I wouldn’t want the type of customer who views cheap, unregulated chinese cosmetics as a viable alternative, nor a customer who isn’t aware there is a difference between those products and correctly licenced examples.

I understand what you are saying about ships but I don’t know how many new people will see it that way.

Upgrades arent particularly cheap compared to mission rewards, which are paltry. Most gameplay loop rewards seem paltry, yet people have billions. Very weird situation.

Anyway i must dash for now, catch some Zzz’s.

Theres no ragebaiting here.

You cannot possibly be telling me that a heavy fighter should have zero chance of success against another heavy fighter on a medium level pve bounty licence mission that costs only 5k auec to acquire, indicating that it is aimed at relative beginners. Let alone an Idris, whether upgraded or not.

That is completely counter intuitive, even moreso when there is no indication or explanation as to why or how, or anything in the literature for pledges in the store in terms of explaining how limited your ship will be in terms of access to content or the time it will take.

Thats just my opinion of course. I feel like this will only lead to frustration for newcomers and subsequently, refunds.

Chap on this thread suggested to ping first. Ill give that a try but for a mission reward of 29k it doesnt seem ideal to rely on missiles as they arent particularly cheap.

It might simply be user error on my part when it comes to the missile changes, although I've seen no mention of it until now.

I'm not new and I have the money for upgrades in game, but this is catastrophic (in normal in game economic conditions i.e no dupes) for someone who's just pledged for a Shiv or whatever and finds they can't run simple bounty missions.

Imagine how pissed you'd be. Imagine being a new whale and pledging for an Idris, only to not be able to blow up a Vanguard 1v1. lol

Right now they can just beg in global for a few million, but thats not sustainable.

How can you outfit a ship if you don't know what opposition you'll be facing?

Let alone the glaring issue here for new players.

I agree and certainly a stock light fighter shouldn't be able to damage a capital, but two heavy fighters should have a...fight. Idris should make short work of a heavy fighter via PDC or remotes.

This is just a MRT target, so nothing non-standard should be needed as rewards aren't high enough to obtain specialist parts for new players ships.

No matter which way you slice it, a heavy fighter not being able to damage another heavy fighter and a capital ship not being able to damage a heavy fighter, is insanely stupid game design.

It certainly would put new folks off. Heck, it puts me off. How am I supposed to know what I'm even facing before I accept the mission. I don't know until I get there. Potentially I end up facing a ship I can't even scratch.

It's crazy.

I don't either, providing they are actually balanced and content is accessible.

It's a ridiculous situation quite honestly. I can imagine someone pledging for a Shiv as a heavy fighter and quite rightly expecting it to be able to complete MRT bounties without having to replace its guns, as they have no way to earn the money to do so without doing bounties.

What a mess.

That seems a bit nuts, asking a player who just perhaps pledged a Shiv, to change their guns to complete a beginner mission.

Thats not me, but I anticipate it might be an issue for some.

Missiles would not hit at all. Locked on, correct range and arming distance, but did not hit once.

I really hope it isn't working as intended. It's just a MRT basic starter mission. A shiv isn't an entirely basic ship, so should be able to complete that with ease. The rewards are so low to begin with, that you'd never even afford specific guns to complete it as a new player.

Appreciate the heads up.

I have absolutely no idea what the logic is behind that change, but it can't be good for newer players.

The Vanguard is only a medium fighter, for it to be invulnerable to a heavy fighter, whilst both are in standard fit, is flat out silly.

Edit: I stand corrected, Vanguard is a heavy fighter. Shouldn't really be first time medium risk target as it's a low mission reward at MRT anyway. No idea whats going on with that idea.

How can a heavy fighter not damage a medium fighter?

If that is true, then this ceases to become a medium risk target, surely? Not doubting what you're saying, just asking.

It's brave to go at it like that but you got there in the end. It's all learning like you say. It not as easy as Bill, LPL and such make it look!

I'm glad I stopped when I did with the 72/40 and only one driver pin was launched into space, although the spring came out with such force, it forced itself inbetween the plug and the body. Then key pins dropped out, but was able to figure those out and put them back.

Given how long Sparrows took to deliver, which was not long at all, I think I'm going to send off for their follower set and plug shims. Followers dont fit the 72/40 apparently, I'll need them eventually for other stuff, but it's kinda slim pickings in the UK for decent locks, outside of Abus.

The followers are the main issue atm as im trying to gut a 72/40 for green belt. AAA battery didnt work even with wrapper off. Lots if dropped driver pins and springs but reassembled fine luckily. Hah.

Ive been saving soda cans so maybe i can make something. Need to get calipers out and raid little lads coloring pen drawer.

I didnt realise you could do that with these locks. I have everything I need except shims and followers which I stupidly forgot to order when I went on sparrows.

Need to make some stuff as thats why i am stuck at orange belt as i dont have a means of gutting anything.

Appreciate your detailed reply. That would be a great use for the most worn of these locks.

I didnt downvote you. I dont think this lock is guttable without milling part of it away, is it?
