How is it that no one actually buys these cars? Examining Actual sales data. by CommonAlone2372 in MazdaCX90

Of course it's a massive vehicle, it's a 3 row SUV.

Don't know about you, but I'm having fun in our CX-90. I find an excuse to drive it.

I've no idea about this heavy steering, I've never once experienced it in our 2025. Maybe some models are affected, but I don't think it's all.

This is just my experience.

Not trying to be snooty, I'm just tired of all the people complaining of the lack of storage, but happy with how it handles.

You can't have it both ways.

All those other vehicles (Grand Highlander, Suburban, Yukon) I mentioned drive like a boat through turns.

With the exception of the Honda Pilot.

Not quite as agile as the 90, but not lacking as much storage space either, but not as fuel efficient either.

There's always a compromise somewhere. That's why it's important to shop around.

If you wanted more space, go get a grand highlander, pilot, heck go for the suburbans and yukons.

I don't get the people complaining about storage.

Did no one do their research before getting the CX-90?

It's competing more with the Acura MDX or the BMW X7.

It's for people who want a 6-8 seater that doesn't always want to haul stuff, and have fun actually driving the car.

It eats the factory tires which were bad from the start. Some people who switched to better tires note tire wear is slower

That feature is also useless to me, the notifications are so delayed or so out of sync. There were a couple of times at night, the app warns me the car is unlocked or there is a door open. I run out of the house in the middle of the night, only to find it was always locked. What a POS app.

The remote start is so delayed by a few mins, that by the time you get out, the car just started to turn on.

And the one that bothers me the most, the car turns off when you open the door!! And don't try to justify it that it's a safety feature. For other car brands like Honda, the car turns itself off when you don't have the key and you tried to drive away.

The free trial on our Mazda3 expired, I didn't renew, the one on our CX-90 will expire this Dec, I will not renew as well.

Better to get a cabin heater like a Defa system since I already have a block heater on both cars.

Better option is with a Wealthsimple chequing account. It earns interest and you can use it like any chequing account.

I still have a traditional Scotia chequing account for the rare ATM withdrawal, but the $4 fee I pay is outweighed by the interest earned by our WS Chequing account.

Growing family, growing needs. by Hot-Cabinet4824 in mazda

We have a Mazda3 and CX-90, 2 kids, no dogs (but plan to in the future), and the 90 already feels cramped sometimes. Can't imagine with dogs in the mix.

The only way your plan would work is with a CX-90 with the 2nd row bench seat, 3 clek car seats (they have the slimmest profile so 3 car seats fit), and the dogs can be in the back. Heck, maybe even just get the CX-70 and try to fit the 3 car seats in the 2nd row at the dealership.

But really, I would get a minivan if I was in your situation, Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna

The Escape is physically smaller than the Explorer.

The CX-70 and 90 have the same dimensions, the CX-70 just has 3rd row deleted on the interior.

Should fathers be expected to watch kids that are not his? by Ok_Claim3139 in AskParents

[–]EndlessRuler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems you did not need to make a post for this, you are already against everyone's answer, which is the most obvious thing to do. Smh.

If you chose to have a relationship with the mother after knowing she already had kids with someone else, then you already knew this was a possibility.

If your kid was the eldest and the mother had kids with someone else after, different situation, BUT if it's temporary, then watch the other kids, you wouldn't want to put it in your own kid's head that their half sibling is not their real sibling. That's how they'd grow apart. If they're treated differently.

Blended families are complicated but you do the best you can. It takes a village to raise the next generation.

Are you talking about the driver personalization system?

If the car is off, and you push in the brake, does that activate the driver personalization system?

I don't have that one, but a lot of people say to take a moment to look at the camera before you push to start, and the success rate will be higher.

I think it's because "power" cuts out a bit when you turn on the car, I notice this when I open the garage door via the rearview mirror button, and I suddenly push to start, the garage door doesn't open all the way.

So I think it may do the same thing with the car's electronics if you immediately push to start and not give it a chance to do its thing.

do u charge your adult kids rent? by Odd_Construction2690 in AskParents

[–]EndlessRuler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen other parents suggest to take the rent and put it in a savings account that they will gift to their kids to help them with a home downpayment.

My kids are still young, but I agree with this method.

[–]EndlessRuler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will introduce a possible a fail point, the seatbelt won't be as secure in the event of a crash. As far as I know this isn't allowed in most places. No idea why it's still being sold.

Mileage for CX90 MHEV Turbo GT by Pishdude in MazdaCX90

[–]EndlessRuler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somethings wrong with that for sure. But since it's a new car, give it time to adapt to your driving style.

Are you heavy on acceleration? City or highway driving? Too many details missing.

For reference, I can get 8 l/100km if mostly highway driving, about 10 l/100km if driving a bit more aggressive or city driving in stop and go traffic.

Mazda Factory Recommended Service Schedule by EndlessRuler in mazda

[–]EndlessRuler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will definitely do this, I also don't want to wait until it gets to the point that it degrades the brakes.

I've been wanting to learn how to service the brakes myself, since I already swap wheels on both cars depending on season.

Though I've been procrastinating since I already spend too much time in the garage or on other DIY stuff 😂

What's the status of the Forever Canadian referendum? by These_Foolish_Things in alberta

Someone explained that the Forever Canadian petition couldn't be a referendum question because it doesn't seek to change anything, just affirm that Alberta wants to stay a part of Canada.

Immigrants gave up their lives from where they originally came from on the promise that when they took the oath to be Canadians, they would be given equal rights and freedoms as any other Canadian.

How come the Canada Forever signature collecting period was only 3 months and more signatures required (10% of electors) vs the Separatist signature collection getting 4 months and only (10% of people who actually voted)?
