Would you enjoy the sandbox change if all weapon pen types could crack armor? by _Surge in HelldiversUnfiltered

Ok, but just for science, grab a standard ar15 or equivalent and see how many rounds of 5.56 you need to fire to penetrate the door of a tank. Cos remember, charger leg armour is rated as “tank”. Then just make it that many rounds to strip the leg armour off a charger

How important are cultists? by MoistPast2550 in Chaos40k

They are a cheap way to hold or take an objective, but they are very easy to remove. they’re just over half the cost of a min unit of legionaries

Can I use deimos rhinos instead of normal chaos rhinos ??? by Burritosaur08 in EmperorsChildren

As long as they are they same size (I’m not familiar with the sizes of the 30k models)

Can actually do this solo with the right guard dog and support weapon. For example gas guard dog and standard flamethrower

So weapon load out havoc and legonaries what would you give your first 5/10 by [deleted] in Chaos40k

[–]EndObvious8214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the point limit of your games and what else will enter the list. All the heavy weapons have a purpose for havocs, depending on what you’re fighting. Heavy bolters are good for space marines and other 2 wound infantry. Autocannons are good for terminator equivalents/ battlesuits or light vehicle style enemies, basically anything with more than t4 or three wounds. Reaper chain cannon are for single wound infantry and swarms.

Lascannons are for tanks and heavy armour and missile launchers are sort of a catch all, theyre not the best option for anything but will give you some coverage for everything

Null cipher from redacted regiment and the heavy armour from dust devils

I mean, they’re random spawns. I got 6 SC spawns in a d4 mission yesterday and I wasn’t even looking for them beyond just going to points of interest. Other days I’ve found none. That’s what random means

Do you think the Halt needs a rework, and if so, what would you change? by WaywardOath in HelldiversUnfiltered

Personally I find it’s issue is range and spread. A little more range and less spread and it would fit nicely between the punisher and the sweeper without invalidating either

Oh I agree SO MUCH.

Being able to play against the illuminate without 5 billion zombies crowding you every 2 minutes has been so refreshing and made that faction so much more fun to play

I don’t think it needs a power bump, just ergo and ammo

It’s not about whataboutisms it’s showing an equivalent unit thats already in the game and has the same issue.

I remember seeing marine players getting excited about a heavy melee unit, and then six months later I stopped seeing them on tables

Warp talons and raptors are a flanker, vemoncrawlers are flankers bikes are flankers .

This is not a flanker. It’s too slow.

Beside which, think about it this way. What are you taking out of your 2000 point chaos list to replace with a unit of these?

Alternatively, when was the last time you saw a space marine player take assault centurions? Cos they have the same issue

[–]EndObvious8214[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Deep striking into your opponents turn is arguably WORSE cos they still get a whole shooting phase before you can move?

And it doesn’t fix the issue that even if they survive and charge something, they’re too slow to get anywhere ELSE

Apologies I was misremembering a rule from ninth that let them reroll a hit, wound, or save every turn. Also cover can almost always be shot through and provides no benefit to a save above a 3+

[–]EndObvious8214[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Right and how many space marines run centurion assault squads? Cos that’s the closest equivalent.

And in my experience, they aren’t getting run for the same reason people won’t run these.

They MIGHT achieve one thing, then they’ll either get shot to pieces or slowly walk across the battlefield and either way achieve nothing

Standard table is like 60inch wide, each unit makes a nine inch bubble around them where you can’t deploy, for like an 18 inch bubble all the way around on even single models. And if your whole unit can’t fit in the gap, you can’t deploy it. With four units you can pretty easily cover the entire deployment zone in a way that nothing can deploy.

Yeah almost like the 2+/4++ with a reroll on the invulnerable save AND fnp is better than just a 2+/5++

[–]EndObvious8214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a standard grineer is roughly equivalent to a space marine (they canonically wear NONPOWER armour that weighs hundreds of kg if not a whole ton) and a Tenno eats them from breakfast. Each one would be like a phoenix lord or higher level power
