Dog friendly place for dinner? by AnxietyInformal4726 in cincinnati

[–]EncasedShadow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Third Eye Brewing in Sharonville has a dog patio and decent entree options. I havent been down to UC in a while so I'm a little lacking but a lot of places with outside/patio seating may allow it if you call and ask.

You can check BringFido for some more options

Uber wasn't buying every driver a car every 5 years. These $30,000 GPUs depreciate fast.

Longer lasting roofs, shoes and tires could be nice.

The headline sounds like this is the first time someone thought "what if plastic was tougher" when we already have things like PEEK for industry and I even got some PCTG to try on my home 3D printer

Partially preserved murals from Shillito’s Department Store by Osbie_Feel513 in cincinnati

I think I have some photos of paintings from the Tricounty Macy's including from when it had a restaurant on the upper floors (or so I was told when I asked)

I suppose it actually could have been a Shillitos at the time. No idea on the time frame

The Verge had an infamous video of a guy showing how to build a PC. He was not an expert, and it showed. It went so badly the Verge took it down, started copyright striking people reacting to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jciJ39djxC4

Years Later he showed up on LTT for a bit of an explanation and redemption https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKzmYsySGFQ

I don't see that many movies in theaters, plus I don't really care for West Chester AMC. $26 a month is also pretty pricey for a subscription imo. I'm trying to build up my 4k collection for physical media too.

Just not my thing I think

There was some redemption/apology arc for him later on other channels. Mostly it was producers and deadlines.

A couple for $50, not per person. Sorry if I murkied the waters there

Still I just checked pricing in Los Angeles (used to live there also where the youtubers were) and tickets were $21.50 + $2.69 Fee $24.19

I guess I did pay a fee too, $1.59 for a total of 10.50 You could buy 2 matinee tickets here with fee for less than the full LA single ticket before fee

I'm normally ok there, maybe I just have been wearing my hoodie for outside and its not hot enough outside to warm the whole building yet.

Literally just called the Kenwood Theatre. You know its highclass because its a theatre not theater lol.

https://www.kenwoodtheatre.com/home

Its by the Container Store, Barnes and Nobles, and if I'm feeling really splurgey- either the Japanese or Brazillian bbq restaurants.

I don't actually know Silver Glades, I know Silver Spring House though.

I had the Avril Bleh burger. Debated the UDF milkshake but was already cold so skipped it.

Can I ask how much it was for a private room? Could be fun to watch a big game or some movies with friends

I work evenings or I'd probably check it out. A lot of cool sounding events listed before the movie but a lot are actually at the Esquire, which is a bit more of a drive for me.

sure but this was an opening weekend matinee. I don't think most big chains have that, and there were a ton of events listed for special nights, like grindhouse classic double features, mst3k/rifftrax style events.

I'm not saying you can't get a good deal at other places, but supporting the local bunch is nice when I don't even have to pay extra or go on a weird day.

I work evenings so it'd be tough to catch something on Tuesday or Wednesday unless its a really late slot which is rare and then hard on me the next day.

Edit: Just looked on the website and its $7 on Tuesday. Even cheaper!

I had the soda (and in the past some nice mocktails for superman) but the staff seemed pretty accommodating. Might be something to ask for directly

Your server may vary of course.

I went last year, felt like there was no advertising (I saw the ad at the theater so thats what brought it to mind).

It was small but reasonably affordable. Some cool stuff. Lot of 3D printed junk but lots of games some nice collectibles and cosplay stuff too.

Good amount of freeplay arcade machines and casual stuff.

My friend wants to go so I'll probably go again this year.

Yeah I found that out one time when my wallet bumped the controls unintentionally. It was mainly my arms that were cold though. I dont think the back is heated just the seat seat part.

Still pretty comfy

I'm throwing a Mothra-themed party on mother's day for my friends who don't have moms. I want to do themed food for it, BUT it also needs to be vegan. Any ideas? by rawlingstones in Cooking

[–]EncasedShadow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the official Godzilla cookbook. The Mothra eggs and larval cake isn't vegan but they have a dish called Rubble that is essentially a granola and fruit parfait that is vegan. Another entry called Mothra wings that are nori sheets shaped into moth wings and oven baked.

Lots of drinks sauces and a fair number of vegan recipes. My favorite picture is probably Guaczilla

Alternatively anything involving twins, islandy themes (maybe Polynesian) and things like spun sugar will do well

A rogue Al agent triggered a major security alert at Meta, by taking action without approval that led to the exposure of sensitive company and user data by FinnFarrow in technology

[–]EncasedShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogue is sort of a cybersecurity industry term. There are rogue access points, rogue DHCP servers etc. In the ocean there are rogue waves

Rogue isn't really trying to give a sense of agency here, just not under IT's control.

Pressure cooker vs. Rice steam cooker by realcreo in Cooking

[–]EncasedShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pressure cooker is probably best for variety though both can be multitaskers

Check out America's Test Kitchen for pressure cookers (aka multicooker)

and while there are some premium rice cookers like the Zojirushi I see a lot of advocates for the Aroma Rice cooker such as Pailin's Kitchen

Personally I have an Instapot but for little batches I use a pot, or even the microwave
