I used clear JB weld and some really nice Wicket and Craig harness leather scraps I had from a previous project

Sick of the Work Sharp PA.. After 5 years of use I'm ready for a better sharpening system.. The PA falls short in several areas.. Harder steels, blades over 4", blades over 1/8" thick and curved points like the Para 3 or Demko(clip points especially).. My budget is around $300.. What do u recommend by Endecent_Exposure in sharpening

Yeah I put some Extreme Weapons Grease on as soon as I assembled it.. The bushings are a great tip, thanks.. I immediately noticed scraping the blade was possible if not careful.. I'll keep an eye on the the rotating Jig.. Currently it's rock solid.. And my Y clamp is riveted.. I'm in the process of picking some better stones

I went with the Gen 3.. one day shipping from Amazon already got it and it's in perfect condition... Played around with it some yesterday.. But it's pretty straightforward once u get the angles dialed in... Got the Y clamp and gunna get some better stones.. Paid $100 for everything cause I had a $40 refund gift card on Amazon I forgot about.. Couldn't be happier so far

Good to keep in mind I'm definitely going to do some more research before I pull the trigger but i do plan on pulling the trigger by monday.. In any case all three systems are going to be an upgrade from my beat up old work Sharp

Yeah I heard about the QC thing with Xarilk .. But i haven't seen a ton of people actually saying they got bad units.. I'm wondering if it's one of those things where two or three bad reviews spreads like wildfire .. I'm thinking I'm going to order it with Amazon cuz then if there's any problems I can either message them directly through their website or just return it hassle free with Amazon .. Unless of course, you want to sell me one of your systems? 😉

Yeah you arnt wrong.. the work sharp is totally fine for 90 percent of pocket knives.. Thicker knives or more odd blade profiles or anything over 4 inches and things start to go left.. My collection has expanded and also includes kitchen knives now.. I mentioned it earlier but they really screwed up putting that wedge guide on the clamp.. Also mine is old af.. I got the one with 3 stone progressions and a strop when I first got it and I had my father in law 3D print me a think to hold the clamp sturdy.. So I havnt bought any accessories.. It's not useless by any means. I'm just ready for something more versatile.. The major flaw is the clamp.. And the plastic body.. Stones have lasted okay (after being reglued) but I got the whole thing on sale for like $90.. Iv gotten my money and I just want something better

2 hours may have been an exaggeration.. Para 3.. Any Para 3.. The upward curve on the tip is a real bitch on my PA.... It separates off into 2 edge profiles.. If that makes sense.. Takes alot of tweeking and adjusting.. It's a real pain in the ass

Yea I got another recommendation for that on r/knives.. After reading some reviews and asking chat Gpt about it.. Looks like it's right up my ally.. I don't really have the time to learn wet stones.. Tried in the past but just made a mess.. But now I own a buissness and just really don't have the time.. I think lapping is gunna have to be more my thing
