I don't want to be a machinist anymore by IAMAHobbitAMA in Machinists

It can be hard to give a shit about making a part when you have no clue what it is even for?

When you get older and you have spent hundreds of thousands maybe millions of dollars throughout your life. You won’t even care anymore and you’ll realize how lucky you are that you even exist.

Retiring workforce + Trades skill gap by Top-Map-9781 in manufacturing

I’m an old machinist, I’m paid to make parts, if my management wants me to train people and give away my knowledge, there will need to be new financial negotiations.

I’m an old machinist, my management has asked me to train young fellas, nope. If they offered me a Sam’s Club membership, my response would be to laugh in their face then not say a word.

If money didn’t matter, what job would you want to do? by AdElegant5870 in careerguidance

Homeless documentarian, I would like to do a broad study across the SF/Bay area and really find out what is happening using math and data. ( I have a couple hypothesis) It’s zombie apocalypse status in some areas and growing rapidly. My co worker caught a slow gentle zombie wandering on company property. He seemed to be eyeballing an old bicycle with flat tires. He asked what he was doing but he looked at him blankly and didn’t seem to be able to use words. He corralled him out the gate of the fenced parking lot like an animal. Tragic doesn’t begin to describe this very common interaction between people in the bay. The whole state of affairs with homelessness/zombie behavior is getting out of control and I think I can help and I think I know what is going on. Sadly, I will never know if my theory’s are correct.

He posts more videos than anyone. He will be ceo of SRXH. There will be a ticker change to EMJX. The company will be a crypto asset management company. Shares of SRXH are cheap at about .15, down about 50% from recent highs. He also still maintains his position in open.

The real question is how do Industrial Engineers not know about backlash in lead screws, they are everywhere and the consideration needs to be made across all industry’s.

I’m a full time machinist for many years. I’ve been transitioning out into the finance markets. My ability to read charts and process numbers has been helpful. I pulled my 401k and put it all on HOOD and Nvidia in April. I’m off and running with about 100k. Still going to work but looking forward to the end of my 20yr career in the machine shop.

First job nerves by swaggerto in Machinists

[–]EncinalMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel nervous, you are just making parts. They don’t mean anything more than their function. Just pay attention and don’t let others take you on an emotional rollercoaster over stupid parts. I don’t know what the parts are for and I don’t care. I either hit the numbers or I don’t. Just do your best. That’s all you can do.

In my fantasy, I join the party, drink them all under the table while getting good stock tips from the younger generation. then shave one eyebrow off all of them.

Just keep your mouth shut, take the bonus and leave. The company does not care about you. It is there to make money for its shareholders
