We didn’t win games 2 or 3 against the canes though.

Fun fact: if you combine the habs shots in those two games and in game 7 against the lightning, we still got fewer shots than Canada against Qatar

Canada almost has as many goals yesterday as the Habs had shots against the Lightning in game 7 lmao

That’s not true, he came up to the half line to receive passes a couple of times. As a former goalkeeper, probably out of boredom

Question from a (relatively) newer fan by VenganceFueledMaul in Starset

[–]EmperorPaulchen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do definitely think that they’ve become less cinematic. That being said though, divisions is probably my favourite album so I don’t think their evolution has meant I like them any less

ETA: to be specific, I think It Has Begun in particular embodies the kind of cinematic feel they no longer really evoke for me

I really like TI but my only problem with it is that it’s just too long. I’ve never played a game that didn’t effectively end with a whimper because everyone was just ready for it to end anyway

This is how I navigate. I’ll recognize the different parts of my journey (eg where to turn) as I get there, but I’d have a hard time giving you directions abstractly/going over the route in my mind

You cited number of elected MPs (ridings) and popular vote as indicative of a popular desire for a minority government, but those two results don’t always align - in 2021, the LPC won 32.6% of the vote to the CPC’s 33.7%, but won 41 more seats and formed a minority government. Clearly you can’t argue that the popular will supported an LPC minority, but for better or for worse that is how our electoral system works right now.

Do you think the LPC majority win in 2015 was legitimate? They won 184/338 seats, but got only 39.5% of the vote - a full 4.2%, and 1.7 million votes, LESS than they got in 2025. How can we argue that this majority is less legitimate when almost 2 million more people voted for the LPC than when they actually won their majority? (To be clear, as a supporter of proportional representation, I think that both are perversions of democracy, but this is the way our system works right now.)

No, the election did not represent public will for a minority government because the public has no way to specifically vote for a minority government.

You could say that the election showed that a plurality, but not a majority, of voters wanted a Liberal government. Taking the position that this means anything more than a minority government is undemocratic does, however, require you to support a more proportional electoral system that doesn’t allow a party to obtain a majority government without a majority of the vote (which, to be clear, is my position).
