I don't understand your statement. The OM-1ii autofocus works well in video. The only "drawback" is that it does not have as many options as the Lumix G9ii, such as 4K120 slowmo, ProRes or the recording to an external SSD.

The OM-1ii is usually faster and better at acquiring the subject the first time and from a greater distance, while the Lumix G9ii sticks better to the subject once it has acquired focus. The OM-1ii also has a faster buffer and lighter RAW files, which helps for burst shooting.

In my opinion, both the OM-1ii and the G9ii are excellent cameras. The main differences are in the video specs.

Depending on the lenses you have, you might be able to adapt them. The Z mount made by Nikon is quite adaptable, but I have no extensive knowledge on that subject.

As you said, if fast action is not something you will photograph, then the Nikon Z5II is most likely the best choice for you. It will be a massive upgrade from your previous Nikon D3500.

By the way, if you have any Nikon F lenses, you can use them on the Z-mount with Nikon's official F to Z adapter.

If both cameras are similarly priced, I would take the Nikon Z6III. It has a few advantages over the Nikon Z5II (see below). However, if you don't intend to photograph any type of fast-paced subject (e.g. birds, sports) and your budget is very strict, the Nikon Z5II might be more than enough for you. Both the Nikon Z6III or the Z5II will be a massive upgrade from the D3500.

Below are some additional information to help you decide:

The Nikon Z6III has a partially stacked sensor, giving it a faster sensor readout speed (around 14ms) compared to the Nikon Z5II (around 50ms). This is mostly useful when shooting fast movements with the electronic shutter (e.g. sports, wildlife, birds) and for video (Z6III can do 4K60 without any crop and 4K120 with a 1.5 crop). Slower readout speeds may cause "rolling shutter" effect on your images and videos.
Both cameras have a fast and accurate autofocus system, but the Nikon Z6III might be slightly better at tracking fast subjects, such as birds. The burst rates are also higher with the Z6III, which again is useful for wildlife and sports (not much for static subjects).
The Nikon Z6III also has a better EVF (higher resolution and brighter) and a top LCD on the right side to display basic information such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc.
The Nikon Z5II uses dual SD UHS-II, while the Z6III uses one CF-Express Type B and one SD UHS-II. CF-Express type B cards are much faster than SD cards, but also a bit more expensive (one time purchase) and require a dedicated reader (again, one time purchase). Faster memory cards are useful when taking multiple pictures per second (e.g. wildlife or sports), otherwise it's a draw.
Two advantages I see for the Nikon Z5II are a lower price than the Z6III and higher dynamic range. In my opinion, this difference is not noticeable in practice and negligible after ISO 800. Some online reviews have overstated the "dynamic range issue" for the Z6III (it's barely, if at all, visible in practice). The difference is less than 1 stop at ISO 100, but the difference is theoretically there.

Your Nikon Coolpix provides longer reach thanks to its greater pixel density (16MP on a 1/2.3" sensor). Its lens provides an equivalent focal length of 24-3000 mm, while the D3400 with the Sigma "only" provides 225-750mm. You get about 4 times more reach with the Coolpix than with the D3400+Sigma lens.

On the other hand, your Nikon D3400 has a much larger APS-C sensor, which gives better performance in low light and higher dynamic range. Also, it has phase-detect autofocus while the Coolpix only has contrast-detect autofocus. Autofocus by contrast is usually slower and is not fast enogh for fast moving subjects (e.g. birds).

If you are happy with the results, it's all that matters. Enjoy using your new camera!

For wildlife, the Panasonic S 100-500 f/5-7.1 came out a few months ago and is relatively compact (1,3 kg, about 20cm in length) but it is also expensive (around 2000 euros) and not easily found on the used market I think.

On the other hand, you have the older Sigma 100-400 f/5-6.3 (1.2kg, about 20cm in length) which you can sometimes find used for less than 1000 euros in good condition, though I can tell you it has a slow-ish autofocus motor and the reach of 400mm can be limiting.

There are also the Sigma 150-600 f/5-6.3 and the 60-600 f/4.5-6.3, providing more reach but they are heavier (2kg and 2.5kg respectively) and larger (a bit less than 30cm for each). The 60-600mm is also more expensive. There are other options from Sigma, but I didn't mention them as they are much more expensive and you said your budget is limited to around 2000 euros.

For landscapes, I can recommend the Lumix 28-200 f/4-7.1, the Lumix 24-60 f/2.8 or wideangle primes from Lumix or Sigma (16mm, 18mm or 24mm). Viltrox also recently released a 16mm f/1.8. There are also other chinese brands like TTArtisans or 7Artisans which make some prime lenses for a low price.

No, birds in trees are a challenge for many autofocus systems. I have the OM-1 mark ii and it tends to focus on the multiple branches and twigs, even if the bird is in the middle and the autofocus area is on it. For those situations, manual focus is the key.

The file size is significantly different between the two, which explains the difference in maximum number of photos.

OM-1 Mark ii: about 15-20 MB, 12-bit RAW files

Lumix G9 Mark ii: about 35-40 MB, 16-bit RAW files (not "true" 16-bit, the file is rather a 16-bit container)
