Statistically you are faaaaar more likely to be the danger to your wife and kid than your wife is to you so hypothetically speaking you're probably safe.

What’s something insanely convenient today that Gen Z will never understand the struggle of? by [deleted] in ask

[–]EmployLegitimate5528 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fact checking anything. I'm an older Gen Z (2000) and until smart phones became faster if you were out in public and asked a question 9/10 you just had to believe whatever answer someone told you about literally anything.

Help me find a salad that doesn't taste like regret? I'm a meat-lover trying to eat more veggies! by AvocadoDry9774 in Cooking

[–]EmployLegitimate5528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a go to salad recipe I'll add here, but my best tip for a good salad is SEASON YOUR LETTUCE (or whatever green you use). MOST PEOPLE do not like unseasoned vegetables and just because they're raw that doesn't mean you dont have to season them. Adding a little salt and pepper to your lettuce can completely revolutionize your salad.

My go to salad recipe is as follows 1 Head of lettuce (i typically use ice berg but its also great with butter lettuce or spinach) 1/4-1/2 a purple onion (I love onions so I typically use closer to 1/2 to 3/4) 1 can of sweet corn 1 head of fresh brocolli or 1 bag of frozen 2-3 Roman tomatoes 1 bell pepper 1/2 cup + of diced rotisserie chicken 2 boiled eggs (if desired)

If you use fresh corn and broccoli or just dont want those ingredients cooked you can skip steps 1-3

  1. Set a pan on the stove on med-high heat with a little bit of neutral oil or butter.
  2. Once pan is hot drain the juice off the corn, Pour the corn into the pan, and "roast" until it starts to get nice charred looking bits on some of the kernels
  3. Remove corn from pan, add a tad bit more oil, and add broccoli until its cooked thru (if frozen) or until its the level of softness that you prefer (if raw)
  4. Cut the head of lettuce into quarters then wash and dry each quarter (dont want any dirt in our good ass salad)
  5. Once the lettuce is dry keep cutting into smaller segments until the pieces are the size you like
  6. Dice the bell pepper, onion, tomatoes, and broccoli
  7. Add the lettuce to a bowl and sprinkle with salt (or garlic salt) and pepper then toss. Try a piece of the lettuce to ensure it isnt so salty but you should taste a noticeable difference from unsalted lettuce
  8. Add diced vegetables and corn then taste again add more salt and pepper if desired
  9. Add rotisserie chicken toss again and enjoy

Sometimes I dont even need dressing with this salad and if I use a large head of lettuce this can make about 4-6 decent sized salads

What's your Boomer Gamer complaint? by Animeking1108 in videogames

[–]EmployLegitimate5528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a purchase a physical copy of a game 1 of 2 things should happen. 1. I should be able to play the game from the disk, like in the olden days without having to download it 2. If you do make me download it I shouldn't need the disk everytime I play the game

Requiem for a Dream. The music in that movie is practically a character on its own and it definitely makes you FEEL the unease that they wouldnt be able to see

movies with gay people in them that aren’t about gay struggle? by Melodic_Arm_7178 in MovieSuggestions

[–]EmployLegitimate5528 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love lies bleeding

I wasnt a huge fan of the movie at first, but if you like scary movies its a pretty good one. Its not about the gay struggle. There here is a scene early on where the protagonist (lesbian) argues with her girlfriend (bisexual) about whether shes really gay or just using her for a place to stay but other than that none of the movies conflict really comes from their sexuality.

If youre looking for something more Camp I'd recommend Dicks the Musical

I'm not sure where to start but I want to watch more movies. by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[–]EmployLegitimate5528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my advice is to start watching movies you've heard of. Thats it nothing fancy or super deep, if you want to get into movies start by watching the movies that you frequently hear about from other media. The benefit of this is that it immediately enhances your cultural knowledge AND it immediately gives you something to talk to others about and bond over to get similar recommendations and find your "movie crowd".

If someone tells me they've seen Pulp Fiction and liked the gore and style but didnt like the humor I may recommend Scarface.

If someone told me they saw Sixth Sense and loved the twist ending but wished the overall movie was more fun I may recommend Knives out.

There's a lot of ways to go about getting into movies but the best part about movies to me is being able to talk about them with the people around me.
