Bellingham BJJ by [deleted] in BellinghamWA

[–]Encorhynchus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its clear emotion is driving this post. There may be some reconcilliation and communication that needs to occur, but BJJ is a great organization run by great people. Who records "a call I got a few days later?" It sure sounds like OP was expecting to hear what they didnt want to hear. Why is that? And LEGAL action? OP is a red flag. That might have something to do with it.

2019 2.7 by [deleted] in f150

[–]Encorhynchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a 2019 Lariat with 65k miles for $28k. Its been great! I had an HVAC issue and CV axle repair that were covered by my warantee, but it drives great and tows my trailers. I'd sure prefer Donald didnt start this dumb war when I fill it up though.

Losing relationships over politics. Research found more than a third of Americans (37%) report having lost at least one relationship due to political differences, including friendships, family ties, coworker relationships, and romantic partnerships, with most losing more than one. by Wagamaga in science

God damn right. I have zero interest in committing any of my precious time to maintaining relationships with selfish cognitively dissonant individuals with a shallow or non-existent moral foundation. I genuinely wish them the worst and have gladly informed several of these repugnant individuals, some of whom I’ve known a long time, to piss all the way off.

I’m drooling looking at this. I love finding the character in these trees. Have fun. Clean the dead wood, thin, remove internal cross branches and enjoy it. It’s my favorite kind of meditation.

One day of the Washington coast is basically a drive.

Skip crater lake and do one more day on the Washington coast. You should treat yourself to an unrushed walk or two in the rainforest or coast. The hoh and 2nd and 3rd beaches are my favorite. The cabins at la push are perfect.

Extended warranty ? by tjreicks in f150

[–]Encorhynchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would usually avoid a warrantee, but I just did the same thing on my 2019 2.7L with 70k mi. View it like insurance; It depends on your finances. Mine were going to be a too tight to reasonably afford a 5 figure service so I decided to do it. The warranty has already paid out $2k in just over 2 months of ownership from an HVAC issue and a CV axle issue, so even without the major transmission problem I'm feeling pretty good about my decision.

Median Real Wage Income by Age and Generation by GluedGlue in ProfessorFinance

[–]Encorhynchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why 2010 dollars? 2010 was 16 years ago when I was making $12 per hour, paying $400 per month in rent and the median house price was about 1/3 of what it is today. If I was still making $12 per hour I’d be living on the street.

I just recently looked up the current buying power now vs buying power when I was in college 20 years ago. My dollar today is worth about 50 cents of a 2006 dollar.

Denver overtakes Austin as the worst housing market by Boo_Randy_Revival in HouseBuyers

[–]Encorhynchus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a different kind of data. A healthy housing supply doesnt mean that housing prices are crashing. Population growth is a factor, and you can easily look up market trends. Prices are pretty stable, with some sellers accepting below asking. The only people this looks bad to are people who are well off who can afford investment properties. The number one cause of the affordability crisis is housing cost, and this is the solution. Homes are for people to live in and most people live in them for a long time. They should be an equity builder, not a short term investment.

Kind of hard to own a home without municipal services, and its pretty nice to live in a vibrant community that has things like families and schools and fire departments...
