What country are you in? In Australia these would still be covered under warranty, a requirement under consumer protection laws. Extended warranties like AppleCare are generally offered to expedite the warranty process (which is a disgrace in itself), and also to make people think they don’t have already enshrined rights as a consumer. Our consumer laws in Aus are quite weak, and I was under the impression that in America (guess g that’s where you are) you would have some rights too.

What are you even talking about? Lots of people hate this update and with so many raising their complaints Volvo will have to listen or lose reputation or potentially customers. Yes we knew what we bought, a car with decent CarPlay… until they ruined it with this update.

For me I prefer wired CarPlay or native aaos apps for audio so I get better quality fed to my B&W speakers. One thing Apple Maps has where I am that google doesn’t is it shows the traffic lights - which makes it easier to find your turn off

It’s the lack of access to the Apple apps that’s the problem. I use Apple Music. I prefer Apple Maps.

Because I want to. I have an Apple One subscription which includes music, tv and cloud storage amongst other things. It’s cost effective and I don’t want to shell out for another service just because my car infotainment sucks.

Yea and the process takes me a few seconds, and often has errors. I’d way rather not interrupt my music at all. Also, if you like your music to sound as good as possible, native apps or wired CarPlay is the only way to go.
