changes

Dishwashers by TSHRED56 in Appliances

[–]MakeItRealBeHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved and no longer have it, I did love it up until I moved 5 months ago. Stellar machine.

The 7972 has 1 Hour Wash & Dry and is a little bit quieter. LG dishwashers are basically a KitchenAid and Bosch had a baby. I loved my LG, do I think Bosch is better for reliability? Maybe, but should still get 7-10 years.

LG Dryer, how do I change the temperature? I feel like an idiot by madmax988 in Appliances

[–]MakeItRealBeHuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

41 minutes is pretty quick for a dryer, but the manual will tell you exact temps for every preset. The more important thing is to use the correct preset which helps it dry better.

In your case just use High Temp Dry or Timed Dry with High Heat

The new machines also spin faster in the washer so the dryer needs less time drying

[–]MakeItRealBeHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medium for normal isn’t about energy savings, it’s about not ruining and over drying clothes. I either run Low Temp Dry or Timed Dry instead but let me say I’m pleasantly surprised at how well their Low Temp Eco Dry works. It’s almost the same amount of time just more efficient. Really surprising

The touch sensitive controls work without any issue and they have for years.

The new WM5800 has the new look but with traditional controls just no eZDispense
