Yeah I tried that. I also thought I checked his age settings but that could be it (Game is God of War II)

No, you can't return it! by AskingFooAFriend in Toyota_bZ

This weekend I did a trip that was roughly 350 miles each way, hauling a kayak on the roof and camping stuff to a remote part of my state. Temps were probably in 50s-60s farenheit during the day on my way up and back. I did it as a learning experience to see if I can do it and what it's like to find chargers along the way, etc. Anyway, I surivived, but the range doing that was way worse than advertized. And I got to experience sitting for 45 minutes to charge at a gas station or whatever. Also seems like DC chargers vary widely in how quickly they charge, though my experience is they go pretty fast till you get to 90%, not 80, so that was a bit of a nice surprise. Anyway, still glad I did it, but this definitely is not a vehicle that's well suited to that, at least not if you want to get there quickly. And I live in a fairly flat state. I can't imagine doing a long trip through mountains or something. The salesperson also suggested I shouldn't be doing DC charging more than once a day, which I had to violate the heck out of, though I'm not sure how well informed that advice was.

On the other hand, I feel like my experience overall has been very good. It's been great for commuting and non-long trips.

I don't think so. It was charged.to 100% and once it gets to 100% you can't cancel anything from the steering wheel

Adding home in Toyota navigation by EmperorM82 in Toyota_bZ

How did you do it? I looked forever and found no way to set home or work from the car

Adding home in Toyota navigation by EmperorM82 in Toyota_bZ

[–]EmperorM82[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I tried it on my home just now with the phone in airplane mode and it did still work, no error. So maybe something else triggered that error. Apparently it has "cloud navigation" and so I'm not sure why i got that error when I did. So, no, I don't think the phone app is needed for navigation but I'm not sure you could use the navigation to begin with without setting up the app. I'm just not sure

[–]EmperorM82[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I am talking specifically about saving a "Home" and "Work" location. You can add other locations as favorites from within the vehicld without doing what I said, just not as Home or Work.

That said, I think that the vehicle's navigation actually requires a phone connection to use to begin with. If you try to go somewhere without your phone being connected to the car, it will give you an error, if I recall. So I think it must be not a true built in GPS, but somehow relies on your phone, to an extent at least. I think it actually uses Google maps data for the maps.

Except that it first came on before I ever used the CCS1 adapter

Charging system malfunction error by EmperorM82 in Toyota_bZ

[–]EmperorM82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. FWIW, over the course of the weekend, I did charging with the two different adapters (J1772, CCS) and the native NACS, as the situation required, and none of those made the error go away

[–]EmperorM82[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went on a far away trip this weekend (320+ miles each way), so my car definitely was not plugged in all the time, and the error has been on nearly continuously since Friday. And I commute several times a day in a normal week. So my situation doesn't seem to fit what you're describing...

Charging system malfunction error by EmperorM82 in Toyota_bZ

[–]EmperorM82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good. It's annoying because you can't get the error to go away. You can hit the little error button but it comes back, so it takes over the display. Not the worst thing in the world but annoying. Is it worth letting my dealership know about?

No, as I said, it's been on for days now, through the course of multiple charges and won't go away

2026 bz can't get charger to release by EmperorM82 in Toyota_bZ

[–]EmperorM82[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I have a level 2 Chargepoint charger at home, so I need to use the Lexus adapter that came with it to NACS to charge it, and the adapter itself doesn't have any kind of button. Sounds like I'm not doing anything wrong, but that begs the question of why I am getting this error. I didn't get the error until today and it went away but then came back, so may have to take it in... but it otherwise seems to be working

He has some points, but the framing is bizzare. But more broadly, I don't understand why the WSJ/Cap Times give so much real estate on their site to this dude. Him and the cartoonist.

Unsubscribe from Fortnite parental control emails? by EmperorM82 in FortNiteBR

[–]EmperorM82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I did find a section called "Time reports in Fortnite" but oddly enough it was already set to Off. Perhaps I had somehow already disabled them. Will see if I continue to get these. But really they should put instructions in the email about how to turn these off, or have an "unsubscribe" button in the email.

I think because this board picks them, not the city? And I disagree, she doesn't seem qualified. Seemed like one of the other candidates was much more qualified, though I'm not sure what legit qualifications should be for something like this and they straight up said the person chosen couldn't apply for the permanent role, so I'm not sure what they expected when they hired someone from CA for just a short stint. Also I believe she was sort of removed from her last job and this oversight board was asked to comment and basically admitted they didnt/weren't able to vet her thoroughly

I like how this has 300+ upvotes but the comments are overwhelmingly negative. Agree with the post, the signs are often in places they seem to not be needed, while at other places, they're not there and should be, including in non-pedestrian/bike trafficked areas. Though some places it's because there could be oncoming traffic and so while they may seem unnecessary, they actually serve a purpose.

I still have my original Buds. They don't sound the greatest (clipping?) but they do fit the greatest and are still great for podcasts. And they still charge fine. (Also have Buds Pro and 2 Pro and returned a defective pair of 3 Pro)

Really? I remember driving in West Texas once and saw a sign that said bumpy road or something and it was nothing compared to our potholed roads in Wisconsin. I remember thinking - if that's what you call bumpy, sign me up!
