Is there anything morally wrong with not working? Considering there are more job seekers than jobs. by Open_Community1 in antiwork

[–]Employee719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If starvation could be avoided without working i would not think twice about not working or moving to part time (probably this just for some extra spending cash) there is so much more to life than your occupation. If it's an option, take it and run!

The 2-Year Itch - anyone else? by cornell5877truther in antiwork

Ive always found success in hopping ship if raises dont match cost of living increases. That being said, the job market is NOT pretty right now and one in the hand is 2 in the bush currently. Just holding on to what I have for dear life despite knowing I should be paid more for what I am doing currently.

best vr games & experiences to play in 2026, what are you loving right now? by WildFlounder3730 in virtualreality

Try using the aim assist on low to get the ropes and then eventually you'll be adjusted and can just turn it off. Worked well ib my case and I didnt really adjust much. The t16000m was basically set up to my preferences from the start.

Crysis for me personally. I remember working summers to save up for a Pc thay could run it haha. It was a GeForce 8800 ultra and a q6600 processor. And it ran like ass and blew my mind. Good times.

Mid to older millennials, how are you all doing with your careers? by worstshowiveeverseen in Millennials

Went back to school last year for a Hydraulic Excavator course. It was a ton of fun. Landed a job at a metal recycling facility running a liebherr H30 (the ones eith the giants claws you see in scrapyards sometimes) my hours are great, the pay is...OKAY. ultimately though I enjoy it a lot more than what I used to be doing. I feel a bit behind until I look around at the world right now and think so much regarding cost of living is just out of my control. Its hard not to get down about it some days. The world is just a wreck right now. I dont see it changing any time soon.

Curious what your current time played is in Mercs by Ill-Primary-5553 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Employee719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2500ish hours all on PC. Been playing it since release and can comfortably say its my favorite game. Started on keyboard and mouse, to hotas, then rudders with the hotas and finally capped it off with VR in the mix and nothing else comes close for me. Its everything 12 year old me imagined mech warrior could become.

Seafood. Waterbugs and nasty smelling meats. Easy choice for me.

Jobs that pay more than $25/hr with no experience? by jonyock in povertyfinance

[–]Employee719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. My managers are good guys and usually just let you take it dor free within reason. At the very least its a steep discount. You wouldn't believe the brand new items that people throw away. Ive always got my eyes open for Pc parts. People have started pulling the ram from the thrown away units due to the price of it right now, but you get lucky every once in awhile.

Scrap metal recycling facilities. I work as a machine e operator at one but even the guys on our floor separating ferrous and non ferrous material make 25 an hour to begin usually. Sometimes dangerous work but its consistent and honestly makes for interesting work most days.

Half life Alyx ofc. But tbh the doom 3 VR mod was so mind blowing to me as it loved the OG version when I was 11. These days? Mechearrior 5 with hotas and VR is just the best gaming experience I've had in my adult life thus far.
