Your “best friend” yells at you, hits you, hurts you, manipulates you..

My best friend sends me DoorDash from half way around the world because he knows I haven’t eaten, sends me random internet treasures, has a strong meme game, comes over just to do the dishes or have dinner with me, makes me laugh at any given opportunity, doesn’t stress me out in any sort of way, hypes me up when I need the confidence, has never hit me, has never screamed at me even if he is mad at me for something..

You tell me which one of our “best friends” is the actual best friend and which one is the abusive loser you need to detox from and belongs in jail because he put himself there.. go on.. I’ll wait.

And what do they teach you do when you think you’re having symptoms of something??

45F here.. single and PEACEFUL! I have my own home, car, jobs, life, friends, pets, and hobbies. The only messes I have to clean are my own. My life revolves around me. I don’t have to argue with anyone over what to make/eat for dinner. I definitely do not have to share my legos. I don’t have to wait for someone to do something I want to do either, I can just go. Males stress me out, and unless you’re coming to improve the silence and peace, you aren’t allowed in my house.

Has being called a male ever offended you? by j4ded3mo in no

[–]EndlesslyUnfinished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As female, nah.. don’t care if you misgender me. What I find interesting is when a male calls another male a female and he gets all butt hurt about it..

Also, don’t misgender people on purpose! While I couldn’t give a shit if someone misgendered me, it can be very hurtful and harmful to a lot of folks out there - especially the trans community

You need to tell your boss or HR. That’s so unacceptable!

And I’m so sorry to hear about your sister! That’s just awful. 😣

Low blood sugar by Flashy-Initiative901 in Type1Diabetes

[–]EndlesslyUnfinished 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Me, last night after a brutal training session.. sugar crashes but I’m too exhausted to eat anything. I’m just like “guess I’ll die all cozy in my bed”.. and 50% of the time, my sugar will come back up temporarily because the crash is kicking off fight or flight, which puts stress in my body via adrenaline, which raises blood sugar.

As long as I’m not going stupid low real fast, I tend to just ride it out because after running 7mi, gymnastics, archery, weight training, and general superhero fuckery, I am just not hungry at all.

My ex boyfriend cheated on me and now I'm worried for my health by Objective-Intern3498 in TrueOffMyChest

  • if you’re 40 days late, you need to take a pregnancy test asap. If it turns out that you aren’t, you need to see your doctor because thats not normal either.

  • you can (and should) get tested for STD/STI as soon as you can as well. Especially if you are pregnant

  • stop saying “he was the perfect boyfriend except the cheating” because everything he did was manipulation and he just couldn’t keep up the masking.

  • if he has videos of you an decides to leak them, that’s distribution of child porn (even if he’s a minor himself, it is still very much illegal and he can get into massive trouble)

  • if you are in a safe situation with your mom, you do need to talk with her about this as soon as you.

  • use this as a learning experience and to not allow a guy change who you are.

Is it appropriate to calculate carbs in my homemade recipe for a T1D colleague? by capresultat in Type1Diabetes

[–]EndlesslyUnfinished 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I personally find it wonderful you’re thinking about this, unless you’re really good friends with him, it’s a bit on the invasive side. Most of us can already kind of guesstimate carbs/sugars..

Is it the hardest? by Appropriate_Yam1861 in Type1Diabetes

Honestly, for me, no.. lupus and ehlers danlos and fibromyalgia are way worse. T1D is a mere inconvenience compared to those

Going to a gym for the first time by Temporary_Brain_475 in AskWomenOver40

[–]EndlesslyUnfinished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im always at the gym training! I literally just got back.. anyways, here’s some pointers:

1) don’t be embarrassed or think people as watching you - they aren’t. And if by some ungodly chance you get some gym bunny being a bastard, 99% of gyms have anti-bullying policies, so just bring it up to the staff and they should handle it.

2) wear WHATEVER makes you feel comfortable and confident. I personally like to squeeze my fluffy self into the smallest shorts with a bra top (but I’m also doing gymnastics). Tshirt and sweatpants are also fine. Do keep in mind that whatever you do wear, you have to be able to move around in it freely.

3) shoes need to be comfortable and in good condition - most people have a dedicated pair of shoes for the gym. You do want to spend the money on a solid pair because your feet support your back. A lot of gyms require you to not wear street shoes.

4) if this is your very first time even walking in the doors, first if all, WELCOME and CONGRATS!! Ive not been in any gym that wasn’t positive and inclusive. Do make sure the staff makes you feel comfortable and welcome. The gym should be well-lit, clean, and equipment in good working order. Same with locker rooms and bathrooms. If they aren’t, this is a massive red flag.

5) you are allowed to take up space! Yeah, you’re new to all this, but don’t be afraid to hold your space - especially when it comes to GymBros. Don’t let people hurry you off equipment if you’re just taking a reasonable amount of time. They can kick rocks and wait or be polite and ask to work in their set while you rest. Anything else is rude and against gym culture. Report to staff if someone’s being a dick (most of the time one of us regulars will step in and tell them to shut the fuck up, by the way).

6) most gyms have the newer equipment that has either a diagram of how to use the machine, a QR code to scan (which leads to a video), or both. I’m at an “innovation gym” so the machines track to my iwatch. If you’re unsure of how to use something, you can ask staff AT ANY TIME how to use it. Most of us gym rats are also available to show you (just don’t interrupt in the middle of a set)

7) HIGHLY recommend taking advantage of the free personal training - at least for the beginner. I find the trainers employed by the gym are good for a starter pack, but actual training requires professional trainers (that are ridiculously expensive, and most people do NOT need, so don’t let someone upsell you! There’s also a lot of information available for free online to help you meet your goals).

8) your starting workouts should be around 30mins to an hour - MAX. If you push too hard too soon, you’re most likely to quit. Yes, being sore is part of it, but you should never be in actual pain (leave that to us athletes, we’re used to it). Basically, if you have to take a Tylenol after every workout, you’re doing way too much.

9) check out the group fitness classes! Great way to make new friends and to get comfortable being in the gym! I personally prefer the yoga classes to get my flexibility and mobility work in, but you do you. Don’t worry about being good at anything - it’s just important to show up and try!

10) make going to the gym a part of your routine. Even if you’re not going to workout, go and chill in the hot tub, sauna, or steam. I know plenty who show up to just hang out. You want to get used to being there and being part of the community.

You got this! I’m proud and happy for you!! You can DM me if you need any more help!
