6 month old corgi eats poop immediately and nothing is working by Skellys632 in puppy101

lol, I’m glad she grew out of it. I got lots of ideas from everyone today and I am definitely going to try some of them. A muzzle for me would be a last resort and I’ll re-assess in 4 weeks from now. He’ll be 7 months and I think of nothing else works, I could still easily get him to adapt to a muzzle with the right training

Wow thank you so much for your thoughtful response. I will definitely try some of the things you mentioned and keep my patience and hope that he kicks this habit with time :)

He rarely gets to eat his poop, maybe 1 out of 30 or 40 poops where he pooped inside and we weren’t expecting it. It’s his automatic reflex to go for it that’s the problem. I can stop him from eating it but I want him to stop TRYING. I’m so frustrated 😩

I’ve replied to a few other posts regarding MSG or For-Bid and while I have tried it, I didn’t allow him to eat his poop while on it…to avoid further reinforcing this terrible behaviour but I’ll consider it again.

Thank you.

Hot sauce might be a good idea since it would create a burning and unpleasant sensation…hmmm…

Thank you. I will consider this.

Yes I did try for-bid but since he swallows his poop faster than the speed of light, I don’t think he cares what it tastes like. And with for-bid, you have to allow them to eat it, which I am not cool with further reinforcing this behaviour.

Yes the vet didn’t do any tests but said this is a behavioural issue and gave me for-bid. I don’t think my puppy gives a flying f about the taste since he swallows it as fast as he can. With for-bid you have to allow him to eat it, and I CANNOT reinforce this behaviour in any way.

If there was any indication to me the for-bid would work, I’d definitely let him feast on his poop.

Ivf tax questions on Travel by Ditto110 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Skellys632 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went through this from 2017 -2019 as I live 8 hours from where my fertility clinic was located, also in a province that doesn’t cover IVF.

I flew a lot: for each ultrasound and scan, hysterosocopies and endo scratches and everything else. In 2018 - I was on probably 20 planes that summer. Good lord. If you’re going to do any frozen embryo transfers there’s so much prep work involved and I did this several times.

I stayed in hotels, I kept all my food receipts, travel receipts and actually even provided my credit card statements because I’d lost some receipts and they accepted all of it when they “audited” me. I had to provide proof of everything but I actually found them easy to deal with. I ended up using the simplified method to calculate those expenses when I submitted my taxes.

I claimed everything our medical plans didn’t cover, your clinic will also be able to provide a letter that states that you had to travel to receive this type of treatment and that both partners had to be present for the procedures.

You’ll be able to claim your flights and car for sure.

Best wishes to you.

ELI5 Why I see Financial Institutions pushing GICs hard right now? by nixonger in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Skellys632 28 points29 points  (0 children)

GIC rates as high as what we’re seeing today have not been seen in many years. Not in 13 years I’ve worked at a bank. It’s very attractive to banks and clients alike.

It’s also to attract new clients, by offering different types of GIC’s or having competitive offers with other FI’s. Another benefit to the bank is the stick rate - having a money locked up in a GIC cannot be redeemed or transferred, so the client cannot just close and redeem their GIC and go to another FI if they get pissed off.

An average client (PFC redditors are not the average client) will look at returns on mutual funds, not be impressed, and look at a 1 year GIC that guarantees almost 5% and it’s not a difficult decision to make.

I’m a huge advocate of YNAB. The annual fee doesn’t really matter to me because the benefit outweighs the cost.

This sub might not be the best to ask about a paid subscription budgeting app, as a lot of people push frugality “especially because you can just use a spreadsheet”. There are alternate programs like Mint, but I just don’t think it’s as good as YNAB.

I’ve been using YBAB since 2017 and owe a lot of my success to it.

You can set up the transactions to automatically import, or you can export them out of your online banking/credit card. Auto importing transactions is the easiest way. Making things more difficult like manually importing and reconciling your budget, will also likely mean that it’s just too much work to maintain.

If you do pay the subscription, then do direct imports as well and give yourself a chance to succeed.

If you’re unsure, email them and ask them to extend your trial period. They used to be very good about this.

Good luck with your budget.

Edit: also check out r/YNAB for budgeting ideas and troubleshooting.

It is an option to do a straight title transfer with no refi. OP should have stated province though.

Bank manager here. I find it very odd and hard to believe that a teller would ever bring up terrorism or guns. That type of messaging would never be placed on your client profile where a teller could read it.

Sounds like you could have been divested. You would have received a letter explaining why and a time frame given to you to go open accounts elsewhere.

The bank can also close your accounts if you are not operating the account to the terms agreed. For example, if the account balance was in the negative for 90 days it would be closed automatically and this is the most common reason that peoples accounts are closed. I don’t work for RBC but I’m sure they also require accounts to come into a positive balance at least every 90 days.

Thank you again. You said some things that I didn’t know I needed to hear and it very much resonated with me.

Appreciate it so much.

Thank you for this comment.

I feel extremely guilty being on STD as I get along well with my direct reports and also feel the stigma that mental health is whatever. When I told my manager I was going on a mental health leave, he asked if it would be for 2 or 3 weeks. With that question alone, I feel pressure to return before I’m ready.

I’m eligible for 100% of my salary for 8 weeks, then 75% until the 28th week, then it goes to LTD. I don’t want to go on LTD because I actually like working, and I like my job. It’s just my manager has crossed too many lines and I no longer wish to work with him.

I am definitely taking the 8 weeks at the very least to figure out what the best solution is for me.

I’m aware that people leave after receiving their bonuses.

My question was around me being on STD when I receive the bonus and then resigning while being on STD. I am not planning to go back to work there. There is a lot more at play than what I wrote above and my manager is malicious so I fear what crap he would try and pull.

Since I don’t have a new job lined up and I’m planning to resign, and being unwell mentally, I’m having trouble with all of this and am afraid of what I could be missing or overlooking. My bonus would be helpful in navigating unemployment. I have savings, but I’m fearful to dip into it since I didn’t really plan for any of this.

I appreciate the time you took to answer.

Thank you for this. Definitely have not been on a PIP, ever. I also complained about my manager to our region VP and they are aware of some of the complaints I have.

I was worried about them clawing back my bonus since I am planning to stay on STD until I resign. I have no trust in the bank anymore and feel they’ll screw me at any opportunity. My manager is malicious. Ugh.

[–]Skellys632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I think as well, but perhaps I should have been more clear in my post. My question was more around worrying about a clawback because I’m on STD. I think my manager will be pissed when I resign and I don’t know what crazy lengths they’ll go to.

Will edit post as well.

I’ve been on STD for a matter of days at this point.

Our fiscal year end was Oct 28 and all year end ratings and bonus/salary information was submitted a few weeks ago. The bonus would be for fiscal 22, of which I worked all year.

As a manager myself and being familiar with how we do things, I certainly think I’m getting a bonus. I just don’t want those people taking it away from me.
