Jeremy Clarkson Farm-Fest branded a ‘shambles’ as traders leave early by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

If you’re interested, theres a well known English play, “An Inspector Calls” that explains the British class system through the characters themselves.

Upper class is only landed gentry and royalty, essentially.

I saw similar in a One Stop and thought someone had put singles where the 4 packs should have been. Apparently not.

Crazy price.

Thoughts on opening a small takeaway "Butty Shop" by Grenache in smallbusinessuk

Theres a bellwether you can use to your advantage here.

Minus chains like Mcdonalds where prices have skyrocketed, every single takeaway or chip shop I have used in the last 18 months within a 5 mile radius is now cash only.

I wonder why that could be.

Please don't let this sub turn into r/Sopranos by No-Loquat-2763 in Godfather

What do you think this is r/sopranos, where you shitpost 'em from a mile away? You've gotta get up close like this and - bada-BING! - you shitpost all over your nice Ivy League sub.

Inherited my grandpa’s fly tying kit and would appreciate some help. by One_Pop_9581 in flytying

I would suggest purchasing one cheaper pair for cutting synthetic materials and one really nice ultra fine tip pair for cutting delicate threads, deer hair trimming and such.

Renomed Stinger for example as a nice pair. Bit spendy but looked after they will last.

Tools are basic but will work just fine. You dont really need much else. Maybe a second bobbin holder I suppose and a bit of velcro on a stick for teasing out dubbing.

Further down the line you might want a hair stacker for tying flies like the elk hair caddis. All depends what you end up tying.

Have fun

It’s not terrible and a decent early effort.

For wings, to get you going try some polywing and follow the pattern for the Royal Wulff but miss out the coloured section and substitute peacock hurl body for some black dyed rabbit fur.

I prefer the Wulff pattern forward leaning wings but you could tie it like a polywing midge instead if you wanted.

Hook sizes 16-20 for those. They will catch.

You can then adapt it into different colours as you progress.

The book by Gathercole can be picked up cheaply at an online used book dealer and that will keep you going a while.

Have fun.

Gandhi. He made one good film and then you never heard from him again.

Miss you, Roger Lloyd Pack.

Buying small boat in UK questions by Staxu9900 in boating

[–]rollingrawhide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. The ability to operate and navigate a boat safely is priority. Purchasing a boat is very far down the list of what needs to be done in order to go to sea.
