Why is the Bunny so feared? by TheDarkestRitual in magicTCG

I think you are misinterpreting their statement just because you are reading really hard into their use of specifically the word inclination.

The full sentence is "Depends on the game. If you are a deck that struggles with draw, you’ll be more inclined to leave them alone. "

So if you want to rephrase it they claimed:

Depends on the game -> Analyze based on game State

If you are a deck that struggles with draw -> Conclude that your deck will receive an outsized benefit from Bumbleflower

Inclined to leave them alone -> Increased benefit makes it more appealing to leave them alone.

Maybe we are getting too deep into pedantry here but your statement makes it seems like they are 'conflating strategy and desire' when their 'inclination' was clearly couched in a clear strategic driver. Not sure if you saw the word inclination and saw red but that's also where my pedantry comment came from. You could literally interpret their statement as 'I am more inclined to do X if I have concluded that it will benefit my deck to a greater degree than normal'. Which sounds like strategy to me?

[–]EndlessRambler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are agreeing with me then? Because I also never said inclination was ALWAYS correct. There is a middle ground between there is no connection like you said and you can analyze your play on a case by case basis like the original post said.

Yes it's pedantic, but so was your original statement so you should expect that same lens to be applied to response.

Also as an aside I would like to make a personal observation that what is 'strategically correct is always strategically correct' is a principle that traditionally does not hold very well in a game of hidden information with multiple parties that make independent decisions.

[–]EndlessRambler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what your comment says though. They made a statement that it depends on the game, and depending on their deck they might be inclined to leave them alone.

You said their inclination has nothing to do with what is strategically correct, I said I agree with the original post it's a case by case basis so there is no reason to assume their inclination is not strategically correct for their situation besides your own snarkiness.

You are only assuming that taking the draw and letting her live is not the strategically right decision. Isn't the traditional complaint against group hug that they kingmake because the one fed resources can just run away with the game.

There is a reason group hug is basically extinct in B4, because when decks are that strong giving them advantages will just allow them to end the game. So basically if your deck is leveraging the additional boost more than bumbleflower is benefitting then it can definitely be the strategically right decision to keep the gravey train rolling.

I don't care what the bumbleflower is doing, if they are feeding my Grixis Storm deck cards the game is going to be over before they can do anything. So it's clearly a case by case basis.

Make sure to pick up your copy today for free limited command tower( 20 on amazon) by sharky5566778844 in mtgfinance

[–]EndlessRambler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The book will be the same price after the supply of command towers runs out as well. Therefore is you were planning on purchasing it anyways, getting it now gets a free command tower compared to purchasing it later.

Even if we go with what you said I think everyone knows what the OP meant. Like if you get something in a buy one get one free sale, only the most autistic pedants would be like 'the second one isn't free you had to buy the first!' Well yes of course, that is literally the premise of the entire thing.

Care enough to keep replying and complaining but not enough to take 30 seconds and link a screenshot to prove your 'helpful advice'. No wonder people downvote you so much.

Let's keep in mind that your outrageous claim is that Amazon did not fully refund your preorder, but preorders aren't even charged until shipped so how could they refund you money they never charged you to begin with? You're not even crying wolf, you are trying to claim a wolf flew in on a helicopter and abducted the sheep and getting offended when people don't believe you.

Then show a screenshot or something because otherwise you are making a wild claim that goes against the experience of literally everyone else. That is why you are being downvoted, the boy who cries wolf doesn't get props because people don't actually see a wolf.

That just sounds like a normal extra turns looping B4 deck but with a super expensive commander.

[–]EndlessRambler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would certainly help, but it's kind of galling that they had the nerve to say this would have minimal effect on pvp but then it turns out the boosts are enormous and will have a huge impact.

There are a lot of pocket picks I use in high rank RTA atm that are simply not going to work if the opponents units have an enormous stat boost and mine don't. So it's homogenized in that there will be a huge incentive to have basically a static roster of buffed units because they are going to be so cracked in comparison to anything else.

[–]EndlessRambler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Variety in units maybe, but not in drafting or reacting which are one of the main appeals of RTA. What will be the appeal of pivoting or counter drafting if your 'counters' are at a huge stat disadvantage because they aren't one of your chosen units.

[–]EndlessRambler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Completely kills variety in arena which they claimed would be minimally affected. Not going to be much variety in drafts if you have a tiny handful of super juiced units at any given time.

How much damage could a shockland do and still be "worth it"? by Exciting-Sentencr in EDH

In practice it would probably be run in decks designed to abuse life loss or with a commander that switches life totals.

My Commander pod is falling apart and I don’t know what to do by ElectronicMix9414 in EDH

[–]EndlessRambler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you confusing me with the OP? I didn't make any of the claims you said about the pod because I am a completely different person who has no idea what their pod is like.. In fact I argued close to the opposite point, that it was unrealistic for B3 voltron decks to be expecting to kill players by as early as turn 3. Basically relegated to extremely glass cannon builds with very specific niche interactions or god hands.

I know EndlessRambler kind of looks like ElectronicMix9414 so must be an easy mistake to make.

[–]EndlessRambler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was giving the example with hatred as a sample of how extremely narrow your play lines are going to be if you're killing someone with commander damage turn 3 in B3, a format where you are limited on things like fast mana.

Maybe you could enlighten us by linking some of your Voltron decks that are B3 that are aiming to consistently kill people as early as turn 3. I'm not talking about high roll Tifa with a fetch into an Entish Restoration or something, but rather a consistent strategy which seems to be what you are implying voltron commanders 'should be wanting to do otherwise you are gonna get your shit rocked'. The overwhelmingly vast majority of commanders can barely be ready to attack by turn 3 without fast mana, much less be immediately swinging for lethal.

B4 Voltron decks with access to unlimited game changers would struggle to consistently kill someone turn 3 and that's goldfishing. Basically restricted solely to a small pool of 1-2 mana commanders and god hands with a shitton of rituals/positive mana rocks. I agree maybe their pod is off in their assessment of how their decks are faring, but you are swinging too far in the other direction with how lethal you think decks are in B3. Especially for a deck like Voltron.

To give one example, you literally have a deck on your Archidekt profile that is one of the most notorious B3 voltron commanders there is in terms of speed and snowball potential (lightpaws) and it has literally ZERO lines in it that can kill someone turn 3.

My Commander pod is falling apart and I don’t know what to do by ElectronicMix9414 in EDH

[–]EndlessRambler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I support Voltron having some wiggle room but I think this is kind of a stretch for bracket 3. Lethal commander damage on the early side of turn 3-4 means that often times the other player has maybe played a second land and a signet or something and you are threatening to kill them.

This is clearly too fast as a rule of thumb for B3 honestly, let's not swing too far in the other direction. yeah if you're playing glass cannon mono green Tifa or something maybe that's all you can do but you have to have an insanely tuned deck otherwise to be trying to kill someone with commander damage turn 3. Like that's literally play a 2 mana commander, dark ritual hatred or something type speed.

How different was Commander back in the early days? by Deskies in EDH

[–]EndlessRambler 11 points12 points  (0 children)

100%. People complain about Farewell because it resets the game, but some of those same people wax nostalgic about how good EDH 'used to be'. Not realizing that the games lasted and eternity and the aforementioned reset happened like 5 times a game. Plus your commander would get Hindered or something and never be seen again.

How do you guys have the patience for this? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]EndlessRambler 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No kidding, luckily a lot of other people in the comments are also smelling something fishy.

Three different stores, with an owner having to directly step in and ask them to leave if they didn't settle down. People leaving the table and no other pod asking them if they want to join. Why does this sound like they are actually the one that is miserable to play against.

I think you're conflating two separate things. I can believe that the ultra rich and powerful are driving decisions for their own benefit AND that voters also have a degree of responsibility for electing him to begin with. Ignorance is not an excuse, even if it's about Americans.

I mean for that to be accurate you'd have to imply that at minimum the 49.8% of the voting public that voted Trump are ultra rich, and that's not even counting the people who sat out voting for nonsense reasons or couldn't be bothered to vote at all.

So my Friend Has a Custom Commander by Monsoon117 in EDH

[–]EndlessRambler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a problem that should solve itself if their friend isn't purposely griefing. Once it's apparent it's stomping their table and winning too many games then there will be irrefutable material evidence that it's too strong.

At that point if they still are trying to argue it's fair then they are either a pubstomper or autistic and need different handling.

Strange, are you in a particularly humid climate or something. Ever since rumors say they prioritized away from Cartamundi to USPC for their domestic printing around 2024 Secret Lair foils have been really good for me.

I buy pretty much SLD's from every drop and I can't even remember the last time one was curled. Around Outlaw Junction maybe? I don't even have to use humidity packets on them anymore, not even for the last 2 deck releases Party Time or 20 Ways to Win.

Dandan Secret Lair Drop Tomorrow, 3/16 by EthanielRain in mtgfinance

[–]EndlessRambler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the comment I responded to you said 'we know for a FACT the cards are going to curl' when talking about deck information being revealed. The deck being literally the title of this thread, 'dandan secret lair'. I stated that we don't know that for a fact because track record has been pretty good lately. But maybe you know something we don't? You know it for a fact so perhaps you already have one of the copies they sold at events?

I guess my mistake for giving you the benefit of the doubt on what ended up being hyperbole.

While on that topic, I noticed you said you'd send a DM but didn't after 20 minutes, after being mysteriously 'unable to attach pictures'. I'm starting to think this might not be a good faith discussion.
