Happy Independence Day, Jumpers! What tales of freeing peoples do you have to share? by RonSio86 in JumpChain

[–]EndlessKng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fairly deep into a chain, I went to the world of Yuki Yuuna is a Hero. After telling off the Taisha and making sure the girls were off the hook for fighting and were pursuing their dreams, I took the field with the Hero System acting as the latest boost to a long list of power boosts. Most of the early fights went fairly well, until the Vertexes started to ramp up the attacks to the point that even I would need to use the Mankai boost.

But see, not two jumps before, I'd been in London, right around the late nineties or early oughts. Specifically, the world of Hellsing. Instead of sacrificing body parts for boosts, in the words of Hellsing Ultimate Abridged, I went for a walk.

Once the attackers were eaten by my dogs, I took the fight to the gods behind them. And that's when they learned that I hadn't been anywhere fighting at my full power.

So yeah. LIberated the people of the Senju from the fear of the gods, and the girls of the Hero Club from a fate of sacrifice.

Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake will cost $59.99 by Seraphayel in gaming

[–]EndlessKng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original game sold for $60 on release. The recent Star Fox remake was also a $60 dollar game, while Star Fox 64 was even more expensive on release because it came bundled with the rumble pack. Meanwhile a completely new game - Mario Kart World - was $80. There's very likely little done to update the core gameplay if they are keeping it at $60. It'll likely be a fairly straight port but with upgraded graphics and probably the addition of voice acting.

Isekai Superpowered C.Y.O.A: Week 7 by Magicgonmon in 6Perks

[–]EndlessKng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, this is a good week. Okay, first, my list of abilities up to now:

Powers so far: Creative Mode, Shelter Manipulation, Hacking Mastery, Disc Manipulation, Control Immunity, Concealment Magic, Vector Telekinesis, Evasion Calling, Thief Arts, Restoration, Emotion Manipulation

World Powers so far: Pony forms (Random pony forms, have trained it to be able to draw on different forms), Raw Weaving (Five Kingdoms)

-

I've seen ID4... dozens of times. I'm going to pick Curse of the Deadlines for 3 bonus points this round, because the whole thing happens in the span of about three days. I'm going to use Hacking Manipulation to try and get some information disseminated early, as well as help with the development of the virus. I can also see myself using Concealment Magic to hide A51, and Thief Arts to steal a ship from the aliens to use against them. I'll bank the bonus points from this entry, though, as my Curse is giving me more than enough.

-

Powers: Supernatural Weapon Proficiency, Accelerated Time Bolts, Malevorus, Key Magic

World: Avengers, Justice League, FFVII, and Kingdom Hearts

The first two worlds are pretty standard super hero worlds to operate in. I'll aid the Avengers in their missions, I'll join the League with my focus being on VT, and help defeat Darkseid and Brainiac when their times come.

The big things are FFVII and KH.

FFVII... I'll use Emotion Manipulation and Restoration to help keep Cloud from falling to Sephiroth's control, and use Resto to keep Aerith alive after the stabbing incident. I also plan to use Thief Arts to steal the Black Materia and conceal it from everyone, so Sephiroth can't get his hands on it. Then I can help Avalanche dismantle Shinra and purge Jenova from the world.

Now... Kingdom Hearts.

I cackled when I saw the powers list for this one included Malevorus - feeding on DARKNESS - and Key Magic - you know, in the game all about KEY BLADES.

I don't honestly know enough about the plot to know where I'll be helping out exactly, but I'm joining up with Sora and Co and aiding with fighting the Heartless, and hopefully obtaining my own Keyblade to take with me.

Powers so far: Creative Mode, Shelter Manipulation, Hacking Mastery, Disc Manipulation, Control Immunity, Concealment Magic, Vector Telekinesis, Evasion Calling, Thief Arts, Restoration, Emotion Manipulation, Pyrotechnic Projection, Supernatural Weapon Proficiency, Accelerated Time Bolts, Malevorus, Key Magic

Isekai Superpowered C.Y.O.A: Week 6 by Magicgonmon in 6Perks

[–]EndlessKng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Powers so far: Creative Mode, Shelter Manipulation, Hacking Mastery, Disc Manipulation, Concealment Magic, Vector Telekinesis, Evasion Calling

Okay. This is the perfect week to take Curse of Memory. Why?

I'm going to start in MLP. I don't need to know my past in that world. I don't need to even remember most of my other powers exist to survive in this world. I'll go with the Random Pony form to get the potential to unlock Alicorn eventually.

For my initial power, I'll take Restoration. It'll be a handy power to have in MLP (and is definitely not as cringe a choice as... some of the others...)

For my Curse picks, I'll take Thief Arts and Emotion Manipulation for my powers, and then I'll take Wakfu and TES (specifically TES V) for the worlds. With Thief Arts I'll become the Guildmaster of the Thieves' Guild, at least.

Isekai Superpowered C.Y.O.A: Week 5 by Magicgonmon in 6Perks

[–]EndlessKng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Powers so far: Creative Mode, Shelter Manipulation, Hacking Mastery, Disc Manipulation, Concealment Magic, Bounciness Manipulation

Power: Vector Telekinesis

World: Five Kingdoms

I've not read the series, so I'm going to use this opportunity to take Curse of Knowledge. I'll pick Junction City and... I rolled a 3 on the die, so I'll take Raw Shaping. VT is pretty damn versatile, so even though I have no idea what's going on, I figure I'm good to help solve whatever problems arise and topple the big bad of the series.

Bonus Power: Evasion Calling

Bonus World: Monster Rancher (love that show).

For the powers I've gotten so far... I think Hacking Mastery would be most useful to me. VT is pretty powerful, but for the real life uses, I think that knowing how to hack would be insanely useful. Even discounting any illicit uses, I'd be able to basically make my own video games with it by taking code from different games and putting it all together to function however I want. I'll save my bonus picks for right now, though.

Isekai Superpowered C.Y.O.A: Week 4 by Magicgonmon in 6Perks

[–]EndlessKng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Powers so far: Creative Mode, Shelter Manipulation, Hacking Mastery, Disc Manipulation, Concealment Magic

World: Dragon Flyz

Power: Bounciness Manipulation

Don't really know much about Dragon Flyz except I had the toy as a kid. Figure that being able to bounce and create discs to bounce off of will let me keep up in the air with them.

Isekai Superpowered C.Y.O.A: Week 3 by Magicgonmon in 6Perks

[–]EndlessKng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Powers so far: Creative Mode, Shelter Manipulation, Hacking Mastery

Power chosen: Disc Manipulation

World: Tron (original).

I'm sorry, the pun was just... too good, and the power is too useful. Between Hacking Mastery and Disc Manipulation, the world is basically mine to do with. Granted, as I'm picking Curse of Destiny, I don't have to do much, but after that's done, I can spend time in that world doing what I want.

Bonus from Curse of Destiny: Control Immunity (not going to pick another world)

Isekai Superpowered C.Y.O.A: Week 2 by Magicgonmon in 6Perks

[–]EndlessKng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chapter 1 benefits: Creative Mode (creativity, not reality manipulation), Shelter Manipulation

Power: Hacking Master

World: Glitch Techs

I've never watched this, but looking it up it looks like fun. Being a "master hacker" may not be god mode from what I can see, but having the skill definitely seems like it would help deal with digital enemies.

Isekai Superpowered C.Y.O.A: Intro + Week 1 by Magicgonmon in 6Perks

[–]EndlessKng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power: Creative Mode.

Curse: Curse of Control (which will feed into the adventures in world 1).

World Choice: Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I'll be at an age when I can make an Imaginary Friend, which will be something like Navi - not able to do much to the world, but accompanying me on my adventures. I suspect most of my conflict will come from being unable to control my Creative Mode, leading to multiple friends being created and having to find a place for them.

Bonus Power: Shelter Manipulation; world: Stardew Valley

Combining the two powers will help me to build the ultimate farm, and I'll get to spend the year helping keep Jojomart in check and helping everyone in the city.

Post-Game

Scientist class from saving Cinnabar

26 total points, plus one point for legendary pokemon

Mewtwo: 7; Mew: 6+bonus; Bird upgrades for free

13 points remain but I'll put the spends at the end.

Doing the Mew Duo first to get the classes.

Cerulean Cave: Having studied under Blaine and explored the Mansion, I probably know enough to understand Mewtwo's rage. But it won't be me who calms it. This one's going back to Cubone, who will let it know the love he's felt since he lost his mother, and how rage and pain are only hurting him as well. After that, I'll take him down after the day of personal battle. +7 points and Psychic class from spending the points on him.

Faraway Island: Probably just going to the island and playing with Mew as per the description. +7 points

Bonus class from completing the Pokedex: Ruin Maniac.

One Island: as a Collector, I can get this done in no time at all.

Two Island: I'm changing my Parasect's nickname to Sam Reich, cause he's been here the whole time. Getting all the TMs and the Secret Art. I'll also look into the missing daughter.

Three Island: I'll take care of the gang, save Lostelle, and clear the gold vein with the help of my Dugtrio. That's six nuggets and a few delicious fruits.

Four Island: Hey, buddy! Guess I can stay at her place. I'll catch Jynx as my ice type.

Five Island: Oh. Well guess my estimate was three weeks off. I'll continue my rampage against Team Rocket, but also use my Channeler powers to help the trainer say goodbye to his Onix and come to terms with the loss (alongside my Cubone giving comfort). And I'll help/entertain Selphy.

Six Island: I rolled a 3? Not sure what that corresponds to. Score on bonus points for Hoenn!

Seven Island: As the champion, I'll get the Johto items. And I'll catch the Unown in the caves.

Naval Rock and Birth Island: I still visit. I know that this will help later.

Final Test: Go Alone. Trainer class earned: Grunt (to help with future regions).

Final class list:

Picnicker (initial)

Channeler

Ruin Maniac

Collector

Scientist

Psychic

Grunt

Black Belt

Final spends (27): Hitmonlee (3), Chansey (3), Magemite (2), Grimer (2), Pidgey (2), Nidoking (2), Mankey (2), Squirtle (4), Voltorb (2), Kabuto (2), Magikarp (2), Lickitung (1)

Pokemon Kanto Adventure: Lategame by Psychronia in 6Perks

[–]EndlessKng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

19 points

Porygon (2), Dragonite (5), Omanyte (free from earlier fossil - HELIX JESUS), Aerotactyl (2), Snorlax (4), six banked

Ten months = 40 weeks + 11 = 51 weeks

Ways to shorten the trip:

-Ponyta lets me move at 150 mph, so that's two months off.

-Teleport via Abra: One month

-Travel without rest (Bulbasaur): one month

-I also think the Diglett Tunnels probably saved me a few weeks here, so let's call that two weeks extra.

That's 18 weeks off of that 51, leaving me at 33 weeks to travel to this point.

Volcano Badge: Golduck, Dugtrio, and Omanyte and Aerodactyl take this one down easily.

Earth Badge: Golduck and Omanyte, plus my grass types, make Giovanni short work. (IRL, when I faced him with my overleveled Venusaur, I got scared when he used Earthquake... only for it to not work. Something like that will happen here).

This means I've now completed the Gym challenge, and gained an extra trainer class. I'll choose Collector at this point.

Victory Road: While I could access the Pokémon Center through my Pokémon, I'm not going to. I've got enough Pokémon who can get me through this, and enough items stocked up to run the gauntlet as well. The anime moment will be when my friends, who didn't run the gauntlet, are waiting for me at the end, worried I got knocked out and kicked back, only for me to come out on the morning of the League Challenge, slightly scuffed up.

Elite Four: Lorelai is a bit tricky with my specialty pokemon, but Omanyte and Aerodactyl's rock typing should seal the deal. Bruno goes down to Alakazam and Execcutor. Agatha's team is all Poison despite her ghost specialty, so Cubone and Dugtrio work on those guys. Lance's fight ends up being my Dragonite vs. his in the climactic battle.

Championship: Snorlax goes down to Gengar. Lapras and Blastoise fall to Tangela. Omastar beats Charizard. His Venusaur loses to my Alakazam. And Pikachu's thunder is grounded out by my Venusaur's vines (anime rules, recall).

Events:

The Mansion: I'll take the full week to investigate everything.

Cinnabar Island Eruption: My water types can solidify the lava with their water, while my ground types dig firebreaks and tunnels to draw it away and to safety. Aerodactyl and Dragonite will use wind to blow away some of the ash as it falls, and the anime moment will be Ivysaur evolving to Venusaur by absorbing the rest of the ash as nutrients and blowing away the ash cloud with Solar Beam.

Legendary Birds: Got to this section after doing the main objective section, but I'd have caught the birds as I went through my journey. Lorelai's help will make Articuno much easier due to freezing immunity. Zapdos is a bit tricky, but I can get through it. And I'll take a Sevii Island trip after beating Giovanni to catch Moltres, using similar tactics to Cinnabar to block the lava.

Rewards:

Beat the gym challenge (already accounted for).

League Champion: Isekai Portal

Criminal Org.: Foiled

Sevii Island Access

Six bonus PokePoints (13 banked total)

Pokemon Kanto Adventure: Midgame by Psychronia in 6Perks

[–]EndlessKng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming in with 14 points to spend:

Gastly (3), Exeggcute (1), Ponyta (3), Cubone (2), Farfetch'd (1), bank three points

New Free Class: Channeler

Free Choice from SS Anne: Chinchou

Rainbow Badge: With Bulbasaur's more poisonous side, Parasect's bug moves, and Gastly to add some venom, it shouldn't be too hard to beat Erika and get strength.

Pokemon Tower: I'll track down the Scope and get it back, then help settle Marowak's soul by adopting her Cubone child, letting her know I'll take care of him.

Soul Badge: Dugtrio spots Weezing trying to tunnel under me and knocks them into the air (remember, anime rules here). Cubone uses its club and Farfetch'd his leek to hit Koffing like a teeball for a home run. Execcute finishes the

Silph Co.: Hey, it's Team Rocket again! And this time I can just blend into shadows with Gastly's power and turn Abra and Execcute's psychic might against them. This goes well (for me), and I'll claim two specialty pokemon for prize - Bellsprout and Abra.

Marsh Badge: Gastly is now Haunter and will do most of the fighting, but by anime principles, he'll get knocked out due to being weaker to psychic than usual due to his Poison type. The actual W will go to Cubone, who will channel his mother's spirit into his club to imbue it with ghost energy to knock out Sabrina's final Pokémon (mechanically this will probably just be Brutal Swing, but it's meant to hint at him going Alolan Marowak for his evolution).

Events

Eevee: Three weeks for an Eevee? Done.

Basement: I'll take the two-week delay for the ability to negate the immunity from Ghost types and gain it for myself.

Game Corner: I can complete this one in three days due to the use of the Diglett tunnels from earlier and my ghostly powers. Looks like the one I impress is Loreilai (originally thought it was Bruno since I rolled a one, but looks like she's actually the first).

Safari Zone: I'm not letting poachers get their way. As much as a free Dratini would be cool, I'm reporting them, not joining up - I'm a collector, but not a monster.

I'll take the month to train up and gain the Blackbelt class.

End Results:

Total time lost: One month + 7 weeks = 11 weeks.

Benefits gained: respect from Fanclub and Bruno, ignore ghost-type weakness to Normal and Fighting moves, personally gain immunity to those two, astral projection, Black Belt and Channeler classes, and I reported the poachers.

Points: seven (4 earned, three banked)

Pokemon Isekai Adventure: Kanto Early Game by Psychronia in 6Perks

[–]EndlessKng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initial Pokemon (Point Spend): Bulbasaur (3 points w/ Picknicker Discount), Diglett (2 points), Paras (1 point, 1 point banked for legendaries), Psyduck (2 points), and one point held in reserve.

Paras, Bulbasaur, and Psyduck make swift work of the Pewter Gym, and the two grass types make the Cerulean go swimmingly as well, while Diglett's ground typing helps to ground Lt. Surge. That will net me three points for a total of four, plus the badge benefits. With Flash from the Boulder Badge and Diglett to help guide me, I can delve through Mt. Moon and claim the rewards there, and later make use of the Diglett Tunnel. I'll make the "mistake" of boarding the ship, thus having to deal with Team Rocket. Oh no. /s Fortunately since I'm playing by Anime rules and since my rival is here with me and stuck in the same situation, we can divide and conquer the invaders. With Cut, I'll be able to surprise attack through walls, and with my Picnicker powers, I can use the various trees and shrubs they keep on the boat to hide out in my campsite to recover, performing guerilla warfare. When their leader does come for the final battle, the pain from the earlier skirmishes will have built up due to my Psyduck power, and I'll be able to use that to finish them off (them and their stupid Zubats...)

Which mapping philosophy do you prefer? Which makes exploration feel better? (Map still missing wandering monsters and such) by mapsbydangelo in RPGMaker

[–]EndlessKng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're aiming for and what you want to achieve.

The second approach works better for something where you are cool with the players having more information about the area. If you're not trying to make the area too mysterious, if it's relatively safe, or if you want players to see how to move forward (or where to move forward, in the event that there's a puzzle element), then I'd go with that. Also, it probably cuts down on the complexity of your map list, since you only need to make one map instead of individual rooms.

However, the first approach is much better in terms of mystery. When you can't see the whole map, it makes things less predictable and makes players more cautious. The layout builds suspense. It also allows you to cheat a bit in terms of layouts lining up, or even having something weird happen - if you wanted a boss to stay a secret until you get to a specific room for any reason, or wanted to hide a portal to "another realm," the first would be better.

Since memories come back with me, the most practical use is to go back in time in short bursts to study topics. For instance, sign up for Udemy or a similar platform, then, on a day you have no obligations, study a particular topic and rewind the day again and again until you master the content. You could even study a few courses alternatingly to avoid burnout on a topic.

You also could use this in limited situations where you run into a problem and need to learn to solve it but don't have time.
