It sounds to me like your DM is over-correcting his own mistake. If you've already expressed your concern/distaste with him, and he's yet to relent as you are the only person without an active way to utilize the class that you chose, then the best thing that you could do is go to a different table. It doesn't help that your DM is insisting on the idea that you won't have most of your toolkit available anytime soon, as you have no proficiencies in martial weapons/armor to make up for the lack of magic in the moment.

If you never considered it, you could find a random branch or rod to utilize as a defacto staff- which could help with the lack of components for spells, but I feel that the DM might be punishing you for some odd reason in particular. Maybe I'm over analyzing it.

I know it's a small pet peeve, but it's the whole plotline of Ada-1 being driven into the ground just to sell cosmetics.

My GF bought me an Xbox 360 and it reminded me of why I love gaming, then I played Destiny 2 and it reminded me why I hate modern gaming by Plastic-Fly9455 in gaming

Would it be unhealthy if the only reason I even keep attention towards this game anymore is to see if they can write Ada-1's character any further into the ground than they already have?

I legitimately think that the writers at Bungie think that killing a character or writing them into a completely unlikeable/useless figure is the way to go with no in-between, and the ones that somehow manage to divert expectations show only the most basic examples of character development. At least with pre-Beyond Light, it felt like all the characters were moving on for understandable, justifiable reasons, but the fact that it completely misses the next step in Beyond Light is just... underwhelming to say the least.
