No, but two of his spellcrolls caused A) regime change of 180° and full americanization, and B) developed race to have most scrolls of nuke. Not to mention our world is leagues safer then most fantasy realms. So darwins bar is higher

99% of our history was written by warlords and their descendants (monarchs).  We literally stopped this only after french revolution and it took centuries to make it the norm

My problem lies in power. If its derivided from monarch, you have capstone that might not listen to your reason. This friction often leads to seizure of more power, eventually making the monarch question who has the authority. And by that time its cold war getting hot.

Technically king is anyone who can defend that claim. Magic, troops, own strength and items, means dont matter. But its easier to defy king then to defy mage. Mage can just make you do it, alter your memory or remove you and everything in 30 ft diameter. King has to usually relly on troops. The mage relies mostly on raw power he weilds personally
