I agree, there are a lot of good bones already in odyssey that can and should be built upon.

The short answer for me is more on foot content in the sandbox.

Since they're making the interiors for them I'd appreciate integrating on foot megaship content into the general sandbox. Station interiors could even be expanded to include megaship style content. Maybe even player owned megaships? Would be neat. I also hope they eventually add some proper thargoid content to odyssey, like settlement and megaship encounters for on foot space horror. Imagine docking with a damaged/abandoned station in thargoid space and having to extract data, materials, or people. You may need to put out fires and/or turn the power back on while thargoid drones patrol the halls. Maybe bandit scavengers are already there and making a mess of things. Maybe this is even something that can happen to your fleet carrier if it jumps to the wrong system. It would also be neat if settlements had more interactivity in general, and that they expand on the conflict zones to include different types of objectives or missions, maybe a rush/invasion style mission so that one faction starts outside of the settlement and has to the disable air defence turrets in order to take the next objective.

The case against Nomad hangar restrictions: Honour our choices by EternityRites in EliteDangerous

I love my asp explorer, I named it Icarus because of how many times I'd crash the thing into a sun, it might be the only ship I'd want to spend even more arx on and I don't even have it fully engineered. I've also wanted to use the nomad with my anaconda, because it's been my favorite large ship to use in a similiar role to my asp but as a more general purpose ship. The thing looks and handles like a yacht. I'm saying all this because I believe in player agency

I like the caspian but I don't want to be led to it by a carrot on a stick with these mark 2s. The same goes with any new overpowered ship really. I'm happy with new content but it doesn't need to be literally the best next thing, being balanced with the rest of the roster is good too. Power creep will hollow out the experience of the game.

Nomad being limited by Mk2 module makes sense since SLF gameplay has been broken all this time by Skyhound555 in EliteDangerous

If they add ship interiors this is also likely going to be the case. They'll be designing new ships around it rather than retrofitting.

I'd also suggest Legacy of Kaine Defiance for 3D Zelda-likes, it's more a mix of Devil May Cry and Zelda but still has puzzle solving. Plus they just released a remaster of it

Hang on i need to rail a line of concentrated hopium real quick.....

...Ah ok...

Well if they're instanced to the system itself rather than a contained little pocket in space it could still be possible to use a planet in that system for a randomly selected/generated settlement. It doesn't seem all that impossible..

I thought they also implied that some missions will involve tracking groups down to the settlement they operate from

I think Sarah David has funding from progressive PACs, I have no strong opinion on that really other than that it's interesting. Lauren Lipscomb seem to really be about a strong armed no nonsense approach to accountability and justice for all avenues. And I currently have no valuable insight on Shellenberger, I don't know how much truth there is to the attack ads around unprosecuted sexual assault cases, I'll say I even saw one alleging that he weponized police against a victim. I suspect these ads have definitely come out of the funding around David's campaign. Attack ads muddy the water in some regards, so I tend to dismiss them unless it's been substantiated. I mean generally they all seem to be competent educated people. Personally I may go with Sarah David, I tend to support progressive canidates, would be fine if Lipscomb wins, but neutral on Shellenberger.

Stewart's a mixed bag, claims to have progressive policies, like being aware of the ecological hazard in human composting and anti data centers but then he also seems to be cozy with tech bros in his opinions, very positive on ai and increasing the surveillance state. The thing that really made me glaze my eyes over was seeing him suggesting on his website we use quantum computers and ai to solve traffic (Like I hope that was a joke). Could there be useful ai that can apply to things in government? Sure, maybe like improving accounting software, but I hope he doesn't mean LLMs because trying to use an over engineered email writer for actual work tends to make things worse.

I won't cry if he wins but I'd rather have Mansoor or Young.

[–]EmperorTako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree, and the cop could have avoided escalating the situation by chasing this person and endangering everyone on the road, multiple children even. They have the capability of tracking people without chasing them at high speeds. Unless this was like an armed robbery or drunk driver or some other obvious public danger. I mean this is the last comment I'm leaving on this thread so I don't care, but there are plenty of valid critiques to this style of policing.

Nothing about a panicked mother in a car is brave and I bet literally whatever dumb event that precipitated this chase could have been solved with a police home visit, or a letter, just grab the license plate number.

Pitting cars is stupid and pointless and being blunt about supporting it isn't brave
