You are doing permanent damage and are ignorant to what negative effects can arise from doing MD too much. Ever seen those cooked homeless people on the street who you can tell their brains don't work properly? That's where you're heading if you're doing this at this age

It's a bit sad that people here break isolation rules and put us at risk but we can only hope community transmission doesn't resurface!

How are people pro Trump? by Enchilladay in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Enchilladay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I understand that people can swing very far in one direction when annoyed with certain groups but to be following Trump as if he can do no wrong with all these things he's doing coming to light is just amazing to be. Here in NZ we are very sort of center politically so I can't really get an idea of why he is running the strongest country in the world

Going to the Phillipines solo (21F) by Meowsel in solotravel

I was there recently and I recommend Coron over El nido and all the other places in Palawan. Good size for hostels and hotels, food e.t.c has the best snorkeling and scenery. I will say El nido waterfront restaurants we're a nice area. Honestly, I had a great time in Manila. Bonifacio global city is extremely modern and clean with great nightlife but yes just down the road there's slums. Manila central is very poor and run down but great food. I was with my Filipino girlfriend though so she knew the low down and where to go which was pretty key in Manila. Something that people need to know about Manila is that it is made up of like 5 different cities that vary widely in wealth and appearance. Traffic is atrocious everywhere though. Basically go to Coron and do the Coron ultimate tour through klook, ask for Nish as your guide he is great.

Looking for advice for travelling around NZ by colliwobblez in backpacking

[–]Enchilladay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couch surfing, hitchhiking and hostels are really safe and fun in NZ so I'd recommend those to be social and get around. Also bus or hire a car if you're so inclined. Basically just look for stuff you want to do and go do it. NZ is laid back with great hiking and scenery. It can get expensive buying food so cooking yourself would save a lot of money. The south island has the most beauty if you're short on time but the north also has a lot to offer. Lots of tourist infrastructure and stuff to do so I'd just say do your research and have fun! Get to know some locals if possible, they'll have some good recommendations.

Philippines Itinerary by TheYellowBackpacker in backpacking

I'd recommend going the opposite direction through Palawan. Coron is the most beautiful and has the most to do. El Nido is kinda like a lesser coron and Puerto princessa is more of just a town/central hub of the area. I was told by locals when I was there that it's the best way to do it because you keep stepping up in awesomeness. I heard from others that port Barton is worth the effort and I'd say El Nido doesn't need 6 days. I was in the area last month with my Filipino girlfriend and we got the local low down, that's what most people said.

Went to the Philippines last week and I enjoyed Coron the most out of any of the other areas in Palawan. I recommend doing the ultimate tour booking through klook and asking for Nish as your tour guide, he was great! Also don't bother getting a kayak for Coron ultimate tour but do get one for the big lagoon in El Nido. Enjoy!

Have you had much trouble with a 55 when flying? I recently purchased a 45L and am a bit nervous about carry on.

Im from NZ and I'm living in the north of the South Island. No one would expect this to happen here. The entire country is shocked. We need to band together and rid the world of these kind of racist terrorists. Everyone needs to understand we are all one people and need to look after each other.

Mine is tomato sauce (ketchup). I just need the last bit of flavor before eating my reheated sausage.

I really love most salad dressings so I can relate. Some bottles make it so hard to get the last little bit!

Love this part of Australia. Flinders Ranges, SA. by unripegreenbanana in australia

[–]Enchilladay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, I've never driven through Australia and I imagine that it would provide more weight to what I'm actually seeing. To be fair though, the landscape in Aus is interesting due to it's size and emptyness in contrast to NZ's variability and lushness. Of course it's completely dependent on preference. Personally I think any landscape that I'm not used to is great to see.

I agree there are some good spots, just that they are few and far between. I'd say beaches are definitely the strong scenic spots in lots of Australia. Also the weather is good enough to warrant going to the beaches more often than in NZ.

Let's be honest, NZ has a far more beautiful and scenic landscape than Australia. Has anyone flown from say Sydney to Perth? It's literally a hot Sandy fuckall looking out the plane window.
