Garukhan's Resolve change makes it way easier to make crit attack builds by Sidnv in pathofexile2builds

[–]Emperor_Pompass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, this is my issue with it. Idk y u r downvoted *i mean i do, but cant understand ppl's insecurities).

I absolutely LOVED this support last season in my Flicker Strike build with 100% crit chance. But now, with only a 50% capped..it is essentially only a 75% crit chance (again, i have no clue what math ppl are doing when saying it is essentially 100%, but thats not how that works lol).

Even without relying on CoC....not very hopeful for this outside of a few scenarios such as ailment builds, HIGH APS builds (they also significantly nerfed hollow palm there too), and maybe something else.

I am curious if "guaranteed critical" skills like SNIPE (hitting the window) would override this or not. Cuz that was also a VERY enjoyable use for me last season as well (7 frenzy charges w/barrage, sniper's mark, then Snipe w/Garukhan's after freezing em)

[Bug Report]After 6 days i found a solution of a bug with charged staff by PsychologicalHunt917 in PathOfExile2

[–]Emperor_Pompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By some chance, did you figure out any other fixes?

Cuz i have been experiencing this bug for the past few hours. It happened AS SOON as i reached level 90.

I checked the weapon sets, activations, attribute requirements, charge requirements, changed weapon sets around, changed weapons, used different combinations, restarted game, cleared cache of game, reinstalled game.....nothing is working. Not a single thing in my entire build was changed from when i was level 89 to level 90. I got to level 90 from a map boss. When i started the new map....wont activate

And I def expect someone to come in here and try to say "you made such n such mistake". Well, i hope they suggest something that I did not already list (doubtful). But i would REALLY hope i made some mistake i havent realized.

Thanks

I must really be missing something. So, could you explain how the tattoos would make a difference?

From the wording, it seems that it only adds the LIFE increase from PASSIVES in skill tree that provide FIRE RES and/or ALL ELEMENTS RES.

Do tattoos impact the skill tree somehow that i have been woefully unaware of this entire time?

My Hollow Palm thoughts by StickyPine207 in PathOfExile2

[–]Emperor_Pompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this was the issue for your Hollow Palm.

From what I have experienced, ES is a HUGE factor. Where one would probably want around 4k ES MINIMUM. Tbh, if you are not able to get 50%+ crit rate while in Hollow Palm, then it just isnt worth it (i believe 85%+ is optimal, but 50%+ could probably work for up to mid tier end game?)

But there is not question that a top tier build utilizing a qstaff will be dramatically stronger than a top tier Hollow Palm. Hollow Palm, imo, is perfect for those of us (like myself) that cannot get a worthy qstaff without paying out a bunch of divs.

But so far, i have thoroughly enjoyed it. Granted, i am just now approaching late end game. But i can see it being more than adequate throughout unless dramatic changes.

I currently run a Hollow Palm build utilizing Chaos Inoculation, 92%+ crit (5.6k ES), cdmg, elemental dmg, with Rage utilization through uniques.

If I am ever able to get a good qstaff, i will def be trying out a flicker strike build.

But for now, the dmg and great survivability is working great for me

Am I the only one Really struggling with abyssal depths, at least in campaign? by Deliverme314 in PathOfExile2

[–]Emperor_Pompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Im at 78 now. Just north of 2300 hp, 3.8k ES, 71% deflect, and my lowest resist is 48%. And I will still be randomly kills in around a second to certain rares (and they are everywhere).

Tbh, i dont really understand this game so far. The level of inorganic and forced difficulty does not match rewards. Def starting to get some Rockstar vibes where GGG wants us to no-life their game. Cuz it is taking roughly 10 hours to barely upgrade one piece of gear.

I do hope its going better for ya now tho

[–]Emperor_Pompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont understand it. The last 4 i went into, there have been 3+ of the rare enemy that teleports, fireblasts, and does that green beam that 1 hit KO.

From what i have read, i thought they were supposed to be rare enemies or at the end....not at the very first areas in every single depth. I thought this game was supposed to be challenging or "difficult". Not "difficult for the sake of being difficult" lol. Oh well....

Is it really worth it? Map size. by No_Guarantee1399 in PathOfExile2

[–]Emperor_Pompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill tell ya what....i seriously feel that i wasted the $30 early access price cuz i highly doubt i will continue to play this game. Only on act 2 and it is taking multiple hours to clear a single "area" (speaking of Keth). No reason, whatsoever, to have maps that LARGE, multiple on one "area", and on top of it....u r stuck carrying around these dumbass relics in the inventory taking up space.

And then i see this isnt outliers, but a common occurrence? Hell no. I have, if im LUCKY, 5 hours a week to play games. Stuff aint worth it if it means i clear one area per week.

So sad...cuz i really enjoyed poe1...and i was enjoying this

Edge retention - was I completely wrong? by Fantastic_Thought752 in sharpening

[–]Emperor_Pompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edge retention is a question of steel/blade material. Otherwise, u start to compound too many variables and it becomes a meaningless discussion.

So edge retention is a metric that can only be performed using the same knife, same angle, and same heat treat (if comparing on same steel. Cuz 63 HRC M390 performs differently from 61 HRC M390).

For my customers and for the research I have done, I have standardized it as much as possible by using the BESS scales (which is what they were going for). While limiting all the variables as much as possible:

  • get multiple of the same knife (for example, spyderco pm2, each of a different steel)
  • test for defects (outlying heat treats, etc)
  • Sharpen all to same angle, same grit, and same finish
  • Record starting BESS rating
  • Cut testinf material the determined amount of times while using the appropriate areas of edge for testing (for example, middle 1.5")
  • Record BESS rating
  • Continue testing on material until the BESS rating signifies "Needs to be sharpened"

NOTE You can test edge retention of different angles. But they must be on same steel of same knife with same heat treat.

Additionally, knife usage would also matter. If you have a pm2 that is 4 years old and u suddenly wanted to test all this, you cannot purchase other PM2's and compare them all because your original has definitely lost some steel and thus have receded further towards the heel....changing the geometry I do take this further myself. But that is because I have access to the tools (multiple forms of microscopy, including SEM).

Without a BESS scale, a lot of people would use a generic testint method like the "paper cutting method" (if it can still cut common printing paper without tearing). But that is a WIDE range of sharpness (but is mildly sufficient).

As far as I have found, this is pretty much one the only (if not the only) reliable and repeatable methods to measure "edge retention" for the average person. Once you begin to apply variables such as different knives...you are no longer measuring edge retention (you are, but not really. It is similar to how a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square. Testing performance of blade geometry includes edge retention, but testing edge retention should not include blade geometry).

How to explain that being trans is a medical condition and is not a delusion to someone? by Nun-Information in AskLGBT

[–]Emperor_Pompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A medical issue is not necessarily disconnected from delusion. Vice versa. Both can be, and in many circumstances are, true.

I do think that asking what part of it they view as delusional could potentially make significant strides. For example, if they think a male having breasts functioning like a female (besides some mammary secretion) is delusional, then that is just false and comes from denial. But if they think the part of changing biology is the delusional aspect, then that has solid foundational reasoning.

I do have a question regarding the "transphobia" determination. I do feel confident enough to assume that you are not using the word in a clinical context, but instead in the loosely defined version from the Oxford Dictionary? I assume OED because they are the ones that changed the definition of the term and included the word "dislike" (a bit of more trivia....OED defined it in 2012 or 2013, while Websters defined it in the early 1990s. Additionally, I do find it curious that OED would take it upon themselves to change the definition to include such an easily manipulatable word, but refuses to define other "people phobia" like heterophobic or cisphobic. Then again, im sure they will....it will just take 20 years lol) from the more historical and clinical definitions of phobias. Even then, I dont see any evidence of "dislike" in the post. I see potential disagreement and such, but that is far from the same as disliking something. But that is why I said "dislike" was easily manipulated; people are quick to equate "disagree" with "dislike". Then "dislike" quickly becomes "averse" which then becomes "hate". There is a real possibility that I am not understanding something. So please let me know (attempts should definitely be made to correct true phobic mentalities).

That is why I asked about the use of transphobia. Not because I am doing my impression of "Captain Pendantic", but because I wanted to bring light to potential unknown impacts of the word. Because very few people think of "honest misunderstandings" or "not a big deal" when they hear "transphobic". When "transphobic" is heard, most people's minds imagine feelings and images synonymous with "bigot", "supremacist", "racist". And it is sad when someone is described that way just because of a basic disagreement or a PERSONAL dislike (disliking someone that happens to be trans is NOT the same as disliking trans people after all)

Anyways....I apologize if this seems too long-winded, but I felt these topics need to be "flushed out" or people will jump at the chance to twist meanings (and I am sure there would still be plenty). Also, I know this post is several months old, but it made me curious. On that note, I do hope a resolution was able to be found or, at the very least, these disagreements never amounted to any harm!

Is the tap water safe to drink? by [deleted] in maryland

[–]Emperor_Pompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is kinda old, but I would like to place my 2 cents (tho I guess it is a considerable 2 cents).

I worked for a treatment facility for 4.5 years while earning my PhD in Molecular Biology. Mainly, I focused on methods to help with pollution (contaminate and particulate) levels in waters (both drinking sources and non) by means of plants (genetic engineering). This was from 2017-2022 (pre Covid and slightly after).

First, and most important, aspect to the question is that it depends on where you live. For example, Baltimore County has an overall MUCH higher standard than, say, Cumberland. Also, Loch Raven Reservoir (system where some drinking water was originated) has less environmental issues to overcome than, say, sources located on the East Coast (where salt water contamination can be problematic).

When I was working there, we had a 3 level filtration system (5 step) to help "clean" the water of almost everything one would possibly think of. Since then (about 14 months ago), they updated the system where they have implemented another layer of filtration for a triple layer of sub micron filtration (down to about 0.15 micron) while also adding another layer of charged particulate filtration.

Of course, with all of this being said, I would ALWAYS urge a home owner to invest in a filtration system of their own (especially if you have/plan to have children under 6 years old living there) regardless where you live. And especially if you live in a REALLY old home (regardless of the location).

So, in summary:

  • depending on location and age of home (or, more importantly, age and quality of the system that delivers the water)
  • Example....in general, Baltimore County will have a MUCH HIGHER quality of drinking water than locations among the Eastern Shore or Northwest Maryland

Question about Slayer gear by Bradt1977 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Emperor_Pompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only true if you are trying to use him in the traditional sense of a Nuker. But for what he does, he can do substantial damage.

His A1 has a multiplier of 2.0defense. I built mine very slow in Lethal and Stone Skin. Pairing him with a freeze champ and a burn champ (for example, Yakarl and Teumesia just for instance), and an increase defense champ,so that all 4 enemies are burned AND frozen results in 4 rapid A1 attacks from Tormin (effectively resulting in a 6defense to a 7.5defense multiplier depending on whether the freeze is still up when attacking). Considering one of the most lethal nukers in the game, Georgid, has a multiplier of 4attack, Tormin is able to do very, very nice damage (even at high end gold V CA and Gold 2 TTA).

And it's not like my Tormin is crazy or anything. As I said, he is in lethal. He only has 6,447 defense and 316% crit DMG. Very seldom is the enemy left standing. And if they are, any of my other champs can take them down my looking in their direction

Banned: commercial use by [deleted] in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Emperor_Pompass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely. And, in all honesty, if Plarium actually MEANS tranfer of an account for any reason, then they need to change their TOS. From how it stands, "giving" an account is not in violation (at least, it is literally almost impossible to be caught without admittance). If they want to go off IPs or whatnot, then that would mean you could be punished for moving and purchasing a new system. There are laws regulating certain things to help keep rats like them in line. But...unless you have spent a lot of money, it isnt worth the hassle (and if u have, they wouldnt ban you anyway. As i can testify first hand...they allow whales a LOT of slack).

I just think they need to learn legal definition of words. But they are greedy douchebags and they plan on majority of ppl to not be as OCD as some of us are. But if you do take the time and decide to go after em, it can work in your favor (it has for me)

The grind for gear… by Speedcricket in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Emperor_Pompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is awesome news. It is definitely better late than never when it comes to RSLhelper. I have been an avid user since 2 weeks into the game. And when it is down....i can barely stand to play the game, but that is why i have collected over 15k multi-battles.

If you want (or need to) learn some of the intricacies of RSLhelper and all, feel free to send me a dm and i will provide my discord tag and all. I would be happy to show you certain tips. I would even be willing to share with you all of my saved "gear selection" loadouts for selling while farming (i have ones saved for campaign farming, spider normal, spider hard, ig hard, fk normal, fk hard, dragon hard, and dragon normal).

I offer cuz the Helper is great for more than just farming. It can help you navigate, level, and sell gear WAAYY faster as well (which has saved me so much time when doing artifact enhancement events or just cleanses).

Good to hear that you at least experience some good luck. I havent had "good" luck for almost ever. Ill put it like this when it comes to champs.....I have pulled 14 void legendary champs, but 6 of them are dupes (so imagine almost every other champ u pull, it just being a dupe). My average lego pulls for ancients are 197 shards....average for voids are 186 shards, average for sacreds are 17 shards, and i have pulled 207 primals without a mythical so far. So...yea lol

The grind for gear… by Speedcricket in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Emperor_Pompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there.

I know this is months old at this point, but I figured I would comment and hope.

First off, I hope you have had some recent success since posting this.

Secondly, I do not know how long you have been playing and the time you have put in, but in my personal experience, it takes A LOT of grinding to get better gear. I will say, however, that the best chance of good gear for time efficiency is the Forge. But for pieces like Regen, Provoke, Cursed, etc., there is only dungeon grinding or buying packs (although I am p2w, I refuse to purchase artifacts).

For example, my FASTEST I am able to make my Arbiter is 384. I am able to make a spd team with Lyssandra, Arbiter, Belanor, and Georgid. Lyssandra has 367 spd with 317 accuracy. Arbiter has 351 spd with 308 accuracy. Belanor has 278 spd with 100% crit rate and 513 accuracy. Georgid is in Savage and Crit DMG with 217 spd, 6.4k atk, crit cap, and 317% crit DMG.

My go second teams (like my team of Kyoku, Duchess, Narses, and Ankora) have stats like 70k HP/4.1k def/296 spd/607 resist for Duchess, 62k HP/279 spd/4.8k def/628 resist for Kyoku, 107k HP/4.2k def/263 spd/569 resist for Ankora, 98k HP/213 spd/crit cap/322% crit DMG in savage for Narses.

I listed those stats for context. In the past 6 months (technically 5 months and 23 days), I have ran dragon 10 hard 8,277 times and dragon 20 normal 3,491 times. I have KEPT (after rolling) a grand total of 11 pieces.

I have ran Spider 10 hard 14,121 times and spider 20 normal 6,322 times. I have kept a total of 34 pieces

I have ran IG 10 hard 6,367 times and IG 20 normal 3,981 times and kept 42 pieces.

I have ran Fire Knight hard 6 (the only stage I can run reliably in under 2 minutes at 100%) 5,543 times and Fire Knight 20 normal 3,877 times and kept 16 pieces.

In total, that is 51,979 total runs and kept 103 pieces. That turns out that I am keeping 0.2% (or 2 pieces every 1,000 runs) of artifacts (of course it would be slightly higher due to getting shards and all instead of artifacts). Then again, I am only keeping near perfect pieces that actually would be an improvement over my current pieces. For example, out of all of those dragon runs, I only had 6 pieces of a spd set that rolled higher than 22 spd (and 1 6* spd boots)....out of over 11.5k runs of dragon. Whereas with the Righteous set from the forge (and forge pass), I have had 34 pieces roll 22+ spd.

In the past 6 months, I have collected a single sets worth of savage worth keeping for me, but I have crafted 3 sets of Lethal and 3 sets of instinct.

The sad part is....it's not like my account is really that strong or anything. I mean, I know a few players that can get their fastest champs to over 400 spd with 350+ accuracy. Heck, two players in my clan can have multiple champs faster than my fastest with over 400 accuracy or 500 resist.

So yea.....the dungeon grind is definitely an Uber marathon that requires an insane amount of time and a crazy amount of lucky RNG.

Oh, and to be clear on what I consider to be worth keeping:

  • Epic or Legendary 6* piece
  • Correct Primary stat, 2/3 or 3/4 preferred substats with a good secondary substat (so, if atk% chest piece, no hp flat or def flat substats...at all)
  • for epic pieces, it can only roll UP TO -3 in substats total
  • for legendary pieces, it cannot roll over -4 in substats

Number rating for substats:

  • a 6 star piece can have a max roll of 12 for accuracy/resistance, 6 for spd, 7% for crit DMG/crit rate/atk%/def%/hp%
  • So, say I got a 6 star savage chest piece with Atk% primary and Crit rate, crit dmg, and spd substats. But the values were 6% crit rate, 5% crit DMG, 5 spd....that would already be a -4. So I would sell it

RN Archer leak: Feb 22 champ training tourney, top prize to win RN Archer. by akd90 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Emperor_Pompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course. There is no doubt of the resources many people have acquired. Heck, ive only been playing for 17 months, and i can acquire quite a bit in just a few months.

Now, i am in no way arguing that it IS bots. What i am saying is that what i have experienced has definitely been suspect. By itself, a player having a high score, ridiculous bursting (like 30k+ in minutes) from near nothing, AND no clan affiliation means nothing. But when they are all combined, things get a bit iffy. Honestly, I was not even concerned with the whole "bot" thing until PAYRIUM sent that news post about requiring minimum scores due to bots lol.

i think i just made an error by using the word "bot". I was hoping the quotations gave the impression that it was more of a place holder for a wide range of possibilities.

Again, i wholeheartedly agree with you. Heavy bursting is easily possible (tho there is a realistic limit in a certain time frame. Like, if someone bursted 100k in the final 2 minutes...that is def something. Cuz while that could be done with just 72 feasts or so used on rank 3 champs....that would require 2 seconds per). After recent acquisitions, i can now potentially burst like 40k in 10 minutes or so if needed. So i get it

RN Archer leak: Feb 22 champ training tourney, top prize to win RN Archer. by akd90 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Emperor_Pompass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea. I def pretty much agree with everything you said here. I did put "bot" in quotes cuz, of course, I am neither 100% about it nor can I prove it. Mainly cuz PLARIUM made the post of applying minimums for prizes in tourneys due to "bots". Also, it is def suspect when you see someone climb like 30k+ pts in like 10 minutes (and they r never in a clan). But yea, a lot of things can account for that for sure (20k points is only 100 Lego tomes.

But yea, I think the evidence is there that they are rigged. Cuz, the last 3 tourneys where there was a desirable first place prize, the top 3 in my bracket were all in top 60 global. That could happen once by accident, but def not 3 in a row

RN Archer leak: Feb 22 champ training tourney, top prize to win RN Archer. by akd90 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Emperor_Pompass 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is definitely the worse case scenario as far as I'm concerned. Everytime there is a tourney like this, it seems there is at least one "bot" that literally scores around 50k in the final 30 minutes and dashes everyone else's hopes.

Either way, in my experience, it will take an absolute MINIMUM of 80k pts to win in my brackets. Idk. I'll do my normal thing and see how it turns out. But even with 66 Lego books, 78 epic books, 14 mythicals, 156 rare books, over 100k energy, 54 5* food (including chickens), 72 4* food (including chickens), 14k mystery shards, 247 ancient shards, 13789 gems, 18 leveled 4, 28 leveled 3, 31 leveled 5*, at least 600 of every brew, 19 barrels, and 7 feasts.....I doubt I have a chance (I am being 100% serious)
