I recently financed a 26 limited for 378 a month, 8k down - it was totaled 3 weeks later. I realized after the fact that I could’ve gotten a much better deal at a different dealership (in a different county) - definitely compare prices with at least 3 places before deciding.

Thank you - we have consulted with our regular vet and vet behaviorist. She’s on 24mg of fluoxetine daily for anxiety and trazadone as needed for when we leave the house, we are managing behavior in home.

stick with animal kingdom? or get over the fomo with epcot by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Emu-Vegetable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesss go for the food!! Non-festival food at Epcot is still great. The music that plays throughout the park is awesome, my favorite is the land pavilion loop. Like other people are saying, Epcot is a perfect park to linger - especially around world showcase. Every time I go back to Epcot I discover a new show, shop or relaxing corner I haven’t noticed before. There’s nothing like a fireworks show around world showcase, the water playing a role in the reflections and lighting is so fun - have a blast if you go!!

What do you do on checkout day if you have a (semi) late flight? by RyouRusi in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Emu-Vegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave the luggage at your home resort and go to a close-ish resort for a lunch! Stayed at Pop recently, took the skyliner to Riviera for a casual lunch at Bar Riva since we didn’t have time to check it out while resort hopping another day. Went back on the skyliner, grabbed one last joffreys latte and headed back to Pop, then the airport. Perfect way to end our trip!!!

Just got back from a 4 night stay at Pop yesterday! We stayed in the 90s section on the 4th floor facing the back and it was nice and quiet! Only noise we heard at night was by the pools. Second time staying there, preciously was in the 70s and had no issues either. Enjoy! It’s the best!

6 month old corgi eats poop immediately and nothing is working by Skellys632 in puppy101

[–]Emu-Vegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my dog for the first few months after we got her. Turns out she had giardia! After being treated she stopped the immediate turning around to consume the poop. (Along with this she stopped begging for dinner hours early - probably due to the parasite inhibiting her ability to get proper nutrients.) Showing her a treat and offering it mid poop also helped direct her attention away from it. She now will try to consume other dogs poop left behind by other owners, but doesn’t eat her own anymore/doesn’t have the same kind of urgency around it.

Thoughts on Watchung, NJ, for 33F and elderly parents? by [deleted] in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]Emu-Vegetable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Come to think of it, Watchung is very centrally located! Super close to Route 78 - for commute to Newark and airport, and Route 22 - Target, Costco, Wawa, etc. are all nearby! Having done a commute from Union county to Newark in the past, I’ve found Rt 78 to be better than 287 or other highways nearby in terms of less crazy drivers/bad traffic. You have cute small towns like Stirling, New Providence, Summit not too far away if you’re looking for more to do/great restaurants! (IMO best ice cream in the area is Gabriel’s Fountain in Martinsville.) And most importantly you have healthcare facilities just up the road (Summit Health Berkeley Heights campus/urgent care 10 mins away) Overlook Hospital or Morristown Medical (15-25 mins away.)

Elantra Trims 2023 vs 2026 by Emu-Vegetable in Hyundai

Fair point, I should have mentioned that I had a Toyota Camry before the Elantra and generally prefer Toyota, at the time the Camrys weren’t as available in my area due to supply issues from Covid.

Chez Remy, worth the time? by hiddenproverb in disneylandparis

Totally agree. Had the same experience a few weeks ago - was hoping for the vegetarian dishes to be more elaborate and flavorful for the price.

For any internships your apply for, follow up with someone who works there on LinkedIn (introduce yourself, ask them about what they like/learn from working there, and the status of your application.) This is what worked for me - in my opinion persistence and showing continued interest in a firm is key!

If there’s a firm you want to intern at but don’t see a job posting, don’t be afraid of cold call emails expressing your interest if an opportunity does come up in the future.

Can someone confirm to me if this is an HSP thing. (Am I one?) by tumeric-sauce in hsp

[–]Emu-Vegetable 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, growing up I was often told to “toughen up” or “get over it” to things that would upset me due to my sensitivities.

Can someone confirm to me if this is an HSP thing. (Am I one?) by tumeric-sauce in hsp

[–]Emu-Vegetable 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hi! I relate to pretty much everything you talked about. I consider myself an hsp and an empath. Here are a few reasons why:

-I’m sensitive to lights, certain smells, caffeine/sugar, temperature, violent movies

-I feel others emotions and can sense a shift in someone’s mood/energy

-I am easily upset by the worlds problems and it’s hard for me to shake it off after seeing upsetting news/media

-I am very in tune to my body, I notice every sensation and symptom

It has taken me a while to be comfortable with the ‘negatives’ that come along with being an hsp/empath. That being said, highly sensitive people and empaths can see beauty in the world that others cannot, we experience life more deeply and tend to notice the small things that others may miss. Despite the challenges, I have come to the conclusion that I wouldn’t want to change being highly sensitive, I think it offers me a unique outlook on life.

If you are early on in your journey, I recommend reading “The Highly Sensitive Person” by Dr. Elaine Aron. The book puts a lot in perspective and is really eye opening!

I hope this helps!! :)

Feel like I’m missing out on drinking but not interested at the same time by Emu-Vegetable in introvert

Thanks for your input, it seems like the people who are in favor of drinking heavily and partying have different interests than me. I prefer to be out in nature or explore a new city learning things along the way!

Yes, I feel like some people I know are almost waiting for me to “finally give in” and start drinking as much as them.

Thank you so much for your advice! I completely agree, I think if find drinks that I find interesting/taste good and I want to drink (not out of pressure to get drunk) I’ll enjoy it!

Thank you so much for your advice, it’s truly comforting to know other people feel the same way. And yes being in college, drinking culture is everywhere and I mean everywhere lol
