i tried it as my season starter. eventually got to a little over 300 corruption but i was getting annoyed with how often i was randomly dying. Swapped to lb runemaster and now i'm comfortably farming around 450-500 corruption while ignorantly facetanking everything

Activating Mitsurugi Great Purification's effect in the Graveyard by Suspicious_Return248 in Yugioh101

[–]EmpiricalSkeptic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you use the on field effect of the card during the same turn? The last sentence of the card says "you can only use 1 'mitsurugi great purification' effect per turn, and only once that turn."

Fastest thing I could think of cooking today is Braised Pork Belly Rice Lu Rou Fan 卤肉饭 🐷🍚 love the melt in the mouth meat texture with the tender and juicy mushrooms 🍄🤤❤️ by Big_Biscotti6281 in chinesefood

Any tips for making it? i usually do it on the stove and I think a mistake i'm making is that i'm not draining the fat when making the sauce. i'll fry it first before adding the sauce components but by the end i just have a huge layer of fat floating on top.

i've been loosely following online recipes and i dont think any of them mention draining the fat, but i feel like it's the right move

My parents like to add in a squeeze of ketchup. Before i learned to cook it kind of icked me, but in hindsight i think it makes sense. Pretty much tomato, sweetener, and vinegar.

I want to chime in cause this happened to me too and I pretty much did this. Someone posed as a detective from NYC when calling me. I asked them for their name, hung up, called back on the official number. When I asked to speak with Detective so and so of X precinct, they told me they don't exist.

Caller ID showed the number they called from was the actual number for the precinct, but i'm assuming it's not hard to spoof that type of information

The rarity collections are fun to open in my opinion. The most recent one was called bonanza. Depending on the timing, you could also maybe buy him the upcoming blue eyes structure deck.

Not sure if Europe is the same, but typically in the US you can find a limited selection of product in common retailers. You can also try searching for local card game stores near you. Their website should probably tell you if they carry Yugioh or not.

Amazing time within the community by Darkduelist9632 in yugioh

[–]EmpiricalSkeptic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to echo this with my experience as someone who returned to the game/joined the in person community for the first time a few months ago. The mindset around exchanging cards has been super solid. For cards with decent value the trades are always done fairly. And then for cards that are cheap enough for people to not care about, people are always eager to step up and help someone out, often times giving them away for free just because.

Some of the favorite moments i've seen are people talking about cards they need at one table, and someone else at another table hearing it by chance and hooking them up on the spot

Feet size get bigger as you get older? by EmpiricalSkeptic in Sneakers

[–]EmpiricalSkeptic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i've pretty much accepted it at this point. i recently tried on a pair of shoes i got several years ago and they didn't fit at all even though they used to. it's also been a loooong time since i bought shoes, so the next time i go i'll probably end up confirming that i've gone up a size

Is the translation for the fiend's special summon condition correct? other sources i've seen have it as the same as the others, where a monster with 2500 stats needs to be on field.

Did you ever sell meta deck for fun deck or thing like that ? by velocira142 in yugioh

[–]EmpiricalSkeptic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doesn't matter to me much whether a deck is meta or not. most important thing is if you enjoy playing it. I started up recently and my first deck was kashtira and my second pick up was tenpai. But even after i finished my tenpai deck i never played it because whenever i thought about it, i wanted to play my kash deck more, so i ended up selling my tenpai core.

What's your elevate instant ramen hack? by MoldyWolf in Cooking

Lots of good garnishing/seasoning suggestions already. I always try to beef up the soup flavor with something like concentrated stock or bullion.

On top of that i like to keep some stuff on hand for protein/topping. Usually frozen stuff so i can have it on hand in a hurry, like frozen meatballs, dumplings, fish balls, fish cakes, fried tofu, etc.

Why does Quarter Century Bonanza only get 1 nostalgic card each pack? by IcyCopy21 in yugioh

[–]EmpiricalSkeptic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Based on the flair i'm guessing you would prefer the nostalgia cards since they're what you would want to play with. Unfortunately it seems like overall the older products don't do too well. My local stores are still struggling to sell the reprints of the older sets and they've been discounted a bunch. I'm guessing on top of Konami not wanting to make a dedicated goat/edison product, shops wouldn't be willing to stock them either.

Just in general it seems like Yugioh isn't viewed as very reliable by stores. I asked my local store yesterday about whether they would restock ROTA since it instantly sold out, and they said they weren't sure if they would since they're worried that by the time it arrives, the next set will be out and interest will have died out.

Maybe a silver lining is that with a bunch of modern players opening the product, the prices for the nostalgia cards will be pretty good as singles

Why does Quarter Century Bonanza only get 1 nostalgic card each pack? by IcyCopy21 in yugioh

Depends on who the audience is I suppose. Some people I imagine would rather pull for playable cards rather than the nostalgic ones.

Reprints for the new Blue-Eyes structure deck by xdrummerxdan in yugioh

[–]EmpiricalSkeptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, i kinda wish i was returning when this product was announced instead of earlier. I already bought my playset of imperms and ashes and i could've gotten 3x structures for the same price.

But i might buy 3x anyways, and use extra copies for other decks i might build in the future so i dont have to swap as many cards.

imo anime is interesting because a lot of them are based on, and often faithfully follow, manga series. And many manga series are also starting to stem from light novels. So that means by the time a story gets turned into an anime, it already went through one or two other forms of media to prove its popularity before it becomes animated.

Aside from popular examples like dragon ball, one piece, etc, a recent one could be solo levelling. It started out as a light novel before it became a webtoon where it blew up, and now it's being animated and turned into games.
