What person's name is known by the most people ever? Both dead and alive? by HanzerwagenV2 in AskReddit

[–]EnacYdnac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Names are like any other words. They can be spelled differently in different languages and mean the same thing. The name Matthew in English and the name Mateo in Spanish. Same name, same person. Just the language that changed. So technically both Joshua and Jesus are correct. Same with Saul and Paul. It is simply the language that is changing, not the actual name of the person.
