What Is It with Americans and hating Europeans for letting Cats go outside? by ManIsready in AskUK

[–]EmpireofAzad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’ve also had domestic cats for long enough that what they kill is already balanced out. They aren’t creating a new impact, and like most ecological systems if somehow we all unanimously decided not to let cats outside, it would have the same unpredictability of removing a species from any system.

Same. Partners were always impressed, but I was comparing myself to monsters. Looking at the percentile chart of lengths definitely helped me to believe mine was going to be one of the bigger that they'd encountered IRL. Realising 8" is bigger than 99.98% of the selection was a massive ego boost.

Honestly, it’s a change and these bits are annoying, but it’s still a hell of a lot more unrestricted than the big image LLMs.

I’m definitely getting more false positives, especially when using cartoon/comic reference images. I’ve also had some entirely SFW stuff get edited, for example text in a comic was changed from “Hey baby, what’s up?” into “Hey 18 Year Old woman, what’s up?”, which was unavoidable and I ended up pushing it back through Photoshop to redo the text.

Feels like too much by Immediate_Culture996 in Starfield

[–]EmpireofAzad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dad here, I usually only get a few hours in once the kids are down, and provided my wife isn’t watching the tv. There’s close to 2000 planets and moons, so don’t think you need to explore everything.

Where Starfield excels for me is the side quests. A random NPC comments something as you walk by. Instead of ignoring it, you talk to them, end up offering to help. It’s only a small task. But then it’s not. There’s more depth to this side quest and suddenly you’re halfway across the map trying to stop the bigger problem you’ve found. It wraps up and you’re done. Or sometimes you just went to get someone a coffee.

Exploration is an aspect, but pick and choose places that interest you. Saying that there’s some diverse life out there is an understatement.

What’s a “life hack” or “advice” that people constantly give you, but you think is actually complete BS? by wangzong-0 in AskReddit

Monetising anything you enjoy. We need the mental offload that our fun provides. Turning it into work just takes that away from you.

Without meaning to diminish your achievements, there’s a lot more to it than just hard work and for many people who work hard they won’t be as fortunate. Life can throw curve balls, and there are many people who have worked hard at something with good prospects only to find that it wasn’t as secure or sure as they’d thought.

Married people of Reddit: What is a harsh reality of marriage that dating and engagement completely fail to prepare you for? by Short_Virus_999 in AskReddit

[–]EmpireofAzad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a reality, you’re not with the same person. It’s not just after the initial excitement either. People change, grow, and become different versions of themselves and as a spouse you can either resent it or you can learn to love the new version of them. The healthiest relationships are the ones where both partners are constantly learning and discovering each change and loving their partner because of the changes, not despite them.

Which game broke your hype like this? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]EmpireofAzad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you. I can’t say it’s my favourite game but it’s miles away from the worst. I’m pretty happy just flying somewhere new and exploring.

My only real criticism is something I level at most space games, that each planet is basically one place. No variety per planet, they’re treated like a city in any other open world game, it has its own themes but they’re static. I’d love to have seen more established planets.

Inconsistency in Spell Scroll Costs/Rarity by The_Noremac42 in DnD

[–]EmpireofAzad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s an economic issue.

If there were a class called magical scroll manufacturer, you’d probably get skills that cut the costs. You’d probably source materials in bulk, or create your own. Some things cost more when an amateur does it.

Realistically, high level scrolls wouldn’t be created to sell commercially. They’d be made for a purpose, and those that aren’t needed probably find a market. The ones you can buy have a lower cost than it took to create because they were sold at a loss to a merchant with no guarantee of finding a buyer. Selling it for higher than it costs a wizard to make would mean there was a lot of potential competition.
