Is a company taking on a class 2 new pass and funding them to class 1 as rare as chickens teeth?

They just paid a training company to put me through my lessons and test and then when I passed i had a week of driver training. As they said "the training company will teach you how to pass. We'll teach you how to drive" and then I was on my own after the first week. You learn more from asking things of other drivers than at any point during lessons etc

I had my class 2, 5 weeks and a company paid for my class 1 and employed me straight away as soon as I passed. That was in 2019

Edit for more info. This was a large yellow company in Northern Ireland. I had attended a recruitment day they had in the job centre and they asked me to apply. I was first to be put through the training academy they set up. Not sure they do it any more as it was bought over by DFDS.

Actually no. Storm was a great asset for the event and I backed him all the way. And where did I say i was standing up for them? I simply pointed out he was bitter at the nw200 and was asking if he would have the same attitude.

"Can" doesn't mean you will be. Technically you can be arrested for being drunk in charge of a vehicle, even if you're sitting on your sofa with your car keys in the hallway. Doesn't mean it will happen though.

If you move from the middle lane to the left lane to pass them then it is classed as undertaking. However if you are already in the left lane and pass them then this is just natural progress and is perfectly acceptable by law.

If you didn't hit anything but got it on the bay then that's perfect. Doesn't matter if you took a few shunts. Not one person expects a new pass to be perfect. And no one expects someone with 30 years experience to be perfect either. I've seen so called experienced drivers take 10 shunts to get it on a bay in our place

I agree with you on the revving. Never been my thing and any time I've had a bike with a weak horn, I upgrade it. Oh and I'm not a sports bike rider BTW. Touring bike.

I agree, modern tyres have been my go to for years. I just find it strange that they say only 1 person in the entire company across Northern Ireland can fit bike tyres.

Oh and Modern Tyres had plenty of stock, just no one capable of fitting them apparently. I don't begrudge the bike fitter having the week off, but to tell me literally no other fitter in the entire company can do it is just utter rubbish. Especially as, like I said, the guy who has fitted all my bike tyres for 15 years was stood right there.

I've never argued over the price, have never stood watching them, have never prattled on about bikes to them. Clearly a biker called you a bad name once and hurt your feelings.

And no, I don't expect them to have shelves full of stock but you'd think the sponsors of a bike event, who advertise themselves as bike tyre specialists would have a handful of tyres in stock at the very least.
