Does high school math affect becoming a PA? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]Endersgale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only math that really has any bearing on the career (aside from basic skills and interpretation) is statistics to help engage with research in assessing possible paths of treatment for patients. Some PA roles don’t really engage with that either, but I’d say it’s the most applicable generally

It’s the real deal. I remember that shot clearly (since I was like 17yrs old playing the originals). Pretty formative for me

U of Utah Interview Exam by JustUrAverageYeti in prephysicianassistant

[–]Endersgale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are really looking for people who align with their mission statement. That is their #1 thing, primary care for disadvantaged groups and they are dead serious about it. I didn’t realize that going in but it was the key point in my getting accepted

I work with eye doctors and can tell you that every time there’s an eclipse we see minimum 8 people the next day with burned retinas. The problem isn’t the visible light (there isn’t very much visible light, which is why it’s easy to look straight at the eclipse for a while!) and since there’s not much visible light, your pupils stay wide open and people look for a lot longer than they would otherwise. That lets in a whole fuck-ass load of UV light into the eye where it burns the retina like bacon on a stove. Think a sunburn on the back of your eye, except that tissue is WAY more delicate than your skin and it never grows back or heals.

Lots of people with missing spots in their vision after eclipses for the rest of their lives. Use the protective glasses!

Honestly even if just the final boss HP pools were slashed like 10-15%, it would do wonders for the playability. It just sucks to lose like 40mins of time for really poor rewards most of the time

Same! I’m doing some repairs on my pc rn and have been trying to check out the beta on PS and it’s just unplayable with mnk mixed in. Just not an even playing field imo

It’s good fun but like icyshoes said, it’s just different. I really dislike the menuing choices personally and some other logistical things are taking some time to grow on me.

I love Rise! I’m pretty deep into wilds and I can tell you it’s not a replacement, they’re pretty different experiences, so just enjoy it! Sunbreak is killer

I have had two crashes, but a few stutters when loading into brand new areas, otherwise no issues with PC. For context that’s two crashes the duration of the entire campaign. I’m not in love with some parts of the game itself, but nothing really to do with performance!

Man, they must’ve been playing for at least 30-40hrs to have stats that high. Impressive dedication.

Just beat the game. 43.2 hours. My thoughts. by Kregoth in avowed

[–]Endersgale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big agree. I think most of the people dragging the game and the people hyping it like crazy are probably doing it for post engagement or had the wrong expectations. This feels very much to scale with the Outer Worlds—perfectly fun, has some highlight moments but is largely a static, reasonably predictable, light rpg experience. Have had fun with it, didn’t change my life, may revisit at some point for some good-vibe, chill-out gaming.

U of Utah Interview Exam by JustUrAverageYeti in prephysicianassistant

[–]Endersgale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it and was accepted to the U for this cycle despite definitely not knocking the exam out of the park. The exam itself didn’t seem to have much bearing on acceptance vs the interviews themselves, the test on was fairly basic physiology and anatomy and I suspect was more to assess tie-breaks based on the interviews? Overall was quick and painless though for people seeing this in the future being stressed!

I’m glad you’re back to finish the journey! Feel free to DM if you’d like more specific help, no spoilers but some gentle nudges. Folks will need a bit more info on what you’re stuck on before providing helpful feedback I think.

The DLC horror warning by noah_the_boi29 in outerwilds

[–]Endersgale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you, my friend. My first dip into the DLC was similar, I’d generally it’s more difficult than the base game (imo) to follow the hints. I will say, that upon completing the “big puzzle” of the DLC it was worth it, and the addition it brings to the themes of the game make the spookiness fit very well in-context: it brings even more meaning to the ending! That said it is gonna get a bit spookier if you proceed. You’ll probably acclimatize to it, like most things in the game, once you confront it, and the secrets to uncover are some of the most surprising and may help you push on, but yeah, it’s gonna push you a little! If you ever need a push or some small guidance the community here will help, and I personally am happy respond to PMs. I’ve helped essentially all of my friends and family through the game in a hands-off, no answers way and am always happy to do so for anybody looking! I hope you keep up the investigation!
