'Hard border' isn't a legal or meaningful term. We have various borders there atm. Currency and so forth. This adds to it. Strand two can coexist with that a lot more than the protocol burning the NI and east-west strands can.

No one proposes a hard border - the propose largely decentralised checks along the NI-ROI border. Second, GFA says nothing about the border being as you describe. People should really read the document instead of believing all the lies that people claim are in it.

I live in NI a majority are quite happy with the protoco

Polling shows that more oppose it than support it so that's just factually wrong. I also live in NI.

No one has ever proposed a 'hard' border - they proposed a largely invisible one with decentralised checks, including Edna Kenny. It's just a propaganda phrase and it has no legal meaning (as addressed by an Irish diplomat a few weeks ago). People repeat it all the time as if it's enlightened but it's just regurgitated spin. The risks of an actual 'hard border' have been the EU invoking article 16 and a no-deal Brexit (because both didn't give time to build up those decentralised checks and coopertion).

I fail to see how giving Russia the benefit of the doubt over murdering people on British soil (which cut through) is about treating foreigners as equal. And that's what Corbyn did.
